RANK:
N/a

SPECIES: Human

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Smooth Criminal (+): When it comes to business negotiations, Marras can certainly play the part. Growing up with Jawas allowed him to learn shrewd business techniques and allowed him to develop a threatening demeanor when he acted as their enforcer. Thanks to his modified skull mask, he's able to sound much more menacing and cruel thanks to it's built in voice change function. Because of his lack of formal combat training, he resorts to negotiation when up against an opponent much more lethal than he is.

Junk Master Flex (+): Another benefit of growing up with Jawas was learning to take seemingly useless junk and give it a purpose. Jawas are masters of jerry rigging and repairing a variety of machinery, and Marras is no different.

I Put All My Points In Rat Speak (+): Marras is fluent in Jawaese.

No Hablo Inglés (-): While he is human, Marras isn't fluent in English thanks to his upbringing. He knows enough to have basic conversations, but not enough for more complex conversations, which is why he prefers speaking in Jawaese.

What's Mine Is Mine Is Mine (-): Marras does not like sharing at all, and is very greedy by nature. As such, he prefers to work alone when on a job, as working with partners means splitting the money. Despite that, he can be persuaded to work with others if the conditions are right, but they rarely ever are. Additionally, he's not above killing those he works with if it means he'll get a larger share. Having said that, though, he doesn't do this very often, as he feels that it's bad for business, and generally uses it if his partner starts acting problematic (jeopardizing the mission or endangering Marras).

Anger Issues?! NO! SHUT UP!! (-): While he is able to keep a cool head during negotiations, at least for the most part... Marras is definitely not perfect. He has a very violent temper, and has made very poor choices in the past when he has acted in anger, often times putting him in a worse situation than he was previously in. Worse still, it takes him longer than the average person to calm down.

List of Pet Peeves (Measured on a scale of 1-5, with five being blind rage):
  1. People who are unable to simplify their words, or just get to the point. Anger level 2 (Mild annoyance/No violence needed, but will lose cool if person goes on for too long)
  2. Lip smacking noises when people are eating, and other poor table manners. Anger level 1 (General annoyance/No violence needed, able to remain polite, but may say something if it goes on for too long, depending on situation)
  3. Being accused of doing something he hasn't done (Stealing, cheating, general misconduct, etc.). Anger level 3 (General outrage/May react violently if pushed further)
  4. Not getting what was promised to him, be it for a job or otherwise. Anger level 4 (Actual anger/Will act violently, first to inanimate objects, then to people)
  5. People who run their mouth, giving away information that Marras prefers to be kept secret (This is reserved for the rare instances when he's forced to work with someone) Anger level 3 (General Outrage/Primarily resorts to threats, but will use minor violence if partner doesn't listen)
  6. Having his money or a personal belonging stolen. Anger level 5 (Blinding Rage/Reacts with extreme violence, and will not calm down until he has either retrieved what he had lost and has violently dispatched the person who took from him, or he has been knocked out)

I Know How To Sword! Honest!! (-): While Marras wields a lightsaber, he's not a master of one as he was not properly trained, nor is he familiar with any known fighting style that requires a lightsaber. To compensate, Marras likes using other weapons like blasters and grenades. While fighting dirty could give him an edge against the right opponent, this is not a safe bet against all opponents.

Forceful Thug (-): Like his skills with a lightsaber, Marras' skill with the force is that of a novice. He can use the force to push, pull, or hold something/someone in place (Up to species slightly larger than the average human) and use it as a means of escape (Landing safely from a high place), but beyond that he's at a loss should he fight a more skilled opponent. As such, Marras prefers to use the force to either intimidate, or as an added boost to his combat tactics when using his lightsaber or other weapons he has on him.

Grrr I'm GoNnA bLOw uP KaSHyYyK StAdIuM...FOr I aM A SitH!! (-): As said above, Marras can play the part of a threatening Sith warrior. That being said, he's anything but, and if he comes across an opponent capable of seeing through his act, Marras' true nature is revealed: an easily flustered coward willing to do almost anything to survive.

PERSONALITY: Marras is both selfish and greedy. Though these are traits that he developed early on at a young age, they became much worse over time. He enjoys deceiving others. While not afraid to fight back (especially if his life is on the line), any fight that he can avoid altogether with words alone is welcome thing in his mind. A lot of this was taught to him by the Jawas who raised him, as they were smaller and weren't as imposing as other races.

Though they took him in and cared for him, Marras doesn't have "love" for the Jawas, per-se. He is thankful for the skills they gave him, as well as the kindness they showed, especially in his later years. Having said that, deep down he feels they didn't do it out of love or pity, but rather it would be useful to have someone bigger than them on their side should an unsatisfied customer came along. With a small few of the Jawas seeing him as weak growing up, he feels that this confirms that they didn't see him as one of their own, despite how hard he worked to gain their approval.

