Defending the Banner [First Order Awards Ceremony]

There were noticeable differences on Skye these days. The alien populace toiled as they normally did, though it was impossible to escape the looming shadow of the black-and-red banner of the First Order symbol that now hung from the highest building to the smallest window sill. Change had come to Skye, and the colors of the First Order emblazoned everywhere would not let the population forget it. The streets were clean and orderly, even more so than they had been, as was the First Order's way with subjugated planets. This was mostly due to the fact that any dissenters had been promptly removed from existence.

The town square below the Governor's office was especially different today, being the host of a military parade. A Legion under the command of General Ludolf Vaas stood in perfect symmetry below, displaying the Order's commitment to diligence and mastery. Above, the Governor's office was flecked by several broken windows and charred durasteel where the bomb had gone off, nearly killing [member="Natasi Fortan"] in the process. The damage served as the only visual blight to an otherwise flawless campaign, and it reminded the men of the First Order, including Vaas himself, of the eternal presence of their enemies. Yet in the face of such fear and hostility, the General was resolved to celebrate.

His long black officer's coat moving easily in the wind, Ludolf approached the podium to address his soldiers.

"Men of the First Order," He said, a microphone carrying his echoing voice to the mass of silent warriors, "Today we stand victorious at the end of our first campaign. There are those throughout the galaxy who would pay no mind to us, who would dismiss us as irrelevant. To that I say, all the better. As you stand here before me, you have proven to the galaxy that the First Order is indeed not to be trifled with. You have found honor and victory here on the planet of Skye. And as you stand here today, you live and breathe a historic moment. A new Order that shall span a thousand years is carried on your shoulders, and it flows through your veins. We are that Order!'

Ludolf would pause and let the troops hail him for a moment. This day would be about honoring those servants of the First Order who had distinguished themselves notably on Skye, in particular Agent Razelle Breuner and a Stormtrooper, BG-4463, and they would receive their reward here for all to see. General Vaas had told them to be ready; he hoped that they were by now.
