  • Role: Planetary Defence, Police Action, 'Keepers of the Peace'
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Damocles
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Damocletian Planetary Defence Force (DPDF)
  • Affiliation: To their homeworld of Damocles, and any major faction that Damocles is willingly a part of.
  • Classification: Infantry with Light Mechanized support.
  • Description: The DPDF is an all clone force, grown, trained, and used exclusively on Damocles. They are all clones of Roth S'baal, a Mandalorian hero in Damocles' history who helped reform the previous cloned Stormtrooper Corp. of the planet into its modern equivalent. On top of training equivalent to clones of the clone wars, these clones are also imprinted with the entire legal code for Damocles and are completely trusted by its residents to dispense justice efficiently.
COMBAT INFORMATION: The combination of Unit Size and Availability below is the indicator of how numerous your unit is. Stormtroopers for instance would be considered Large/Common, while Rogue Squadron would be a Small/Unique unit. Majority Force User Units are prohibited from being Common or Large. The stronger and more specialized your unit is (FU or NFU), the smaller and less common it should be.
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment: 2-M Saber-class Repulsor Tanks and Custom Stormtrooper Armor
  • Combat Function: Day-to-Day the DPDF is a planet-wide peacekeeping force that actively clamps down on crime and political extremist elements on Damocles. However, should the planet come under siege the DPDF is trained to defend primary objectives (starports and large urban centers) across the planet to deny any invaders from obtaining key infrastructure. If they manage to stall the advance they then begin hit and run tactics against what is probably a much larger foe, slowly pushing them off the planet.
Strengths:
  • Universal Training: Every clone of the DPDF has the exact same or very similar training, allowing whole cohorts and divisions to act on instinct instead of waiting for lengthy, contradicting, or complex commands. Every clone knows their place and how they fit into the battle plan, and are able to fit into their role and begin fighting at a moment's notice. Even a surprise attack will quickly find these clones ready to defend.
  • Home Advantage: The DPDF has full knowledge of all urban centers and heavily populated rural areas that they may be deployed to as if they had grown up there their entire lives. This knowledge is imprinted into them while young and gives them an incredible home-field advantage. Similar armies in training and mass may find it difficult to uproot or best the Damocletian Planetary Defence Force while on Damocles.
  • Bred for War: Each clone will not second guess an order from a known superior, will gladly lay down their life should it be called for, and has no qualms about carrying out unpopular commands such as destroying infrastructure that many civilians may currently depend on in order to stall the enemy's advance. The safety and security of the Commonwealth is ultimately more important than any single civilian in the eyes of the DPDF.
Weaknesses:
  • Questionable Loyalty: The DPDF is loyal to a fault and experienced enough manipulators, hackers, or force users could potentially trick DPDF divisions into believing that they are their actual leaders rather than the government of Damocles who will attempt to reassert control.
  • Clone Sickness: The clones age quickly, typically only living for five years. Should the cloning facilities hidden away on Damocles be destroyed the DPDF will most certainly lose a war of attrition.
  • Outdated Gear: The weapons, armor, and vehicles used by the DPDF are outdated. The Commonwealth of Damocles has never considered a planetary invasion actually likely, thus funding for the DPDF has steadily dwindled, causing them to use old modified Imperial / First Order equipment they've maintained or bought.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Damocletian Planetary Defence Force was initially founded by what historians on Damocles call the 'Scion Government', an Imperial Remnant faction inspired by the teachings of the First Order who seized control of the planet and declared themselves the legitimate heir to the First Galactic Empire. Then it was known as the Damocles Storm Trooper Corp. and the clones were mostly bred to supply the authoritarian regime with a capable of utterly loyal army.

However as the Scion Government fell and was reformed, the Stormtrooper Corp. was reimagined into the peacekeeping soldiers they are today. Their base template became that of Roth S'baal, a Damocletian Mandalorian hero who helped reform the Scion Government into the Commonwealth and headed the DPDF in his latter years of life. However, none have forgotten the DPDF's history, and many call for the abolition of the once Imperialist organization, yet few in power take such notions seriously.