This is where a lot of his anger issues came from. Especially when not being given what was promised to him, as some of the Jawas sought to use his big size to their advantage; putting more work on him while they relaxed and took all the credit.

Still, as bitter as he can be at times, he's no stranger to kindness. There were more Jawas impressed by his technological skills than those who saw him as a tool. There were two Jawas in particular he was on very good terms with. Tsur Umir, one of the elders, and B'onid "Bow" Dhineba. Tsur Umir was the one who gave Marras' first name, having said "(Oh, he's a fat one, isn't he?)" when he and the rest of the scouting party found Marras in the wreckage of a ship. Tsur used to tease Marras a lot, but was also the one who taught Marras the most, specifically when it came to jerry rigging, as well as fast talking during a business transaction.

As for B'onid, or "Bow" as she was often called because of the pretty red bow she pinned to her hood (A gift from her late mother), she grew up alongside Marras, thinking he was a deformed Jawa all throughout their youth as he wore Jawa clothes until he became a teen. Because she saw him as such, she did everything she could to make him feel welcome, and scolded others who treated him badly. Despite this, they didn't truly become friends until a fateful event shortly after Marras turned eleven. Two young Jawas, Nozz and Mazz, started picking on Bow because of how she treated Marras. One of them snatched the bow from her hood and accidentally dropped it under a floor grating in the sand crawler.

Despite being unable to reach it, Marras still tried to retrieve it with his hand, having found a large enough hole two feet away from where the bow was. Unbeknownst to Marras, he had used the force to pull the bow to him (at the time he and B'onid thought it slid over to him because of the Sand Crawler moving). From then on, the two were inseparable. Always working together in every task given to them.

Unfortunately, "Bow" was one of the Jawas who died when Dy Soont attacked. She tried to protect Marras by drawing the Sith's attention with her blaster. She succeeded... but in doing so, Dy Soont deflected the blast with his lightsaber, sending it right back at "Bow's face. This traumatized Marras. The event was a major influence in his decision to kill his Master, as well as a small influence in Marras' preferences in working alone on jobs. Dy Soont also physically abused Marras, beating and whipping him whenever Marras didn't perform to his standards, which were exceptionally high as Dy Soont was a very arrogant master (which fueled Marras' distaste for people who ran their mouth a lot).

Originally Marras' goal was to master all of Dy Soont's training and kill him as he slept, but the bounty hunters sent to kill his master forced him to adjust his strategy (an event that he would take to heart, seeing it as a lesson in having flexible plans). He found sick pleasure in every wound his master received, seeing it as punishment for robbing Marras of his friend. Killing Dy Soont was pure elation, and though he doesn't always seek to kill others when forced to work together with someone, he doesn't shy away from it either. Seeing it more as a "last resort" reserved for only the most arrogant and troublesome of individuals.

With this said, it would be understandable for Marras to hate Sith altogether. He doesn't, of course. In fact, Marras firmly believes that not all Sith are like his master, seeing himself as proof of that in spite of his lack of training. Still, he's not too eager to make friends with them, let alone anyone. Instead, he uses their sinister reputation as well as his unique appearance as a means to survive and make as much money while doing so.

In summary, Marras can be a cruel and murderous individual, but that's mostly out of necessity, or when someone pushes him way too far. He is selfish and greedy, but was made that way due to his upbringing as a human orphan living among Jawas. Deep down, Marras is a lonely soul. He does find excitement in the wild and free life he lives now... but he also misses the simple life he had on the sand crawler. That, and despite his near religious-like worship of money and treasure as well as his firm belief that money makes many aspects of life easier... he'd trade every last cent he earned if it meant having "Bow" back.

APPEARANCE:
Marras is a Caucasian human with dark brown hair that is short on the right side of his scalp, as well as the back, but stretches down to his chin on the left side. He usually has a goatee on his chin, but sometimes shaves it down to nothing but a soul patch. He's five-foot-eleven, but wears custom made black combat boots that make him appear to be six-foot-four. He has wide shoulders, and is somewhat muscular in appearance. He is usually seen wearing a XXL black shirt, and a pair of baggy black jeans, but will wear lighter colored clothing. However, there are three items he never takes off in front of others: his light brown hooded robes (A personal keepsake from his time with the Jawas he grew up with, keeps meaning to dye it black but forgets), his black and red fingerless leather and metal combat gloves, and his skull mask (Once an ordinary combat grade mask with a built in thermal imaging system, Marras modified it with voice changing technology). Also, Marras is an amputee missing his left arm. In its place he has a B1 Battle Droid arm that he modified to have a laser cannon, as well as a flame thrower.

