  • Standard Navigational Systems
  • Standard Repulsorlift Engines
  • Standard Targeting Systems
  • Can Enter Atmosphere and Land
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Comm-scan: Advanced sensory equipment allows it to detect threats, risks and potential targets in the field.
  • Universal Energy Cage (1)
Strengths:
  • Swarm: Its relative size, cheap nature and a design that minimizes the need for maintenance allows it to pack a ton of them into a single squadron. One squadron of Delo-class Dart Fighters possess up to 28 drones.
  • Rapid: They are quite a bit faster and more agile than ships its size and class.
Weaknesses:
  • No shields: Because of its extra energy into the engines (one rating over) the drone fighter has no juice left for any shield units. Instead it has to resort to its hull. The Teno Alloy allows it to take some hits, but it is severely less resistant against damage than ships of its class.
  • Armament: Against Galactic standard targets they need to employ swarm tactics to put a dent in them. For this reason they are more effective employed against low-tech targets and environments.
  • Hyperdrive: It has none. They are dependent on carriers or other starships that have the ability to carry them as squadrons.
Description: The Delo-class Dart Fighter is a main staple of any self-respecting marauder, pirate king or raider- focused on cheap acquisition, production and reliability the main tactic of the Delo is to throw them in large numbers at your enemy, until they decide to just give up. They are very reliable, have little need for maintenance (the droid brain integrated has the ability for minor self-repair much like a maintenance droid) and are very speed once they are in the air (or in space). Furthermore they come with powerful sensory equipment to detect possible threats and opportunities while they operate.

With every positive comes a negative, of course.

Much of its power has gone into the engines and droid capabilities which has left it without a shield system. The Teno Alloy allows it to take several hits without immediately being disabled, but it is still noticeably more fragile than ships its class. Furthermore its weapon systems aren't anything to write home about. Comparable to the ancient Vulture droids they need to employ swarm tactics to be effective against Core-standard tech.

Usually this means that pirates (or other owners) utilize the drones to attack low-level tech targets. Pre-space civilizations, backwater worlds or even as surprise attacks, before the actual assault.

One interesting addition to the Dart Fighter is a relatively small amount of cargo space inside. This could be used to stash valuables or up to two regular-sized humans. It won't be comfortable, they will probably be banged up because the inertial compensators weren't really designed with humans in mind, but if a pirate is in a hurry? The option is there. This smol cargo space comes included with an equally smol maintenance droid (very simple design, standard model) that is capable of tugging stuff into the cargo space if necessary. The cramped holding space has a comparable ability to the Universal Energy Cages.

If the UEC is activated then only one human is capable of being carried, because of the lack of space around the energy field.
