Darkside, Lightside...

Krystal

K....E....L....

The whine of her engines filled Krystal's ears as she dove and flew across the sky, tightly looping and falling in tight spirals.

S... I....

The landscape below her was tranquil and quiet. She would have felt guilty for destroying the peace, had it not been for the woman standing on the stone balcony at the edge of the glass lake. That woman deserved the world and more, and Krystal would do whatever she needed to to show her that. Her heart seemed to jump into her throat as she plummeted towards the water, pulling up at the last moment to shoot towards the shore. It was a maneuver she had practiced many times before, but she still felt the flicker of fear that something might go wrong..

E...

She stopped her ship in front of the woman, and stepped out.

"Darkside, Lightside.... It doesn't matter as long as you're by my side." She held out a bouquet of flowers that she had bought off-planet, and a smile lit up her face as she turned to see what she had painted in the sky.

Only one word went through Kelsie's mind: What?

The young woman had tracked down Krystal and had spent a while now trying to get acquainted with her. She realized she'd probably left a bad first impression after ditching the other young woman back when they'd been at the Forge festival on Kerkoidia. It was now apparent that the impression she was currently making had been the wrong one as well -- she knew she tended to have that sort of effect on people, but she hadn't been trying at all with Krystal. Where did she go wrong?

Kelsie's eyes had followed the VCX-100 in the distance as it flew in those odd letters, then watched as it set down nearby and as Krystal stepped out and towards her. Then, finally, her eyes settled on the bouquet of flowers that the blonde was holding out. It was several seconds before Kelsie blinked, her gaze falling on the other woman. Her hands came up and pressed together in front of her face, then moved back and rubbed her eyes before she shook her head. "Alright. So. This. Was. Not. What. I. Wanted. I don't know what a prom is but that definitely isn't the reason I started to talk to you." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Inhale, exhale...

"There's something I need to tell you. And no, it's not something stupid like 'I love you'. It's a lot more important than that." She laced her fingers together and let out a small sigh. She wasn't exactly the most trusting person -- even with those closely connected to her it'd be a bombshell that she wasn't quite from this time. "But you can't say anything about this to anyone else without my permission. Swear it."
