Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx

Denon

The sounds within the office building were always.... subdued. A testament to Cato's skills as an administrator which was why she was being promoted to oversee the facility that they had opened. The structure was opened, it brought people in who wanted to show how skilled they were in a fight... and some had talent. Soldiers could keep up their skills, security forces and those ones looking to impress could try... groups were fun to see and all paid a premium as the rewards one could get if they progressed far enough were worth a lot. The corporate sponsors for some of the teams that were trying to make it as far as they could and map or clear some of the floors. Ayumi had enjoyed it as the shops here in the district were able to sell plenty of food and they were improving with the latest in technologies that they had access to.

She sat behind her desk as they were bringing into her the latest... well the latest for her. They had designed a few suits and outfits that she would be able to look at and choose. To better interact with the new government that had come to Denon. There was a lot that was changing... mostly it seemed the High Republic out of Naboo wanted to make things better... and better meant something worthwhile. She had also seen Dominique Vexx had remained as a representative to Denon with them after the Alliance... which was a nice thing as well as they didn't change through them. She stood up and the twi'lek was there in the office as she shooed the others out and was looking at them. "There is something for you there as well." Ayumi said it as the twi'lek picked up a box and opened it up with a grin on her face.

"Oh trying to butter me up... that usually means you have a bad idea you want my support with." She said it and the woman looked at her. "Dumb and bad is a matter of opinion." She said it while picking one of the suits and slipping towards a partition. "Debatable boss, highly debatable." SHe said it and Ayumi moved out as she was walking out. The pants and boots on as she looked at them and nodded. Slipping on the shirt for a moment. "As I recall, I wasn't the one who decided on a tattoo on her butt when we visited zeltros." She said it doing the buttons and coming over helped with the dress when she looked at her and there was a nod of her head. "It fits." She said it while looking at the shirt and doing the cuffs for a moment. "It does and nothing under?" The twi'lek raised a look.

"No need, the suits are form fitted and don't want lines. Plus if I am going to meet with Senator Vexx again. Last time was at the office here... neutral ground since I have some things to talk with her about." She said it and stood there looking in the mirror for a moment as she double checked before sliding the jacket on for a moment and adjusting the collar of the shirt. "Hmmm buttoned or unbuttoned?" She said it and the twi'lek looked at her. "Unbuttoned... more casual looking at least and is this about what happened the other night?" She said it and Ayumi looked at her as she stood there. "No, that was fun... this is more actively improving the planet. Upcity is unlikely to fall behind in terms of technologies... we produce more food that we could ever eat. Se should be supplying it to the districts or selling it."

She said it and moved while looking at the suits as she grabbed a coat... it was based off of her trench for a moment but looked far more regal and fancy with the fur on it. She debated it when she was ehcking on things. "Plus if we can improve more of Denon it will only benefit us in the long run." She said it while walking and slid on her ear her interface and then she continued to walk with Cato. "So, invite her to the cove on the beach to talk. Have a few drinks and plan out all of your future together." The twi'lek said it when she was moving and Ayumi looked at her going into the lift. "I am talking about being involved in the political situations with the new government.. not.... you always have a smutty mind." The twi'lek looked at her in the lift as they were going and she spoke with a mock crying face.

"I.... I learned it from you." She said it as the doors opened and made a show of running slowly down the hall like she was distraught getting looks but Ayumi just walked after her with her arms crossed over her chest. "Are you done?" She said it as the doors came into view with the lobby and opened as Cato laughed. "Fine... go and get your political aspirations again.. I'll be here... well in the new offices I got. You can tell me all about it." She winked while walking off as she pulled up her own information on her interface. "To Senator Vexx, From the office of Director Pallopides. District nineteen of the Upcity. A request for a meeting within the district to discuss the current governmental changes and impact going forward. Please come as soon as possible. Private line to follow for direct access."

