DARK COURT | BEGINNER'S GUIDE

What is the Dark Court?

The Dark Court is a secretive, galaxy-spanning network led by Darth Virelia. Born from her exile from the Sith Order, it operates entirely in the shadows, weaving influence through governments, corporations, criminal syndicates, and the underworld. The Court does not wage open war—instead, it thrives on corruption, seduction, and control, turning people and events to its advantage without revealing its hand.

Membership is not limited to Dark Siders or Force Users. Anyone with ambition, skill, or usefulness can find a place within the Court's web. From smugglers and politicians to bounty hunters, spies, and Force adepts, all have a role to play in Virelia's long game of galactic domination.

How can my character fit?

The Dark Court is designed to work with any character concept, whether they were created specifically for the faction or already have an established history elsewhere. You don't have to rewrite your character's backstory or abandon their existing affiliations to get involved—many members of the Court serve it while maintaining ties to other factions, often without anyone realizing their true allegiance.

Your character could be:

  • A willing agent who seeks power, influence, or protection by serving Virelia directly.
  • An embedded operative working within another faction, feeding the Court information and subtly pushing events in its favor.
  • An unwitting pawn who believes they're acting on their own goals, unaware that they're advancing the Court's agenda.
  • An opportunist who takes the Court's jobs when they benefit them, without pledging loyalty.
  • A double agent trying to dismantle the Court from within, without succumbing to it's ever present corruption.
You can start small—perhaps a single job, a mysterious contact, or a deal too tempting to refuse. Over time, your character can rise deeper into the Court's web, willingly or not.

If you want to make a character specifically for the Dark Court, look nowhere further than here: [X]

How do I get started?

Out of Character (OOC):
  • Join the Discord – This is where most co-ordination happens. Introduce yourself in the welcome channel so other members know you're here.
  • Check Active Plots – Browse the Active Plots thread to get an idea of the general plots being acted on by the faction as a whole, or check the #active-plots channel on Discord.
  • Talk to Faction Staff – Reach out to Darth Virelia Darth Virelia or designated faction admins if you want help finding your first thread or setting up an introduction.
  • Communicate – If you have some cool ideas, feel free to share it with the faction! If you want to find some cool writing partners, throw up an LFG and share it with the faction! The more you ask nicely, the more you shall receive.
In Character (IC):
  • Choose Your Entry Point – Will your character be directly recruited, unknowingly manipulated, or hired for a single job?
  • Look for Hooks – Missions, political meetings, backroom deals, or mysterious benefactors are all ways to meet the Court.
  • Play the Long Game – The Court thrives on secrecy and manipulation; you don't have to declare loyalty right away. A slow-burn approach often makes for richer stories.
  • Stay True to Your Character – You don't have to turn into a Sith overnight. Many of the best stories come from gradual corruption, moral compromises, or double lives.
