Sabacc, a fair and honest game of strategy and luck. Well, it would be if you weren't on Nar Shaddaa. The sky palace of
Avernus
wasn't the kind of place that made Rowan expect a fair game. That didn't bother him though, it was never really fair when a force-sensitive was sitting at the table. Thankfully the AvCorp™ dealer droids weren't rigged like the many other establishments Rowan had played in.
After receiving some well-heeded advice from a Gand peddling mind spiral, Rowan had exchanged a large number of his credits for AvCoin©, granting him some bonus chips on the buy-in. The free drink it came with was nice too, but not necessary. Rowan liked to keep his mind un-muddled when the cards were hitting the table. Drinking could always come later after he won the money to drink with. The drink being complementary granted it an exception, and thankfully wasn't very strong. Not like you should expect anything free on Nar Shaddaa to be any good anyway.
The players paid their antes, and dealer droid dealt the players their hands, skipping over the empty seat at the table with mechanical diligence. Rowan looked at his cards; he'd been dealt Endurance and One of Sabers. Negative seven, far from an ideal hand, but perhaps salvageable. Small bets during the betting phase, nothing that was too risky to match, which Rowan did come his turn.
The shifting phase came up with nothing, the random chance to shift not coming to fruition. Come to the draw phase, Rowan discarded One of Sabers in the draw phase, hoping to replace it with something more valuable. Another round of betting and one more failed shift later the draw phase came once again. The dealer droid dealt him another card from the center of the table. He already knew what it was before he even flipped it over. He could feel his cosmic instinct telling him it was nothing. He flipped over the card and was met with the eight of flasks. Zero. Quite literally nothing. Rowan curled his lip in frustration and folded before leaning back in his chair, waiting for the next hand to start.
