  • Organization Name: CTRLd (AKA Central Tactical Response Leadership, Control)
  • Classification: Enforcement, Defense, & Intelligence Organization
  • Affiliation: Dominique Vexx, Rachne Industries
  • Organization Symbol: Three-Dimensional Gothic-Industrial Shield
  • Description: CTRLd is an organized with organized, financed, and above all devoted members whose sole occupation is ensuring the safety and security of Denon's assets, citizens, and corporations. Whereas CorpSec is beholden to countless Directors and enjoy the fruits of corruption, CTRLd seeks to become a world-wide, galaxy-class security and intelligence apparatus with which to bring Denon to the next level by putting an end to criminal supremacy.

  • Headquarters: District Four, Denon
  • Domain: CTRLd's primary operational area is Denon and the surrounding systems. Their mandate is the preservation and security of Denon, its assets, and its people. Toward that end under Director Vexx's authority their activities may extend to anywhere within the Corporate Sector Authorities, or within The High Republic utilizing Senator Vexx's standing in the Republic's Assembly.

Daemon of CTRLd as part of their normal duties do not regularly operate with members of the community. A few souls tasked with Public Relations are responsibility for campaigns and media presence, but when operatives are required to interact they are people of few words. If anything, their interactions are often limited to issuing orders to get civilians out of a high octane situation, or to stay out of the line of fire. As for those violating the law and terrorizing the people of Denon, CTRLd Daemons only have very strict orders and expectations to say to such people -- followed by dogged pursuit if they fail to abide lawfully issued commands.
  • Notable Assets: Storage, Garages, Training, Barracks, and Command Center largely located in District 4, but Safe Houses, Distribution Centers, and Enforcement Centers are scattered throughout Denon.

  • Hierarchy:
    • Director: The ultimate authority when it comes to orders issued to or by CTRLd. The director sets the operational focus, expectations, and overall performance review of the organization. Their word is law within the organization, and if necessary they can override and replace the Chief of the System.
    • System Admin: The Adjunct or Secretary is an individual granted authority to handle inter-departmental affairs that may also involve CTRLd, and ensure good public relations or perception. They can direct the Chief of the System's efforts, but do not issue direct orders to CTRLd members.
    • System Adjudicator: The Tech or Fixer reports directly to the Director and is responsible for judging, arbitrating, and settling disputes within the system.
    • Chief of the System: The Chief is the highest authority within CTRLd responsible for distributing resources in order to meet operational objectives.
    • System Inspector General: Auditors report to the Inspector General any findings of corruption, abuse, or violation of internal CTRLd processes for review and correction.
    • System Resource Management: Accountants track use of financial and material resources by Daemon and report deviations or shortfalls to the Resource Manager for remediation.
    • Chiefs of the Session: Managers of different zones (planets) see to the needs or challenges unique to a particular operational zone. They report directly to the Chief of the System, but are delegated authority over their assigned zone.
    • Chiefs of Process: Processors are granted authority to oversee local operations and ensure local sentiment does not turn against CTRLd within an operational zone. They report directly to a specific Chief of the Session, or if one is not assigned then to the Chief of the System.
    • Daemons: The bulk of CTRLd's forces are made up of the individuals that see the organization's will made manifest. There are several specialized groups within CTRLd, but they all share a uniform ranking hierarchy to avoid confusion in the field.
      • Commander: A limited number of Daemon may be charged to oversee large portions within a zone, and to coordinate efforts among Captains and ensure accurate and prompt reporting to their Chief of Process.
      • Captain: Where necessary, Captains manage CTRLd's efforts within a more localized region within a designated zone.
      • Lieutenant: Commands one or more groups of Daemon to handle a scene, task, or objective.
      • Sergeant: Often commands a single group of Daemon.
      • Operative: An individual contributor. They make up the bulk of CTRLd's forces ensuring peace and prosperity.
  • Membership: At the start of 902 ABY approximately 20,000 individuals were identified as possessing the skills, physical condition, mental fortitude, and commitment needed for CTRLd. Half of that number was tasked with training an additional batch of officers with the expectation that by 903 ABY there would be 300,000 Daemons. This would continue year over year to bolster CTRLd's ranks in an effort to supplant the piecemeal, divided, and ruthless CorpSec organization with a well-regimented, well-armed, and dedicated security force to take back Denon's streets from the thugs and defend against threats to civilian and corporate interests. Ultimately, the organization seeks to reach at least a 3:1000 ratio of Daemons to Residents.

