STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ Pilot: Who doesn't love being one of the rare people who can keep track of a dogfight in space.
- Combat skills: He's an OK shot with a pistol.... that's about it.
- Honor: In actual, physical combat, he's been known to have issues with his killing instinct.
APPEARANCE: He wears a flightsuit, obviously. In fact, he wears it quite a lot. Doesn't have much of a life beyond flight sims, mission briefs and being in the void. But he's a generally identifiable sort, given his build. A bit thin, athletic, average in height. Nothing that would draw attention.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born on Coruscant, Declan spent much of his younger days monitoring the situation that was the changing galactic landscape. An avid follower of the original Sith-Mandalorian War and the Republic intervention that saved Mandalore, he often spent his days keeping up with the latest and greatest in military technology. Mostly the fighters, however, as he was never a very physically capable sort.
As he aged, the interest in fighters became an almost ingrained prospect for his future. Which is to say that by the time he entered secondary school he knew what he was committed to. Once the One Sith took Coruscant, however, his plans were momentarily derailed. He bounced around nearby worlds before settling in on Ossus. He signed up the moment he could, and became a fighter pilot for the Republic.
The same as any other would-be space jockey, he found his formative training immensely and almost insurmountably difficult. Having lived on a planet his whole life, adjusting to six degrees of motion took more than a little getting used to. Bouts of vertigo and motion sickness followed him for the first few weeks of training, usually coming in fits and starts after using the simulator. This was mostly just his mind trying to come to grips with the high speeds at which he could move in any direction.
Eventually, however, he got over this and wound up stationed on Manaan - a world of hot contention between the Sith and Republic, typically speaking.
