Dianna was born to a Hapan military family. While they weren't a noble house by any means, their dedication to the Queen Mother of every generation for the last several hundred years has granted her family fame not commonly seen in non-noble houses. Thus she was raised to join that tradition. Favors with the late Queen Mother allowed her to attend school with both of the heirs and she became good friends with them. However, being from a military family there were just some things they couldn't share.

HISTORY
When they graduated from grammar school the Princesses went off to do whatever they do and Dianna went to serve the military. She was a commando for many years, serving alongside the Galactic Alliance as part of covert missions against the One Sith, Sith Empire, and First Order. However a freak accident the woman commanding her ship was killed leaving her as the commanding officer for the entire ship. After managing to get them to safety her family recommended she switch career paths. Partly because Navy life was seen as easier to find a good mate in and also because the life of a commando was starting to take a toll on her body. By then she'd lost two limbs and an eye and was still going.
She agreed, joking morbidly that she was tired of losing limbs and that if she was going out again she wanted it to be for good. So she joined the Hapan Royal Navy. It turned out while she was good at following orders on the ground, she was even better at giving them. She quickly rose in the ranks through both skill and her family's connection to the throne and was eventually put in command of her own task force of Battle Dragons inside the Hapan Honor Fleet.
After the Queen Mother died she was torn. Both the new and rightful Queen Mother and her sister were close friends of hers and when she was forced to choose a side she chose the rightful ruler she instead fled the Transitory Mists. She would eventually find herself on Kuat and became again embroiled in political intrigue and dynasty-shattering moves. This time, however, she stayed alongside the man she thought should rightfully rule. She became a captain in the Lord Regent's Defense Force and her experience in the Hapan Royal Navy, as well as her high society upbringing, gave her an outsider's insight on Kuat designs. Thus she was also placed in the Special Weapons Group of the Lord Regent's new regime and had a hand in developing technologies for Kuat and Kuat Drive Yards.
After the death of the Regent Dianna and others were smuggled out of the Kuat System as defectors to the New Imperial Order. Once there she took up her work again designing and studying ships. She mainly functioned as an oversser as one of the primary designers on many of Kuat's recent designs but was quickly recruited into the New Imperial Navy due to her experience and her close ties to Kuat-Entralla. Though she has sworn allegiance to the Empire, her true loyalties lie with the Trade Federation.

After the fallout of Lord Regent

and the Galactic Alliance Dianna as a supporter of the New Imperial Order and Lord Regent was forced into hiding. After a harrowing year she was smuggled out of GA space by NIO COMPNOR agents and defected to the New Imperial Order.
KUAT-ENTRALLA
Dianna quickly jumped back into her work as a designer in Kuat-Entralla. After the transition from being the New Imperial Order into the Empire Dianna was recruited into the Navy as a Captain and stationed in the Velcar Sector, though as part of Oversector I she was a part of the "Imperator" fleet and would frequently be dispatched to patrol various parts of the Oversector.
