Strengths:
-Lights absorbing cell: Webbed around the three spurs on top of the hilt is a device mainly used in the creation of darksticks, a cell that creates a electromagnetic field to bend light and drain the intermediate area from light, obscuring the vision of all in range, It is activated by a button below the one used to activate the blade. It has an effect range of three meters.
-Stygium Crystal: Besides the focus crystal, the blade is outfitted with a stygium crystal, which are commonly known for their use in stealth devices. Those skilled in hiding with the use of the force are known to be more effective and focused on their cloak when having one with them
-Hidden Blade: On the opposite side of the actual blade is a hidden switchblade made out of durasteel, that can be released by pressing a hidden button on the opposite side of the activation button
-Echoes of the Past: The blade is using the same natural red lightsaber crystal as Abyss former weapon. Quote from Factory Sub:"Even centuries after the death of its original owner, the violent echoes of death and hate can be heard by these strong in the force. An individual with ties to the dark side can use these echoes to guide his hand in combat. While this does not make someone a master duelist, it does amplify the skills already possessed."
Weaknesses:
-Complex: Compared to most lightsaber this one is outfitted with a number of gadgets, that while useful also make the weapon more complex and therefore harder to repair and easier to affect by emp and similar things.
-One wrong move: The button for the switchblade isn't openly visible. When used without caution, the user can easily stab himself with the hidden blade.
-Contradiction: Using the lightsabers light absorbing cell with blade still ignited makes the effect counterproductive as the red blade still can be seen in the darkness, giving an opponent the option to easily locate the wielder. Only when either combined with another weapon or when using the hidden blade the effect becomes actually useful.
Description: After Abyss old blade broken in his battle against the sith lord Darth Ferus, he had to fall back on spare blades found on the numerous battlefields he wandered upon, or weapons outside the traditional sith and jedi weapon. For some time he was satisfied with this, but as time passed on, the need to have a personal weapon suited to his needs reemerged. Weeks were spend with precise planning, and as much with the actual construction. Fitting all the different, rather exotic things in one weapon was no easy task, but in the end it was worth its time. A weapon was forged that perfectly represented the way its creator fought, one that gave him to asses up his sleeve and another one hidden his boot. Not only can the blade in the hilt be used to surprise an enemy mid combat, it also makes the weapon very versatile, even allowing to use it when there is a need to be unheard and unseen. The light absorbing cell is another effective trick, one that can be used either to escape in a fight Abyss couldn't win, or to to get an advantage over an opponent as had been a man of the shadows for long. As a memory of his old blade, this one uses the same red crystal as the old one, giving Abyss the power to draw upon the past in his fights once more.
