APPEARANCE:
Darcy is a proper lad with a smart, if careworn attire. Though he's never been a man of any major importance, he's always dressed as though he might trip into such a position. Clean shaved, waistcoat, dress slacks, shined shoes and a dapper hat are the typical turnout on any given day. His fashion sense is a bit ...vintage, sporting styles that have long since fallen out of anything considered modern affair, but still manage to maintain their charm. He is quite tall and lean, build equivalent to a swimmer with very little body fat to speak of. He doesn't see much sun, given his penchant as a hard worker at a desk job. There are those that have described him as pretty, given his rather define facial features and his gentle nature, he comes across as perhaps somewhat dainty. He certainly couldn't be intimidating even if he tried.
BIOGRAPHY:
Darcy Ruppert Sixsmith was born to a middle class family on Coruscant. His father was a hard worker and his mother was gentle soul. As an only child growing up in a family that managed to live comfortably, Darcy enjoyed some fineries and perhaps a bit of spoiling. He grew up the dutiful and diminutive apple of his mother's eye, with a penchant for tinkering with things much to his father's delight. As a bright student, Darcy graduated in the top 20 percentile of his class at the Galactic University of Engineering and Technology, earning him an internship at the local minor shipyards where he helped design and produce shuttles and small freighters as a young adult.
His life was rather wholly unremarkable for several years following until he met a woman named Mitzi May - a vivacious, curvacious young singer attempting to bring back the old Jazz and hailing from the upper levels of Corsucanti Aristocracy. He was immediately smitten by her sweet smothering of warm and buttery affectations and her thirst to become a business entrepreneur. She was caught up in an underworld of Coruscant he'd never yet been privvy to, which lead to regular splurging on his little gem while under the seduction of booze, music, and some rather shady underworld neophytes.
They married three months later and Darcy, or "Rupe" as he had come to be nicknamed, soon found himself the benefactor to the defunct Maybell Hotel inherited by his wife at the passing of her father. Years and a small fortune later, The Maybell found itself renovated into an hommage to the historical Coruscanti jazz age, complete with vintage everything and a soon to be famous Marigold Room - a hall where up and coming young artists and musicians found their spotlight, aristocrats gambled away their savings, and general dealings of iniquity took place.
Shortly after the grand opening, Mitzi gave birth to their daughter Pepper.
It was a fairytale come true, or so he believed, and Darcy lived in ignorant bliss behind his deskjob at the yards. Eventually he found out about Mitzi and her shady dealings within the hotel. He also learned later on that Pepper was, in fact, not his daughter, but the bastard child of the saxophone player to one of the regular bands at the Marigold.
Instead of confronting his wife, Darcy piled it all deep down inside, quit his job, and got caught up in a religious movement in the southern systems called the Moross Crusade, lead there by the sultry words of a young man named Errin and the promise for rejuvenation.
Enter the Moross Aesirs into the life of Darcy Sixsmith. Enter Darcy Sixsmith into the Moross Crusade. His induction was quick and with the help of Errin he soon found himself entangled within the sect of Neth the Archivist. Exocron was a paradise by the time he'd reached it and the Crusade prospered like no other government he'd ever heard of. Seeing naught but opportunity, he sent letter after letter back home to his wife, weaving the tales of the glorious Crusade. Her returns were detached and ... amused, she rebuffed every plead to sell the Maybell Hotel and move to Exocron permanently, insisting that she couldn't simply drop her family's legacy.
The option of divorce curiously never surfaced. Darcy, who blamed himself for how things had fallen apart, could not bring himself to break off a marriage that had every possibility of healing and working... but he couldn't bring himself to go back to Coruscant either. When a job offer came in for the new Moross Shipwrights out of Ceto, he quickly accepted. With a new, fatter paycheck Darcy was able to continue funding the Maybell Hotel's expenses and put Pepper into the best school available. Six years passed in nearly the blink of an eye, finding the man growing more and more lonely and depressed as time went on.
He found companionship in Errin, though the guilt was terrible.
Netherworld struck, Errin disapeared.
