Intent: To give private citizens an environmentally-friendly, fast, and well-protected personal freighter/transport
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Czerka
Model: Elv72
Affiliation: None
Modularity: Weapons, engines, defense systems, and computers are all completely modular. In addition, a lot of space is left for wiring of additional systems, Some consumers have upgraded their Elv72s into highly efficient combat ships. Pirates occasionally modify these into mobile bases of operation, adding vast sensor systems and much heavier weapons and armor. Best of all, however, is the ability to change out the powerful, if small, engines of the factory model with military-grade interceptor models.
Production: Minor produced (mostly sold to inhabitants of majorly arboreal or environment-conscious planets)
Material: Heavily reinforced durasteel hull, and transparisteel windows
Description: Basically a freighter model that substitutes actual cargo space for passenger space, laser cannons, and comfort. An unmodified Verdant is quite a ride, but the most desirable feature is the small hangar space that is easily large enough to hold most swoops and speeder bikes. Although a factory model Elv72 has rather limited cargo space, much of the furniture can be removed to provide storage space for about thirty tons of cargo. Base models excel in getting their cargo and passengers to their destinations safely. The powerful shields, sensors, and weapons make this goal very easy to achieve, and anybody from senators to spicerunners should recognize the utility value of a well-maintained Elv72.

Length: 50 meters (no wings), 70 meters (with wings)
Power Core Generator/Reactor: Cryogenic Reactor
Hyperdrive Rating: Class 1.5
Minimum Crew: 1

Optimal Crew: 2-5, depending on modifications
Armaments:

  • Long-range laser cannon (x2)
  • Short-range concussion missile tube (x1)
  • Short range ion cannon (x2)

At first I was like "Oh, this is cool. Neat little shuttle."

And then I looked at the armament and NCAs. And then we ran into some problems.

There is a shuttle, which is generally a speedy little thing designed solely to transport folks from A to B. They'll sometimes have a few weapons to fend off light attacks, but primarily will rely on an escort. These are generally in the 15-25 meter range.

And then there's a heavy freighter (which is what this thing is sized to). These are slower than a shuttle, but do get more armor and firepower for it.

Right now this is something that calls itself one thing but is another thing entirely. Fighter / Bomber is just right out. Those are in the 10-15 meter range. It's much, much larger than any normal civilian shuttle would be.

As far as your armaments go... they're just too excessive, even if this was a military ship. A single long-range heavy laser cannon is valued at 10. You've got two of those, plus two ion cannons. These numbers are going to have to come down, regardless of what the ultimate role and function of this ship becomes.

I relabeled it as a heavily armed civilian freighter/transport

That what you were talking about?

I also fixed some of the armaments... made it 2 'long range' instead of 'heavy long range'

@Dr'ven Khev'et

Only problem left is its speed. Most dropships / freighters over 50 meters long are gonna be Speed 4, barring any serious concessions for armor and/or armament.

Edit: On second run through of the guide, I found this.

Long-Range: x5 (Capital Ships only, Capital Guns Only)

So you'll have to change that as well.