Those that seek to join CTRLd must pass a rigorous physical and mental examination, as well as a background check to ensure those beholden to particular Directors or Corporations don't seek to recreate the follies of CorpSec where officers were loyal to their Director first and not to Denon. Classroom and on-the-job training are provided to give candidates a diverse exposure to the job -- both its requirements and rigors. Those with an aptitude to specialization are offered opportunities for additional training in their desired field, and the chance to join a specialized unit. All a citizen needs to do is find a local Enforcement Center, or Central Command, to submit the necessary paperwork; in certain cases contacting Dominique Vexx directly can expedite the process, but not bypass the exams and background checks.

Specialization Branches include, but are not limited to:
    • AId: Assault & Infantry Daemon
    • INd: Infiltration Daemon
    • OPd: Special/Black Operations Daemon
    • PRd: Public Relations / Community Patrol Daemon
    • REd: Reconnaissance Daemon
    • RId: Crowd Control/RIOT Daemon
    • SARd: Search & Rescue Daemon
  • Climate: Focused. CTRLd has its work cut out for it protecting a world as large as Denon with countless interests aligned against it, but the Daemon are committed to taking back the streets from the rampant gangs, criminals, and even rogue corporate labs. The atmosphere can be tense, but the mission is what drives them.
  • Reputation: Wary. While CTRLd intends to bring law and order back to Denon, and to protect Denon's interests, there is no denying the effect CorpSec has had on the ground level. Any police or military force would be met with a great deal of skepticism.
  • Curios: A Hash (phylactery) of all Daemons is made once they're no longer a candidate or recruit, but a full member of CTRLd. This Hash is stored in a secure vault in an undisclosed location. It is essentially a Directory of all CTRLd operatives and allows validating their identity especially when an operative must go under deep cover. The hash contains a genetic readout, biological samples, and psychological mapping of each Daemon.
  • Rules: Some of the most well-known, well-documented rules include:
    • Adherence to Orders: Daemon are expected to follow lawfully given orders by their superiors.
    • Respect for Corporations and Corporate Property, and Civilians and Civilian Property: These include the Rules of Engagement and Law of War proscribing the acceptable application of force and treatment of prisoners.
    • Wearing of Uniforms: Daemon are expected to wear their designated uniforms and maintain a certain standard of appearance, unless participating in uncover operations.
    • Maintaining Personal Conduct: Members shall conduct themselves with dignity and honor both on- and off-duty. They shall not demonstrate favoritism to any interest outside of CTRLd.
    • Reporting Violations: Daemon are obligated to report violations of the law or regulations that they witness.
    • Restrictions on Social Media: The use of certain Holonet platforms or distribution of certain information may be restricted due to security concerns.
  • Goals:
    • Take Back Control of Denon's Districts
    • Defend Denon from Invasion
    • Protect Citizens and Corporate Partners
    • Enforce Laws and Regulations
    • Continued Expansion
    • Become the Premier Security Force of Denon

Dominique Vexx established CTRLd in 902 ABY after Denon aligned itself with the High Republic (known as the Naboo Royal Republic at the time) after her ascension to the Executive Board. Having been the Senator in the Galactic Alliance as the Corporate Authorities of Denon struggled to crush the terrorist organization known as Darkwire, Dominique had witnessed the ineffectiveness and heavy-handedness of CorpSec as utilized by the Board. Rather than a force intended to secure Denon, it was a mere tool for pet projects and initiatives designed to enrich the Ultra Weathy and real Authorities of Denon.

Not content to leave her world in the hands of the ignorant and corrupt, she started the process of identifying and vetting experienced individuals to form the basis of a new organization. CTRLd would focus on bringing order and stability back to Denon; to wrest back control from the countless gangs and underworld organizations that extort companies as extra-judicial toll and tax agencies for those wealthy enough to pay their 'protection' fees. It would ensure that the external forces moving ever closer to Denon would not find them a ripe, bountiful, and ultimately helpless world for the taking.

Resolved to make Denon the economic jewel of the galaxy, Dominique masked the founding of CTRLd as a personal expenditure and security force to secure her own company, Rachne Industries, in the forlorn District Three. Once their efforts gained traction and notice, she rationalized it as protecting corporate interests. The Five Veils Trade Route conspiracy and Black Sun incursions bolstered her argument that a refined and capable force only ensured the Board's interests would not be deterred. With operations focused in areas the Board had long since overlooked and dismissed, Dominique enabled CTRLd to continue its expansion, development, and bolstering of its reputation with the people of Denon. Much as Rachne Industries itself had propelled Dominique onto the board, she sought to position this security and intelligence apparatus in place before real resistance could be mustered by the greedy and self-absorbed majority of the Executive Board; by the time they thought to turn CorpSec against them they would already be outmatched.
