Deshra Labs is a corporation focused on the improvement of biology through research and development, as well as cloning and implants. Though Deshra Labs has its own ideals and goals, the privately owned company is willing to take on contracts for uses of its cloning and implant services, for military, government and civilian use. DNA Samples and Templates must be approved before the Deshra Labs board and a decision made as to whether or not the template is worth using.
Deshra Labs is led by the vision that one day they can make the breakthrough that will ascend sentients across the galaxy through the uses of biological manipulation, implants to improve and enhance individual talents and abilities and use of clones to provide security, stability and cheap labour throughout the known galaxy.
Though they have a typical corporate exterior, Deshra Labs holds secrets beneath its meeting tables and sterile offices. Scientists and research staff are not limited by any form of ethics when it comes to their experimentation and making progress; only the progress itself is what matters to the company and its CEO. Though the corporation will always do its best to follow through on a contract when it's taken one on, they hold no particularl loyalties to one government or ideology; they are all paying customers after all, and politics mean little in science.
RATIONALE
After being away from his home planet of Zeltros for years, Magnus Deshra came back to discover his father's will had left him significant control over his own company, known for producing implants that were able to make all the stimulation one had experienced for that day downloadable. This was highly valued among the Zeltrons, and the company was doing better than had been expected. The will, however, had been kept a secret by the then-CEO who had taken over after Magnus' father.
Although it's not known exactly what happened, it's believed that the CEO cleaned out his account, sold all of his shares to Magnus Deshra for a pittance and left the planet, though it's not known where to. After taking control of his father's company, Magnus renamed it Deshra Labs, disregarding his old name and considering his Mandalorian heritage more relevant to him now.
Once he had full control and was settled in with the company, Magnus began to quickly restructure the corporation and focused it on scientific pursuits, rather than selling pleasure implants and party drugs. Deshra Labs HQ quickly grew in size and scope, as did its lab facilities. It continued to produce implants, the main source of income, though the scope began to expand into biological research and cloning, with negotiations meaning an Administrative Office and Laboratory containing Deshra's first cloning facility was built on Umbara.
