Strengths:
  • The Detritus carries a tremendous amount of ordnance in a well-protected frame. It serves the role of 'heavy bomber' quite well, having ordnance almost comparable to the Exodus-class Strategic Bomber while being faster and better shielded.
  • The Detritus packs more forward firepower than the Exodus.
Weaknesses:
  • Being a heavy bomber, the Detritus is slow, hard to turn, and vulnerable to fighters given a lack of protection.
  • The Detritus has less turrets compared to the Exodus, and is vulnerable to an attack from underneath due to this.
Description: Originally an aging heavy bomber design created by Subach-Innes, the Detritus-class Heavy Bomber was intended to function as one of the heaviest ordnance-droppers available to any government body. As capacities for bombers grew and technology advanced, the Detritus became old and worn out, until Defiance Consolidated Multipurpose Manufacturing refitted the design with the latest in technological advances. Fashioned from cast duranium frame segments now instead of the more expensive quadanium steel welded frame, the Detritus now fits HL-7 xaser cannons and more ordnance than one can shake a stick at. The integration of the diatium capacitance array helps to reinforce an already sturdy frame - but alas, the Detritus as it stands now is Sith property, having effectively replaced the Exodus-class Strategic Bomber as the heavy bomber of choice.</p>

The approval for this submission has been revoked because this is incredibly unbalanced and the armament section was misread/misunderstood originally.

This is what a very high armament rating gunship looks like:
This is what your submission, with the same armament rating, looks like:
That's 3 heavy lasers, 2 normal lasers, and 1 twin laser + 1 underbelly ordnance rack that can hold essentially 2 bomblet generators/4 bombs/mines + Two ordnance/missile tubes that can hold 4 to 8 missiles/torpedoes each + 2 bomb bays that hold up to 75 bombs each.

Logistics of even fitting these many weapons on a ship that is this small aside, this is vastly overpowered, first, and would far exceed what an extreme rating on a starfighter sized ship would be, two.

You can cut out the bomb bays entirely and remove 3 out of the 6 laser cannons listed and this can be approved as a bomber, as-is, or you can cut everything down considerably and raise the rating to extreme and rebalance the rest of the submission as necessary for that to work.

Your choice.

I've edited the submission to more closely compare to the Detryte it is supposed to be an analogue to. The Detritus has two minor advantages - 1 more forward weapon(5 standard laser analogues vs 2 heavy lasers, equivalent to 4 lasers) and the ability to carry missiles, the tubes' capacity having been cut in half. Both are identical so far as the factory goes stat-wise, but the Detryte is slightly weaker per raw as it was intended to be the 'export' heavy bomber to the Detritus being the 'faction' heavy bomber. Statistically both are inferior to the canon MG-100 StarFortress SF-17, which has 6 medium lasers(superior to both regarding forward firepower), 3 dual laser turrets(superior to both and equivalent to the much larger Coryphin in turrets), and a bomb bay fitting 1048 proton bombs, more ordnance than the armament of all the bays in a wing of fully loaded Detrituses combined, while also being dimensionally shorter and thinner than a single Detritus.

Regardless of what the wookieepedia article states for this, the ships in episode VIII were seen as super slow-moving ships that were completely unable to defend themselves and were more or less only capable of storing those proton bombs and then dropping them out of an open door at the base of the ship. There's no comparison between this submission and that canon ship, nor does staff, nor the factory or codex, use precedence in canon or on the board as a basis for any judgement made. As far as the factory is concerned, precedence does not exist.

This is still sitting at an extreme armament rating in terms of what you've listed in the armaments itself.

The missiles have been removed. The only difference now between this and the Detryte is that it possesses one extra forward-mounted laser weapon per the raw stats when compared to the Detryte, but is otherwise identical.
