Riggs is a very determined individual, which tends to be both a strength and a weakness. He has achieved a lot because of his determination, but sometimes it makes him plain stubborn. To some he is known as an extrovert, and to others he is seen as an introvert. He is well balanced in that regard, knowing when to be the life of the party, and when to quietly observe.
There is also a playful side, despite the determination with which Damon works. His personality traits tend to make him an optimist, which makes him a great leader in dire situations. He refuses to see things as if there is no hope. Riggs is honest to a fault, and has no issue saying what he thinks whether good or bad. He considers himself a leader and will fill any leadership void he finds. Riggs is not a detail person. He tends to see the big picture and is a decisive person. Decisions come easy for him.
For the most part, Riggs has put his career over family and love. Romances have never been long term for the military man, and he doesn’t do well at staying in touch with his family. Holidays tend to be awkward when he is home because of that issue. Despite this, Riggs is a family, at least in the value he places on it. He does not consider himself to be a good candidate for being a father or husband, but secretly wishes he could be.
APPEARANCE:
The top of Damon's head is covered with dishwater blonde to a light brown color of hair. When allowed to grow out a slight wave can be noticed making its way through the length of the hair. Thick eyebrows frame his stunningly bright and clear blue eyes. The eyes are very penetrating when looked into directly. The jaw line is strong, and has clear definition, though is hidden by his scruffy, stubbled appearance.
Riggs stays in shape and as a result has a very fit appearance, standing at six feet tall. He is not overly muscular, but he is still well built. Most of the time Riggs is in a t-shirt, jeans, and a leather jacket. It is way different than his uniform, and he likes it. Black boots over his feet, and hide a couple of knives as well.
BIOGRAPHY:
History: Damon Riggs was born on Coruscant to Darn and Mira Riggs. Darn was Security Officer his entire life, and raised Riggs in a “militaryesque” style home. Damon thrived in the system and learned discipline early on. He embraced every decision his father made for him as child, even when that led to military school once Damon was old enough for enrollment. It was clear that Riggs was headed to a career in the military, but found his true love of ships while on a navy camp.
From that moment on, Riggs focused on learning everything that he could about what it took to be a naval officer. The idea that one day he would command his own vessel became a driving force for his life. As a result he did not have many friends growing, save those with similar goals. Every extracurricular activity that Riggs could sign up for that gave him the experience he wanted, he participated in. Simulations and war games became his favorite thing to do. His final year in military school, Riggs had the privilege of being the commanding officer of the winning team space battle.
As soon as Riggs graduated, he enrolled in the military academy. Riggs found himself loving every minute of it, and thrust himself into learning all he could. He was determined to be the best in class, which again limited his friendships during his years at the academy. Riggs graduated as one of several honor students, and was assigned as the Junior Tactical officer to the “Renkl.” His service was exemplary and the young graduate worked his way to the position of first officer over time.
It was while Riggs was the first officer that he gained the attention of his superiors and was promoted to captain. This came with command of his own Capitol ship "Inquisitor." The ship itself was lost during a battle which was costly for the fleet. Of his own crew, few survived, and to his knowledge the entire fighter squadron he housed perished as well. Including the one person he was beginning to actually have feelings for.
Devastated he returned home, and with help from his parents, purchased his own cargo vessel. They didn't want him living with them so it was on to new adventures for him. The man resigned his commission because he couldn't handle the guilt and turned to a life of smuggling. He takes odd jobs from time to time, nothing too illegal, and refuses to deal in slaves.
He found Alexandra Russo, and for a while things seemed to go well. Once they put the past tragedy behind them, due to the death of her long time father figure, the two became lovers. This lasted for a time until both joined the fledgling Galactic Alliance. It became clear the two were not going in the same direction. Riggs could not handle war any longer and Russo still wanted to fly. The two ended their romantic relationship when Riggs resigned his commission and left hoping Russo would go with him. When she didn't it was clear their relationship was done.
PERSONAL CONNECTION:
[member="Alexandra Russo Porte"]: The brunette Taanabian is the former C.O. of the X-Wing unit which had been stationed on Riggs ship Inquisitor. They are former lovers, and still remain good, yet distant, friends to this day.
Marcus Jenkins (NPC): Riggs best friend and former XO. He is believed to be dead.
[member="Teyla Ee'everwest"]: Riggs pilot, business partner, and lover. The two met when he was hiring to fill the vacancy Russo left on his crew. She has secured her place in his heart, and while they are not married, they are exclusive and are starting a family together.