Ayumi saw she had sent it and walked the streets of the district as the people were dressed better now. The civilian style clothing that they had designed gave them protection and as the vendors on the streets had crates of food there was plenty being cooked. Other business after she left the area around the tower opened up as speeders and carts were getting and trading supplies. She could see the cafes of the entertainment district coming into view while she walked and got welcomes... hellos and some shook her hands. The improvements that they brought allowed them to constantly improve the designs of the homes and facilities for safety and quality of life. The gangs even loved it cause tourism and people coming to the district was a big thing so they actively protected their investment.

She continued down the street and enjoyed just the sight of it all as she ended up at the beach. The large silver vessels on the water, the white sands and the people... she could hear them all while her private boat was docked near the one building for the time being. The boardwalk that was stretching along it was filled slowly.. they were still building areas, securing some and making it have smaller rides and attractions for the visitors. Food stalls for the people and a muscle beach... work out equipment for some of the others as she could see many were there showing off. The dome of the district cleaning the air made it filtered and it was bright and sunny here for them with blue cloudless skies. She stood there and clapped with a few of the others at the ones posing as some other danced. Smiles were all around.

"Senator." The voice came out and Ayumi turned as she looked at a shorter woman with heavily tanned skin, gelled hair and she wore skyhigh heels. Still coming up smaller then the woman as she smiled. "Former senator and it is good to see use Ruchia. How is the hotel?" She said it with a smile though as her hands were grasped and the woman spoke. "Oh going well enough, we get all of the people who want to be close to the beach and when they hear we have a private cove that is only for adults.. they get even more excited." There were nods and more laughs to it as Ayumi walked towards the stalls as she got some food though while she continued on. Spending time among the people ikn the district was important enough for them as she was always bringing in more technological aspects.

Dominique stood before towering windows that stretched across her wide office in the Pentaplex. The view was far more breathtaking than it had been when she'd been a "mere" Senator and puppet of the Direx Board. Nothing like losing everything and then clawing it back with teeth and talons to make you appreciate the finer things. Admittedly, being the Alliance Senator had been far easier, of course; no one expected much of her, very few people thought her worth killing, and she had lived comfortably. Now? Well, not a lot might have changed, but for the fact Dominique actually did care about her homeworld. The temptation to make what differences she could -- without alienating her allies -- was there.

With a sigh, Dominique extended a pad out to her side for an aide to retrieve. "Contingency Five." Sometimes making Denon a better place meant a little pruning.

"Director, a message for you."

There was a slight turn to Dominique's head as her secretary had stepped into the office. "Message?"

"From the Office of Director Pallopides of Upcity. She's request an urgent meeting about governmental changes and impacts."

Ayumi. One of her last major public relations efforts before things started to fall apart. Part of an effort to establish an alternative management forum in the event the Board completely imploded in on itself as they'd been on track to do with their heavy-handed treatment to crush Darkwire. Things hadn't worked out, but the prior Senator had seemed... invested in making things better.

"Is my schedule clear, Dear?"

"It is, Director."

Never for long, she thought. "Have my transport ready in five minutes, and inform Director Pallopides' Office that I will join her." They could exchange time estimates based on traffic patterns and Executive travel prioritization. Visiting Upcity wouldn't be a terrible inconvenience either. Lovely District. If only there was enough resources and time to revitalize the entire planet so effectively. Not that the cost of living would decrease for the effort, but sacrifices had to be made for progress.

Once her Secretary left, Dominique turned from the window and checked her terminal briefly. No emergencies screaming for attention, it seemed. Clear to depart without the world burning down, she made for the door. It wouldn't take long to arrive. Though why Ayumi felt it was urgent to talk so suddenly rather than arranging something in the future... Well, if Dominique's schedule had been booked they'd have had to reschedule. Wasn't necessary today, it seemed, and it wouldn't hurt to get out of the office.

