Dagobah Tech's psychology building

Name: Dagobah Tech University

Image Source: University of Louisiana at Lafayette

Classification: University

Location: Mount Yoda's base, Dagobah

Motto: Learn, you will

Affiliation: Galactic Alliance

Description: Dagobah Tech's campus stretches over a thousand acres of marshland, where over 50 buildings dot the landscape, linked by trails and about 15,000 students attend the university at any given time. One of the most iconic buildings of the Dagobah Tech campus is the psychology building, which is built out of bricks and mortar and part of the original campus as it was built in 5 ABY, hosting the main building at the time. Over time, the administration of the university sought to have the buildings being built match blend with the existing building styles already present on campus so that the campus forms a cohesive unit. Graduates included Ken, the grandson of Darth Sidious, as well as Cathul Thuku, who went on to become one of the most respected therapists in Mandalorian history.

History: When Dagobah Tech was founded in 5 ABY, it was a school meant to serve the children of DRAPAC workers on Mount Yoda on Dagobah when the Rebel Alliance established a fortress on Dagobah. It remained in operation as the school for the children of New Republic workers on Dagobah well into the Yuuzhan Vong wars, by that point the New Republic still had a marginal presence on the planet. Afterwards, the Gungans colonized the planet ca. 240 ABY, and the Gungan colony's growth allowed the Gungans to take control of the institution, turning it into a university. By 240 ABY the NJO relocated elsewhere on the planet, closer to the Dark Side Cave, into which no Gungans ever dared enter and the area immediately surrounding the Dark Side Cave was hence declared off-limits not only to the Gungans but also to the students and staff of Dagobah Tech in perpetuity so long as they remain affiliated to Dagobah Tech as a result of the accord that allowed the Gungans to remain on Dagobah.

During the Gulag lague, the enrollment, as well as the personnel, of Dagobah Tech was mostly restricted to the mostly-Gungan Dagobah residents until about 750 ABY, where off-worlders could once again enroll. For the centuries to follow, the university became renowned across the galaxy for its study of wetlands, and for forestry on the scientific side, as well as for philosophy on the humanities side. In addition, it requires every student that take introductory psychology or philosophy courses to read both the Jedi and Sith Codes. However, due to Gungan educational practices, leaving little room for out-of-major electives once their undergraduate education begins (and also majors are declared on day 1), in practice, not everyone actually comes out of Dagobah Tech with any understanding of the Codes.

For something founded in 5 ABY, I feel like I need more history on this. How did the Gulag Plague affect it? How to current Jedi struggles play into its history (i.e. squabbling over who 'owns' the school v. the gungans) , etc. For something so old it should have way more than just a paragraph recognizing its history.

[member="Judah Dashiell"] Expanded on how the Gulag affected Dagobah Tech and also what were the consequences of the Gungans vs. the Jedi struggles as it pertains to the Gungans and the students/staff of Dagobah Tech.
