STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
+ Resilience to the Dark Side: Being a member of the Miralukan order of Luka Sene, he has an above average resilience to the corrupting influences of the Sith and the dark side of the force.
+ Increased Force Sensitivity: His ability to see with the force has given him an increased sensitivity to it, and as such makes learning new powers and abilities easier. He is able to sense any living, or non-living thing that the force flows through.
+ Determined: He has a strong determination to become a Jedi, and as such he is able to force himself to push beyond the normal bounds of a Padawan's willpower.
- Cultural Ignorance: Due to his isolation on his home world settlement, he has little knowledge of cultures beyond his own world. This leads to his failure to adhere to foreign customs and lifestyles.
- Overwhelming Force: Due to being blind, his species relies on the force to see the things around them and the world beyond them. However, if too much force inhabited things are around him his sight will be useless. This includes large amounts of force powers being used at one time (i.g. He is a well-built man of rather average height with ebony hair and an eyeless face. His skin bears little to no marks of combat hinting at his sheltered life among his own people and his family. He is currently wearing an average traveling robe with standard civilian clothing. He carries no weapons save for a training blade.
BIOGRAPHY:
Young Desios Denaan: ( 0 - 12)
Desios Denaan was born to two leading members of the Miraluka order of Luka Sene; the Miraluka equivalent of Jedi, only they did not wield light-sabers or defend the galaxy. The Order itself was based on the adopted home-world of Alpheridies after their origin world entered into a phase of geophysical and geochemical instability (wookiepedia - Alpheridies) in which the atmosphere began to vent into space (again, wookiepedia - Alpheridies).
His mother and father were traditional Miraluka, in that they expected him to grow into a responsible man and to take up a position in the Luka Sene as they had done. But, this was not where his interests were placed. He had heard great tales of the Jedi before the Jedi Purge under Emperor Palpatine, and he had decided from the moment that he began to truly listen to the tales that he wanted to be a Jedi. Shielding the knowledge of his true intentions from his parents left him with a slight issue when confronted by authority figures, especially that of those whose opinions he has come to respect and obey.
At the age of seven, he was inducted into the Luka Sene, the youngest Miraluka to ever have been inducted into the order because of is natural talents with the Force. He would spend the days that he did not have to be at the Luka Sene at the Culu Memorial Center; a local Jedi academy on his home world. It was shortly after that his parents began to notice his disinterest in the Luka Sene, and the significant quantity of time spent among the Jedi at the academy on world. They began to realize that he was no longer travelling in their footsteps, instead forging a new path to walk on his own.
Teenage Desios Denaan: (13 - 19)
Throughout his youth, he had come to grow more and more entranced by the lifestyle of the Jedi and their beliefs, even going so far as to take a non-official apprenticeship under an elder Jedi Knight. The Knight taught him the ways of the Jedi and the purpose of their existence throughout the galaxy, but would never teach the Miraluka boy the ways of the Force. It was not the Knights place to teach him; despite Desios Denaan's constant pleas to teach him. Eventually, the Miraluka boy would give in and be satisfied with the knowledge that was being imparted to him on the ways of the Jedi and their code, as well as what it mean to become a Jedi.
This only further served to increased his already growing enthusiasm and surety in his decision to one day become a Jedi. After a time, when the Knight felt that Desios had learned all that he could from him, he dismissed the boy from his apprenticeship and would grow to become a primary figure in the choices and actions that Desios would make from that point forward.
Though the knowledge given to him by the Jedi Knight was just that, knowledge, he found himself still willing to become a Jedi and wanting to make a larger difference in the galaxy. It was with this in mind, that on the day of his nineteenth birth year, he would find himself saying goodbye to his parents as he began his journey to find the Jedi, and to begin his journey of becoming a Jedi Master.
It was on his journey from his home-world that he would find himself upon the criminal hub that was Nar Shaddaa. He hadn't realized that openly seeking the Jedi would lead to the significant amount of trouble that it did, as his world was isolated from the rest of the galaxy due to no trade routes being near the Abron System. Thankfully, by the will of the Force he had found himself becoming quick friends with a woman named [member="Nyx"] who would help him survive the trials of Nar Shaddaa and reach an old Jedi outpost to contact any available reinforcements in the vicinity.
Again, the Force seemed to favor him that day as Grandmaster [member=Corvus Raaf] happened to be in the vicinity of Nar Shaddaa and had intercepted his signal for help; the untrained Miraluka would be rescued by the Grandmaster with the aide of Nyx. He believes that he owes a debt to Nyx that he vowed he would one day repay when he had the power and ability to do so. Until then, he would strive to honor the assistance she provided and star the journey in truth, to become the Jedi that he always wanted to be.
Upon meditation, Akartin deemed himself unworthy of the Jedi Order for the time being, and as such requested that he be dropped at the nearest safe space port before the Grandmaster arrived on Ossus. He remained alone for another few weeks when he found a new home in the Techno Union, and wishing to start anew, he took the name Desios Denaan.