The armored transport would ferry Director and Senate Vexx from District One to Nineteen in short order. With the meeting location exchanged, they'd pick an area suitable for landing with minimal pedestrian intrusion -- an actual landing pad if there was one nearby, but the pilots wouldn't expect Dominique would walk for tens of minutes to get to her final destination either. Some things Directors didn't say, people just assumed; largely because there were far too many Directors that would scream about being "forced" to take a single, solitary "unnecessary" step. They at least abided certain markers Upcity had placed to keep over-eager pilots from landing on the beach.

Ayumi looked up when she saw the transport going overhead. One hand covering her eyes against the sun as it was being filtered and shining. Like a day at the beach she smiled. "Well.... maybe I should have told Cato where to have them land." She said it watching the transport going towards the tower but she debated if she wanted to walk back and lead the way over here... or. Her hand went o her communicator. "Cato, ah... small mistake. I thought she was going to land over here... bring her over to the springs so we can talk... it will also be like a mini vacation." She said it and knew it.. she could practically feel... hear and see mentally the twi'lek rolling her eyes so hard.

"THank you." She said it and went back to her ultimate goal as she laid there for the moment. Feeling the sun along herself and letting the zeltrons spread the massage oils. Another was moving and handling her hair with oils to help it before she smiled. "Ahhh this is the best." Meanwhile Cato felt her eye twitch the same as her Lekku as she stood there and had set up for a second transport... no need to walk though she could give the quick tour. The Falleen who had shown up Ghorza had been... interesting. From nar Shadda and basically brought back after Ayumi's visit... she was a brute... big, dumb and the twi'lek was fairly certain she had only been brought back to annoy her for the hiring a new assistant pestering.

"Senator." She said it when the transport was there and offering a smile with all of the truth to it.. the woman was professional... and dind't just do some things to drive her crazy. "Thank you for coming, I apologize for my mistake in hot giving the coordinates but I have a transport set up for us to go to where my boss wants to be able to meet. She wants to show you the latest that has been worked on and developed." She said it with a smile remaining as her hands came out to indicate a few things... main one being the filtered dome that gave the districts blue skies, bright sun on display and controlled the weather so it was nice and temperate.

Cato waited and expected a few things.. one Dominique was busy so a delay might not be welcomed but she was also interested in making things on Denon good... better.... great even if truth be told and Cato supported one thing... efficiency while the transport came to take them after a time. She looked at the tall Falleen. "Ghorza you ah... wait here I'll return and finish your orientation." She said it while getting the transport underway and spoke as she turned around to look at the woman offering a small twitch of her lekku but mostly she was prepared.. this is what she did after all and Ayumi wasn't one to put her in situations that were entirely bad.

"So to start since the last time you came here, we have managed to convert and upgrade more of the district. With newer power systems and resource management we are able to produce our own power and food. Towers for cleaning the air and the water recycling allows it to be largely independent. We have also begun construction efforts on additional facilities for more security forces and." She said it as two things came into view... well three. The boardwalk that went along the coast and road. Allowing food, rides and other entertainment to be seen. Thousands of people walking around and on the sandy beaches.

Then there was the large facility that dominated an area and the boardwalk ended on it at the one side while there was a pier of more rides further down."We have finished construction of our combat and adventuring facility. Allowing military, security forces to train, tourists and locals to participate in their own combat endeavors. With rewards and prizes for high ranks and scores. The credits that are pulled in have proven to be much more then expected allowing us to expand the beachfront into a pier with rides and attractions to build off of the entertainment districts cafes, opera houses and sports arena."

She offered a smile with that as they continued to pass over and the beachfront gave way to an ocean that stretched to the end and it looked endless. "The barrier dome allows for the illusion but it is only a few kilometers of ocean we have managed to develop so far, with jumps and recyclers for it. When you first came they were simply waterways but we have managed to expand them into something that hasn't been seen on Denon for a long time and many seek to have vacation homes here with beachfront properties. We are working to import artificial islands that can be used to populate it for more as well as have yachts under construction."

