The first Crystal of Life was crafted just before the fall of the Galactic Republic. On the remote world of Illyria, the Viscount Raphael Boucher wished to create a synthetic source of energy that would be able to power the needs of his planet for the rest of eternity. His projects included various chemical & mineral combinations in the hopes of perfecting the perfect energy source. The first Crystal of Life was a liquid compound that could be poured of a source of energy and effectively drain it of its properties. However, this crystal failed as it was unable to maintain any of the power that it had taken into its being. The next and most recent form of the crystal was a clear, pristine crystal that was capable of in taking all forms of Energy indiscriminately. However, once the energy was locked in the crystal it proved nearly impossible to release the energy back into another source. The project effectively stalled when this blockade could not be overcome. The crystal has been proven to work well with the blade of a lightsaber as it can tempt the blade to siphon energy from blaster bolts or another lightsaber much like a molecular shield would.
When intaking energy the crystal remains a clear stone, however it does take on a cloudy tint correlating to whichever kind of power has been taken in.

- Attunement: Crystals of Life are capable of draining most forms of energy from their hosts. However, a crystal can be specifically attuned to feed off a certain form of energy. Tuning a crystal to a specific form of energy is an exceptionally long process which requires near-constant exposure to that form of energy for a time period of over a year. This also requires stabilizing via the Force by a Master of Force Alchemy. Attuned crystals intake their specific form of energy at advanced rates.
- Power Drain: As is the purpose of the crystal, they are capable of siphoning energy from nearly all forms of power in the known galaxy, even biological life force can be slowly drained from a host if the crystal is allowed prolong exposure.
- Very Resistant: The crystal has a natural resistant to all forms of power that it can intake. Energy, Kinetic, Plasma, Thermal, Chemical, Electrical, Biological Energy, & Sound energy are all readily absorbed into the crystal and added to its natural supply of power.
- Unlimited Power: They are capable of maintaining a nearly-infinite supply of power which has no known erosion rate & are extremely stable when maintaining high energy rates.
