Defending against Silver

Baroness Magrath

Guest
A small world of little consequence, nestled within a system that slipped quietly through the Galaxy, hidden at the edge of the Tingel Arm. It had survived the Gulag Plague due to its isolation, and self imposed quarantine; though the Galaxy around it was continuing to change. How long could the Magraths remain without some other being coming through, without some group of individuals to demand that they conform to their ideals and beliefs? The woman leaned back in her seat, her legs crossed one over the other as she permitted a sigh to escape her lips. That was what she was dealing with; at least in her mind it appeared to be as such.

"The Barbarians are at the Gate..."

She spoke softly to herself, the room bathed in the pale blue light of a holographic projector. Her hues falling upon the map that slowly rotated before her; a single slowly ebbing green dot marking her place. The world of Avidon within the Avidonian System, a green jewel upon the void, and a world that was more valuable than many. Sure, pure wealth was good, and a world that was covered in gems or had such treasures hidden beneath its crust was what many sought out. She though understood that her home was important, it was worth much more than aurodium because of what it produced.

"Food..."

The words were almost like a whisper as her eyes squinted, still focused upon the map as it slowly rotated, the ever blinking green light a reminder of just how close she was to losing everything. Not far from her home lay those that she saw as nothing more than another dictator. A dictator of ideals. A dictator of beliefs. The Silver Sanctum Coalition; or what ever it was being called by those within its borders. She did not want that for Avidon, she didn't want it becoming another conquest for some group of Jedi that sought to right everything in the galaxy under the guise of protection.

No, the Avidonian System would protect itself; yet how could it stand against those that could muster the strength of dozens of systems? Had it been just a few short years ago and her eyes would have seen them as liberators or even potential allies against a far more sinister evil; that of the Primeval. Even those worlds though fell and we now a carcass to be carved up as eyes across the void fell upon those worlds.

Quietly she rapped her fingers upon the large table before her, carefully weighing the options that were available. Could she open her system to the Coalition? No, that was a thought that had to be pushed from her mind immediately. For all that the Avidonian System was, what it held, she was sure that they would seek to topple its institutions under the guise of what is right, without the forethought of replacing that structure with anything else.

Leaning forward, her slender finger pressed a small button upon an intercom.

"Send them in..."

Leaning back slowly, her finger slipped from the button, the simple static reply of a 'yes ma'am' was returned. Quietly she placed her arms upon the arm rests of her chair, her eyes falling upon the door at the far end of the table. A soft smirk slipped across her lips as she watched the doors open, the figures of her guests appearing in silhouette. Raising a single arm, she motioned towards the chairs that sat along the edges of the long table, offering them a seat.

"Please... Sit. We've much to discuss."

Politics had never been of a great deal of interest to Aria. Half of the time it was nothing but people making up lie after lie to try and convince people o abide by their policies, and all of the time it was people arguing over who to be friends with, who to pick fights with and how to spend their money. As far as Aria was concerned, lying was for people who weren't creative enough to find other ways to support their case, there was no point starting a war with anybody unless you would profit from all of the consequences, and money had never mattered that much to her anyway.

However, the Sith were another matter. Forever the enemies of the Jedi and of the Silver Sanctum, it was her duty as a Silver Jedi to help sort out any trouble that the Sith were causing. When a mysterious Sith noblewoman had arranged for a meeting - the details had been vague - Aria had seen a chance to prove herself as part of the Sanctum and asked to come with the others.

Wearing a grey Jedi robe that perfectly showcased her alignment, Aria followed in and at the woman's request, took a seat.