She said it with a clap of her hands and a nod of her head as the transport was going down towards a landing pad. The air shifting as she looked and saw several people waiting. "And one of our finer things. A hot springs resort developed by zeltrons and twi'lek engineers for the finest in terms of exotic beauty. With Atrisian influences and everything that could be done. It is exclusive to adult with no children allowed due to it having a clothing optional policy which is why it is secluded from the more public areas aand features exotic cuisine from around the galaxy being brought in or grown in the fisheries."

Cato said it as she exited the transport when it touched down and several zeltrons were coming around them offering smiles, drinks and any number of other things. Cato walking as she discussed who she was there to meet and went towards one of the changing rooms. "This way if you would." She said it and going there as there was plenty to see with the hot springs having various pools and its own beach where people were lounging and walking around. The rocks forming a barrier and above that a hardlight dome allowing it to look outwards while peering in showed the pools and beach without the people.

Cato waited and would let them do whatever they wanted as she walked along the stone and looked for where Ayumi was as she laid there lounging with a datapad over her chest as she looked up from it and at Cato and Dominique with a smile on her face putting it down on her lap for the moment. "Welcome Senator." She stayed there and brought an arm out as she pointed to the seat next to her. "Sit, relax, I know you are busy but I wanted to see what I could do to build off of our last meeting." There was a smile though and Cato rolled her eyes while she was walking away. "I am going back to the tower you hired new people and I need to train them."

Ayumi looked at Cato and smile. "Love you." She laughed though while sitting there and rolling out her shoulders. "This place is amazing, they do this deep tissue massage and have these oils that just make every part of you feel for a moment like an exposed nerve. It is instantly thrilling and will wake you up." She said it getting a small drink. "They also have some of the best drinks whether you are going for alcohol or non-alcoholic so order and feel free. They are good friends to me and contribute to Upcities expansion efforts as we build more and more." She said it and their lowest levels were even getting entertainment areas now almost to the surface.

Dominique reached up slowly to draw her glareshades down half a inch to peer at the Twi'lek that graciously approached with her apologies. Practically glowing golden rings regarded the other woman as she spoke. Did it mean anything? Was it unnerving with just how bright her gaze could be when fixed on a person? Who could say; the Director didn't bother explaining why the mannerism was used.

"Then let's be on our way," she replied calmly and with a smile to the invitation of another transport. Risky that, but unless Ayumi had radically changed Dominique expected she knew a strong ally when it came along. Unlike the first time they met, she was a Director on the Board now. It wouldn't do her efforts any favors to have an 'accident' arranged in flight.

Upcity, of course, had made gains of late. Good to hear the other woman's efforts had some effect. Dominique's brows rose when the beach was called to attention. It was difficult not to hear about it or see it from afar. "Really, Dear, it is quite the sight. I only hope sufficient reinforcement was added to its foundation. The last thing we need is a scandal with all that water descending into the lower levels." Denon might well be a towering abyss with plenty of room for an ocean -- or part of an ocean -- to occupy without drowning even a percent of the planet's population, but Dominique wasn't terribly interested in fielding that public relations nightmare. "Water is shockingly heavy, after all." And Ayumi hadn't stopped at merely a very large pool.

Hopefully the resort worlds wouldn't try anything either. For worlds full of sunshine their governments could be just as a dark as any other. A little sabotage to keep Denon's -- and the surroundings worlds' -- population going to their remote destinations wouldn't be unheard of. Well, Denon was a world that invited innovation of any kind; Dominique wouldn't complain about having a proper beach.

"No input by the Falleen?" Dominique asked pleasantly having seen one of those green creatures back at the office. "They do possess a different set of tastes, I suppose." More commanding in stature than a Zeltron or even a Twi'lek. "No matter, it sounds like quite the resort that would be the envy of entire planets." It wouldn't hurt to sample cuisine from around the galaxy. A number of Districts had it, but not as much variety as you would hope -- at least anywhere a Director should be found roaming about.

