Description: With organizations moving closer to the First Order's borders, with it also came the potential for conflict. With such in mind, A'sharad Graush began the undocumented research and development of the new age Storm Commando Armour. Primarily developped in secret with his most trusted scientists and experimenters in Vitiate's folds, they had begun work while the White Wolves had left to secure Mephout. Since then, after multiple testing experiments, by the time the Mephout Operation had been completed, A'sharad Graush had received word that the first prototypes were awaiting use. As per usual, the Gundark Gunners, a punishment platoon within the ranks of the White Wolves, the most discreet of them were used as the guinea pigs for the testing.

With much of the standard equipment of the First Order Stormtrooper Armour, the Storm Commando Armour has several differences in material used. Whereas the First Order's standard distribution armour uses standard duraplast, the Storm Commando Armour featured Reflec, Shadowsilk, Meltmassif, in the form of a transmitter for the detonite that was laced throughout the suit which worked to destroy the suit by command of the taskforce lead, or, if the senior ranking commando was already slain, codes could be transmitted over the encrypted commline to destroy the designated suit.

Designed so that users were deployed in the darkness, from the black of the Commando armour, to the reflec coating finish that essentially reflected light off of the armour, giving it the impression that it literally absorbed light, rather than be illuminated by it. In addition to the reflec, it also hid the user from being viewed on sensors, unless by a dedicated system that was calibrated specifically for locating the wearer. This, essentially gave the armour a level of invisibility in its use. With the shadowsilk cloth also working to affect that, with its natural ability to absorb light. With its ability of dampening sound, it was included in the soles of the boots used, creating a cushion for the heavy armour of the wearer, and allowed them to move silently. This cloth was also placed in between joints underneath the armour and was essentially the compressed body glove that the Commandos would find themselves in.

Coming with the armour, was a circle that was used for the biometric locking of the suit. Included within that was the blind spot of the deflector shield that came with the armour. Although the deflector shield protected the majority of the body, it didn't reach the back of the head, or rather, exactly where the occipital lobe was located. This, left it susceptible to a single shot kill. Although, the chances a single blaster bolt would penetrate and kill the wearer of the armour was low, the detonite that's laced throughout the suit is triggered, specifically from the back of the head and would act as a manual self-destruct should the trooper be compromised. All that is needed is heat making contact with the back of the helmet in the form of flames, merely a candle could do it. Which is why, it is typically used in covert ops that don't involve explosions.

[member="Asharad Graush"], given that this relatively high quality armor, and that includes a not insignificant amount of stealth technology, I'm going to ask for a 10 - 20 post development.

Reflec could arguably make a person very difficult, and maybe close to impossible, to spot while wearing this in low-light conditions. However, while Reflec does have some anti-sensor characteristics, they aren't on the order of being invisible during normal conditions. Here is the most detailed quote about it's use in armor, taken from the Storm Commando entry in Galaxy Guide 9 - Fragments of the Rim, on page 29:

Also, the Storm Commando armor is made of a newly-created polymer called reflec, which bends most types of sensor probes away from them, rendering them virtually invisible to most light probes, though a fairly determined scan will detect them. In game terms, if the Storm Commandos are not being actively sought, roll an additional +1D to their hide and sneak checks.
In other words, this is a great piece of tech for avoiding those passive general purpose scanners and security scanners that might be rigged up to scan a perimeter for intruders. But if someone's actively looking for a Storm Commando with a sensor, the trooper's going to be found...eventually. It falls into one of those areas where someone shouldn't be able to instantly find a user wearing this, but at the same time, this isn't a cloaking device, if that makes sense.

I'll get right on the development thread.

In regards to the quote, I'm not sure what you're trying to say, since my description of reflec's purpose in the submission and your source are saying the same thing lol.

[member="Asharad Graush"], this may be a simple wording issue then.

If you'd perhaps rephrase "invisibility" and some of the phrasing to something that reflects this armor's ability to blend in (but not be potentially confused as being transparently invisible) in low light conditions, this will be good.