He also wears a combat belt that has a wide array of holsters and compartments on it for the tools and weapons he carries. So far he carries a satchel which houses his various repair tools (wrenches, screw drivers, portable soldering devices, etc.), as well as his lightsaber. The lightsaber in question is not his, but rather his late master's. It is a single blade lightsaber (red kyber crystal) with a simple appearance, and a red silk ribbon tied at the end.

BIOGRAPHY:
Marras never new his parents, or his real name for that matter. As a baby he was found by Jawas on Tatooine who stumbled upon a recently crashed ship (He lost his left arm in the crash). The Jawas took him in with the intent of selling him off right away, but later changed their minds, feeling that if they could teach him their skills that he'd be worth a lot more to the right buyer. By the age of thirteen he was just as skilled as any other Jawa when it came to repairing droids or if something in the sand crawler broke down. As he grew older, Marras became taller, which the Jawas saw as an added bonus. The bigger he got, the heavier the things he could lift that the Jawas couldn't. That, and if they made him look mean enough, they'd have a strong enforcer on their hands should a deal ever go sour.

By Seventeen, Marras had become an intimidating enforcer, thanks in no small part to the mask the Jawas found during a salvage run. Having modified the outdated B1 Battle Droid arm the Jawas gave him with a laser canon and a flamethrower, and adding a voice changer to the combat mask they gave him, none dared to provoke the Jawas when Marras was on watch. One day, though, Marras and his Jawas were attacked by an old man wearing black robes. The man in question needed parts to repair his ship, but refused to pay the Jawas. He revealed himself as the Sith Darth Dy Soont, and began slaughtering the Jawas. Marras, though not a match for the Sith, tried to fight back anyway. He was easily overpowered by Dy Soont, but in the scuffle was saved by his friend B'onid, who died in her attempt to save Marras. The event enraged Marras, who shoved Dy Soont away with a force push. Having fully awoken to the force, Marras sought to kill Dy Soont or die trying.

That was when Dy Soont offered to train him. Promising him great power beyond Marras' imagining. Marras agreed, but on the condition that he spare the lives of the remaining Jawas (while also secretly plotting to kill Dy Soont as vengeance for the loss of his friend). Dy Soont agreed. After Marras repaired his ship, the two traveled to Nabaras, a backwater planet with lush rainforests and long night cycles. Barely a month in, a group of bounty hunters tracked them down thanks to the Jawas. Dy Soont instructed Marras to aid him from the shadows while Dy Soont would take on the bounty hunters head on. With the battle turning long and bloody, Marras had a better idea. Biding his time, he watched as his master managed to kill all but two of the bounty hunters. Exhausted, Dy Soont was severely wounded by the remaining hunters. Only then did Marras strike, shooting the two hunters in the back with his droid arm's laser cannon. He then finished his master off by burning him alive with the droid arm's flamethrower. He then looted the bodies, taking his master's lightsaber as his own, as well as some of the weapons the hunters carried. One of them had a data pad with information detailing a bounty with his Master's information, as well as info on the client who hired the hunters. He then left Nabaras in the ship the hunters used, and flew off to find the one who hired the bounty hunters.

Upon finding the client (A Chagrian named Barla Net), Marras introduced himself as Darth Marras, the student of Master Dysoont. He promised the Chagrian that he would not avenge his master, provided that the Chagrian pay Marras what the bounty hunters were promised. Sensing a bluff, Barla Net sicced two of his strongest thugs on Marras. Despite lacking formal training, Marras killed the two thugs by knocking them off their feet with the force and then finishing them off with his master's lightsaber. He then used the force to choke Barla Net until the Chagrian agreed to pay him. He then sold the ship he stole from the dead hunters, and traded it in for a ship of his own that he called The Flicker Bat.

Word gradually began to spread about Darth Marras, the Sith who hungered for money. Though he liked the life he more or less stumbled into, Marras, as greedy as he was, knew better than to bite off more than he could chew. He would only take on jobs that he knew he could easily win. And if someone tried to pay him less than he felt he deserved, then his appearance, lightsaber, and reputation with Barla Net would get him what he wanted. Marras may not have been a true Sith, but his clients didn't need to know that. He would make sure that they saw him as nothing less than cruel and murderous... but certainly not a stranger when it came to business.

SHIP:
He flies around in a small travelling vessel made to carry a maximum of three people. It has the appearance of a sting ray, and has been painted jet black with bright red stripes. Outfitted with two high speed engines and warp drive capability, Marras refers to this ship as "The Flicker Bat". It has two front mounted laser turrets and moderate energy shielding, but little else when it comes to combat.