"Aren't they just darlings?" Dominique mused as they stepped from the transport and were suddenly 'accosted' by beautiful and handsome Zeltrons. Coruscant could eat their heart out. The Alliance might have Zeltros, but it would seem there'd be less need for people to venture so far for such service.

Her white jacket radiated beneath the beaming rays of their sun. Dominique adjusted its hue slightly using an eye gesture to reduce the glare just by her passing. It wouldn't hurt to be seen as a deity, but that was no reason to blind people.

At last Cato escorted Dominique to where Ayumi lounged comfortable in the sun. The Senator smiled as she glanced at the place Ayumi suggested she occupy. A slight twist permitted her to spy the Twi'lek as she seemed eager to leave them alone and return to the work. Dutiful.

Ayumi spoke of the district's latest additions, and Dominique turned back to listen attentively with a smile on her lips. She only deigned to sit when Ayumi took a brief pause. Sometimes an invitation was just an invitation, but there'd been a number of what could be considered power moves and Dominique hadn't been inclined to feed the latest one -- sitting on command -- in case too much was read into Dominique's politeness.

"Director. It is pleasant to see so much more has changed since we last spoke. I would love to hear about how you manage to finance all of this, alone, let along all the many improvements you've made. In our world's long history, most have considered it an impossible feat to revitalize our industrious world due to the sheer cost alone." It'd never been a problem of will or material -- only financial sense. Even a well-intentioned person with plenty of money would run into financial dire straights sooner or late. Was everything she'd done truly sustainable? Could it be replicated? There were plenty of questions.

"That is what was so urgent for us to discuss, wasn't it?" Dominique smirked. Ayumi led straight off with pointing out the creature comforts as if to have the two lay back and forget all their woes away from it all. An appealing offer, if true, but Dominique did want to confirm what the other woman intended by all this.

SHe offered a smile and spoke more casually. "Mixture of tourism, people love the shows and the food... plus we do offer a lot less crime. Still some but the gangs prefer making credits to making bodies." She kept her eyes on the woman as she sat down and it wasn't about a power play as she rolled onto her side and sat there looking at her. "And yes I asked you to come here for a few reasons... one to discuss or continue our discussion or how best to improve and work on Denon. The other was to get you into either a bikini or optional here on the clothing optional beach cause neither of us would be able to hide recording devices for salacious secrets."

She held her hand up and was ticking the fingers off as she had a smile though. "The other is because I am curious if you have tanlines." She stayed for a moments pause to indicate none on her person. "And to give you well reward sounds bad like it is conditional or you do as I say... offer isn't right either. I suppose it would just be a chance for the two of us to enjoy the brief moment." She shrugged and set her datapad aside on a smaller table though as she looked around and up with her hand bringing some fruit for a moment as she held it between her fingers. "Though if you want, I could be convinced to share some fruit."

She waited, a chance to see what she did but didn't take her eyes off of Dominiques for the moment. Instead going back to lounging. "We have so much being worked on here and financials arre important. Will be more so which is why the District has been increasing its tourism draws. We have a race way being installed to attract swoop and pod racers, we have the new facility for adventuring as it was which brings in registration and its own boost. Food, entertainment as well as some more things on the boardwalk. We have also been selling food, drink and more from here to the surrounding districts. The ocean sections has fisheries built into it to populate but it also means fresh fish for the markets."

She let that be there for a moment while keeping the grin on her face. "There is also out theme cafes, maids, jedi, fantasy types, even well classic senators and leaders of the galaxy. For good and bad with that... a naught palpatine.... impersonator in chaps aand a tight shirt certainly is a sight you will never forget... but sexy Amidala well makes you go all twitterpated." She said it and fanned herself for a moment. "There is also what we can do with our security forces who oversee and protect the residences. Since the corporate boards are not as influential here and we are more isolated... some like to pay a little extra for the added privacy."

