Harkness stood in the cafe on Coruscant. After all the excitement well he had needed to rest, after burying his aid of course. Nasty business that attack which left the senate destroyed, it had brought him back from zeltros quickly to ensure everything was fine and now... Now he had to ask a woman he respected a favor. After seeing who he was running against it all hinged on this or at least it all hinged on him being his charming self and hey what was more charming then a meal in a safe with tea, caf or scones huh?

Hanna smiled " So what did you want Mr Harkness? I know I thought we were working together, but I think your fine as an opponent. Your better than some of our others. " She said as she took a seat and ordered a caf. She was curious what he wanted from her. It was after all going to be an interesting. It always was with this man. She didn't know his angle, but he always treated her right.

She was right, they were working together or at least that was the plan. The two fo them could do much but he also had some plans. Plans he would gladly share and not leave her in the dark about. "That is why I wanted to see you, while I do not claim to be a wholly decent man I like to be honest and your very pretty but i digress. There is something I would like to ask you and it is painful but is there any way I could convince you to pull out of the race. To come and take a position within the Republic and put those years of experience to good use. I won't be like the last one and leave you in a lurch no I want you rigt there with me helping make policy and helping the people. If Hapes is only as strong as its ruler then the Republic is only as strong as its supporters and right now I need your support."

" I think I am a rather viable canidate, I mean I have been Vice Chancellor twice, and have been surrounded by politics my whole life. Shouldn't we be doing this the other way around?" She asked, trying to figure out his reasoning. She of course trusted him. It was more, her trying to get more info out of him. "Also I wouldn't step down for just any position. I am sure your realize."

"Oh I am certain of that, something I have always admired about Hapes you don't take anything from anyone and you never give in. This is what I need and want, I have some plans a vision for the Republic. I want us to stop bickering, I want the senate to stop blaming each other. For every little thing, making bill after bill on a whim that can help us one moment and hurt us the neck, the madness of it all is dangerous. We need a new direction and I have support within the military, I have spoken to others and of all the people your name kept coming up. Given what happened last time I didn't know how you might be but there is plenty going on in the Republic. Your experience is invaluable compared to some and your vote, you passion, your wanting to make this government great. You did great work with trying to repair our relations to Omega before the talks got thrown out. Your ability to offer insight and help with Hapes cannot be overstated. The ruler there is many things but it is always better to have someone who knows all the rules of court. Which is why I want you to help me, to advice but also to have the power and position to help your people."

"Fine, I will do it but it better be one hell of a postion and I better not just be there and be your experienced advisor. I want to do things. I tire of being in positions where they want nothing else but my name. So if you can do that, than you can count on me. I trust you, so please don't joke me around. " She said with a passionate look. One that spoke of passion and meaning in every word she had said.

"Oh it shall be one hell of a position with what you want and need. I know you seem to attract assassins so increased protection might even be able to get some jedi to protect you. Their skills would come in handy, your daughter will want for nothing and you can have holidays to be with her. Hell say the words Hanna and the chancellors office can be converted into a daycare just for you so you can have her close all day. For this sacrifice I owe you a very clear pound of flesh."

" I don't think we need to that far. But it sounds like you have quite the deal worked out. I accept, and will drop out in the morning. I will annouce my support for your campaign as well. Now I believe you lured me here with the promise of food and drink. ' She said with a smile. She like the man, he was one of her few political friends. He also knew what he was asking from her and intended to make sure she was compensated. She sighed. " Your just lucky I like you. I will have to let you meet Kalia and Matsu." She said off hand as she finally got her caf that she ordered 3 posts ago. She took a sip and looked at him curious of what his reaction would be.

Harkness gave a smile and nod at that. It was going easy well easier then he had suspected at least. There was still plenty that would have to be done and plenty that could go wrong but slowly and without much need he took a sip of the caf. "Thank you for that and yes I did mention food." The thought of meeting her daughter and friend well he offered another grin. "I would love to meet anyone who is important to you, as a friend I trust it would be best to get on your daughters good side. Children can be good judges of character."

She smiled " That is true, but think after meeting Kaila, you will be unable to resist her. I would love to eat, umm I have never eaten here, any suggestions?" She asked with a smile. She wondered if he could do it. Could he become the Chancellor. She was going to be envious if he did, she had coveted that spot for a long time. To think originally she wanted nothing to do with politics. It was amusing to think that here she was living in politics.

"The food here is decent in truth not the greatest but diners are a place to meet the people. To get a finger on the pulse of those you represent. I frequent the cafes and diners on zeltros as much as I can to make sure all is well with the people." The food he ordered was basic, not much else besides some fries and a burger, cause greasy food always made things better in truth. "So come on and tell me Hanna, how much have you been enjoying the less stress and more time to yourself?

" A lot actually, I even got myself a girlfriend" She blushed as she said it out loud. Jack was the first person to know. " but I get to see Kalia more and well just I don't have to run the senate anymore. I am just a senator worrying about planet. I am ready for more though. " She said as she ordered the same as him. She was enjoying today. " Thanks for calling me out her, I haven't felt safe enough to go to my favorite diner alone. " She said as she drank some more caf.

"Well that is good, both having the time and a girlfriend and don't worry about protection. With the attack the beefing up of security will be one of the first things we do. Hell it should already be one of the major things done, most planets have sent security forces for their senators so if you need any I can have my people add more for you. NOw come on and spill, whats this girlfriend like?"
