BIOGRAPHY

{3712BBY - 3668 BBY}
Maiden of the Sith Empire
In her first life, Darth Hauntruss, was born Val'Ryss Zankarr in the Wild Space Region. Born Human she was alone since she could remember. She got her name from the slaver merchants who discovered her, they donated their first names to create her first and surname - Val'Ryss Zankarr. On the slaver ships, she was made an errand child doomed to serve the rest of her life. However, later she would find her self in the far edges of the Outer Rim - sold to slave mining corporations. It is there that the ever expanding Sith Empire - reborn under Sith Emperor Vitaite swallowed the planet the corporation worked upon. For Val'Ryss it was merely one master to another, the child never knew freedom, but, she was whipped into the lifestyle of brutal obedience.
During the occupation of the mining corp world, Val'Ryss would discover her powers - but, more fatefully the Sith Knights running the labour camps would discover it. Val'Ryss in desperation hiding from a labour enforcer would scream a burst of force energy that dislodged a bolder killing the enforcer, crushing his skull. Discovering this the Sith Knights took Val'Ryss and imprisoned her. She was only fifteen. But, while some Sith feared her and demanded her execution, one saw potential. It was Darth Jadus, the master of Sith Intelligence, who found a use for the adept. Taking her in he moulded her early on. Val'Ryss proved a great servant, obedient to a deadly degree. When ordered to kill her fellow acolytes she dispensed his will with supreme prejudice. Afterall, Val'Ryss had been a slave all her life. But, the battle against her acolytes damaged Val'Ryss. Jadus had her repaired through Sith Magic and this would be the birth of the dark corruption that would empower and also eat away at Val'Ryss's soul, for centuries to come.
By the time of the Sith Empire's return and the beginning of the Great Galactic War, Val'Ryss had risen to Sith Knight, and had become a brutal practitioner of the Dark Side. Val'Ryss had an appetite for pain and death. She drew from her enslaved rage and was known by the legions she commanded as the Defiler. With every battle she fell deeper and deeper, and grew hungrier and hungrier for Sith power. Val'Ryss began to feel empowered - she would be a slave no more.
From this time onward, Val'Ryss made her own plans. Although she participated in the campaigns of the Sith against the Old Republic, increasingly she became obsessed with gathering ancient red-pure-blood Sith artifacts and studying their ways. She became a dangerous practitioner of Sith Magic and lost arts. Her powers grew, and so did her twisted control over life. She became proficient in warping flesh and reality to her means. She experimented on failed apprentices and P.O.W's. Soon, her operations gained the attention of the Dark Council. They deemed her thirst for power a threat, and as a twist of fate it was Jadus who orchestrated her exile. Just as the war between Sith and Jedi cooled into a seemingly eternal Cold War, Val'Ryss upon her ascendancy was cornered and forced to flee. Her facilities destroyed and what legions she had wasted.