She said it with a nod. "Everything else can fall into place and helping you will in the long run help me and the people. The technologies we have here and the resources can do a lot for the other districts." She waited again mostly to let Dominique speak and ask questions. It was a good time after all and she brought up a bottle. "Now come on, lets oil you up, have a little sun and make plans. I might even be convinced by you to call a few of those zeltrons over to well do something... I kind of want to be the one who feeds you a few grapes." She shrugged and grinned more to herself as she stayed there. "I make no apologies for beauty."

Dominique smiled as Ayumi explained the idyllic conditions of Upcity as its source of revenue. But was that alone truly enough to explain all she could see? One didn't simply build an ocean on a city-planet where the actual planet's surface might be several Levels down filled with populated or abandoned regions alike. Abandoned areas were usual such for a good reason as well, which made clean-up all that more difficult.

Her eyebrows rose above the glareshades as Ayumi suggested part of the reason to invite her there was to remove the possibility of recording devices. A smile pulled at Dominique's lips. "I am a Director on the Executive Board, my Dear, I won't be 'optionally' surrounded by so many people," she replied in good humor with the very thought.

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she turned her head aside to look at the surrounding area. "In the interests in fostering... relations," Dominique added after a moment. The white suit that wrapped about her body digitally shimmered before it melted into a lilac one-piece swimsuit with studded shoulder straps and belt. It concealed most of the bits people would love a holo of, while still exposing her arms and legs. "As for my tan lines? I may keep you in suspense."

As Ayumi began to talk about the District, Dominique reached up to slid the shades down her nose in order for her bright, golden rings to peer over them at the other woman. A broadened smile and slight lift of the brow accompanied certain comments. A track? Made her think of what a track that ran through an entire District would do. Adventuring was a curious one, but if it allowed for more... visceral experiences Dominique could see it thriving. Then her brow drew to together a bit at the thought of there being fisheries out in that body of water she'd had constructed; a rueful shake of the head followed suit.

"No doubt. Everything you've managed and thought to accomplish has been -- for the most part -- considered impractical, if not impossible. Any number of companies would be hungry to learn everything you used to make it possible." Dominique laid down atop the lounger, head propped up on one hand. "Do you really think all of it could be scaled for other Districts? What would be necessary to make it happen?"

"You do move fast,"
she added when Ayumi brought out a bottle and spoke of oiling Dominique up. Despite the quip, she didn't actually object to the idea. Was there risk? There was always risk trusting someone else, but what was life without a little risk? "If that's your intent, I suppose I should put on something a little more... appropriate. You wouldn't happen to have something, would you?"

"It's like something out of one of those romance novels," Ayumi said with a sly smile, glancing at Dominique. "And what a pleasant surprise to have you join me." She gestured to her own body, covered only in a light sheen of tanning oil. "Unfortunately, my dear, I don't have a spare. I take the Zeltron 'clothing optional' rule very, very seriously." She then turned her attention to her datapad, a playful smirk on her lips as she set it to the side.

"And I have learned the danger of taking too long. The funding isn't likely to vanish I told you what was there and I added a great deal of what I had... most if not all of it in fact. My families fortune should be used for something good and revitalizing a planet or at least making the framework for what could be... I'll take it." She said it when she was looking at Dominique though with a raised eyebrow. "And now all I am thinking about it the surprise."

She said it with a grin remaining on her face but also looked around. "But I wouldn't worry here... the safest place for concealment. The rock barrier is one thing but the dome is another it has a picture of the time of day taken and imposes it on the top so they see everything but won't see anyone." She said it while standing up and moving as she best down and her lower tattoo could be seen before she turned back around and moved to a small slip.

"I know you are always suspicious but Dominique." She said the name and looked at her to catch those colored eyes with her own dark honey that drew in the light. "I want what would be good for Denon, no manipulation, no power grab. Take the credit and lead if you want but lets make this a world that isn't just called a little Coruscant... lets make it able to rival the world." She said it and had a grin on her lips that showed in her eyes her own interest.

Ayumi sat on a tiny slip of Dominique's lounger, as still and unmoving as a statue, the bottle of sun tan lotion a weight in her hand. Her gaze, however, was anything but still, as she let it drift over Dominique. "Using the technologies we have here on the other districts would not be as expensive. we have a greater revenue stream now and can if we need it the high Republic for some aid." she said, her voice barely a whisper, betraying none of the calculated stillness of her body.

She let a small smile play on her lips, her eyes lingering on Dominique's form. "I'm a great believer in our future so much so I invested nearly all of my families fortunes and what I saved from the Republic as a senator," she continued, holding up the bottle of oil. "Now You wouldn't want to ruin a beautiful thing with a clumsy tan line, would you?" She said it as she allowed her body to relax.... allowed herself to breathe before she checked on more of the director.

"Plus, I still do want to show you all the things we do have. We can start spreading to districts eighteen, twenty, seventeen and twenty one to see how it goes and from there we can go through each district." She said it but remained there and she didn't need to move, her mind reaching out mostly to calm her own nerves that there was no one here who was dangerous.... that they weren't going to be used for something to humiliate each other or blackmail.

d9xT0Qh.png

Dominique smiled though her attention was divided between what Ayumi was saying and what her readout was telling her. The scan wasn't as comprehensive as if she'd done it herself, but a number of pre-programmed subroutines could usually sniff out indications not everything was as it seemed. It was usually enough to know of danger, even if she didn't know its exact nature.

Likewise, it wasn't difficult to see Ayumi had a particular interest in Dominique herself. That hadn't been expected. A twist to a complicated situation. It would hardly be effective if the woman thought to lather Dominique's invisible outfit. It was capable of creating all manner of fashions for her to wear, even at the spur of the moment, but it likely wouldn't know what to do with oil. Not to mention the tactile experience wouldn't be what Ayumi hoped for either.

"I don't care about credit. I care about results," Dominique replied. "When we first met I was content being just a Senator of Denon. That's no longer enough. I intend to bend the board to my will and realize our planet's potential, whatever it takes. Money and powers are means to an end." She reached up to slowly pull her shades away from her face to meet the other woman's eyes. Ayumi didn't seem flighty or uncertain about her own goals, but Dominique watched for her reaction regardless. How would challenging the entirety of the board settle with the other woman? It was a dangerous proposition. If things went wrong countless resources could be turned against them.

Slowly, Dominique slipped the shades into what appeared to be a pocket of thin air along her swimsuit. "I don't intend to leave without learning more about everything you've set in motion in Upcity." This meeting was not at all what she'd expected. She stood to her feet as the swimsuit rippled and became her white suit once more. Slowly Dominique reached around to begin removing it from her shoulders. "You won't disappoint me, will you, Ayumi?"

Once she shimmied out of the pants, Dominique folded her clothing carefully and set it aside. "Just promise not to splash my hair with water." There had to be some boundaries, and it took quite some time to make her hair absolutely perfect.

Her eyes remained on her.. the glasses going away while she checked more of it. The sounds of water lapping in the silence as she didn't do the disservice of looking down or at the form. Just slipping into a better position. The scent of the oil when the cap was popped and Ayumi's interest was taking in much more of it before she checked out Dominique. The skies above changing ever so slightly but she had a small smile going across her face that was tight lipped when she was breathing in the scent of the ocean.. even artificial and cleaned by microdroids it still smelled of salt and sand. She moved her free hand to her hair and pushed it to the side.

"It isn't your hair I was planning to get wet." She said it with a look but remained neutral as one hand came out. "But if you want to know everything in motion then it will be a longer story and if you want to go against the boards well... Have at them. They can be awfully shortsighted." Her movements were a slow, practiced dance. She smoothed the gel over with a cool slick touch. "I wasn't born on Denon. I never toiled here, I never struggled. THe finest education, the finest things that I could get.. and it worked. I was top of my class on Coruscant... and when I went on my first job I saw the dangers of exploitation as the person who hired me wanted me to identify objects of value."

She shifted, her body aligning as she worked the gel into a sheen, her touch firm but yielding "I was young and wanted to prove myself... also his wife was really hot and lonely and it was the desert so we needed to conserve water but... when I learned the truth I saw what ruthless ambition and only caring for the profits led one to do. I didn't want that so when I returned home I joined the junior senator program to make a difference.. I wanted to help the people." She said it for a moment. "But well you have seen how that can be.. though I was with the Republic where our chancellor was selling off ships and weapons and soldiers to the highest bidder while funneling the credits for it all into his own accounts."

She rolled her eyes being there and had moved to spread oil for a moment. "That was when my senator died, he was from here. I had visited there was an apart the best I could afford on my salary cause I had to make it on my own right." Her hands traced long, languid paths down the spine, the gel ensuring no drag, only a liquid-smooth connection. "Well used to be an apartment complex over there, a hundred rooms all packed with barely a bed and fresher but I wanted to show I could do it. It was why when the time came I came back here to improve it. A fellow senator thought I just wanted to avoid prying eyes but I wanted to come here where the people were. Try to make their lives better and for a moment." She smiled. "I did and then the funding was gone. The Republic was gone."

A brief pause as she reached for more gel, letting it drizzle in a slow cascade before spreading it with her forearm. "And the ones who had fought for it celebrated because they had picked and taken what they wanted. Exploited it to make themselves rich.... but I had managed to start the beginnings for Upcity." She was looking at it and moved her hands more with a practiced glide, the oil spreading. "Then well languishing as I was. I could go home but there was the sith there and then the Alliance. They were impressive but seemed to just be the same and the boards even Darkwire generally didn't bother coming out here. So I could be left alone but someone found me." Her eyebrow raised up with a smile. "And asked me if there was a way to adapt what we had here for the planet itself."

The smirk on her face was more with pure amusement. Her body moved in tandem with her hands now. "I haven't regretted it even if it has taken awhile. Upcity has things that will benefit the rest of Denon. There are ideas that could be used to vastly improve everything but my own idealism might not be the most helpful. I don't like the boards, I prefer just doing and invested a lot of my families credits into the investments here. The boardwalk... all of this, the sea, the islands. It is a part of it and well a chance cause if one district can do well enough then we should be able to adapt it to the others. A proof of concept as it were." She moved and stopped for a moment. "Turn your head please." A slow roll of her shoulders as she adjusted, her skin gleaming under the sunlight as it hung in the air.

Her touch slowed, lingering at the base of the neck, thumbs pressing in slow circles as she waited. "Plus well it is easier in most cases to just say we have great ambitions." Her hands moved with purpose again, long, gliding strokes from shoulder to wrist, the oil ensuring no resistance when she offered a small smile. "I have been working on more of course, gathering what I could. Funding for ships, for equipment, the tourism game and the adventurer facility." An arched brow, a smirk playing at her lips as she leaned in, her breath warm against an ear. "And it did bring me the chance to be around you again. THe High Republic is a lot of things but I only have so much stomach for it. I'll deal with them as needed but I am happy to help you who has the better personality."

The amusement in her voice was palpable as she pulled back slightly, her hands resuming their rhythmic full body glide. "I am looking to improve the lives of the many to benefit all of us and I have a way to propose it. If you can help with the proposal well... we can convince the boards if we have a chance. The profits would see a lot and it would allow us to use the improved technologies in a way that will allow Denon to prosper in the long run instead of slowly decaying." She remained there for a moment but moved back to look at her and offer a small smile. "If you want to roll over. I can get the front... want it to all be nice and even."
