Most Criminal Activities are pretty straight forward and won't require much of a description however some have special conditions applied to them. So that everyone is on the same page I will try to define what various criminal activities are and the mechanics on how to set them up.
Types of Criminal Activities:
Racketeering: Racketeering has several definitions depending on source and context. For the purposes of this game Racketeering will represent the physical territory ‘controlled’ by a criminal organization where they make money via extortion, money laundering, and loan sharking.
Major Narcotic Ring: The two Major galactic Narcotics are Death Sticks and Spice. Whereas most drug dealers try to diversify and corner the market in their territories the dealers of Spice and Death Sticks fight violently with one another. The dealing of these two products created a violent rivalry between the spice selling Twi’leks and the Death Stick dealing Balosars. This rivalry is still strong and so when getting into a Major narcotics ring a player, gang, or syndicate are required to choose which narcotic they deal in.
Specialist Narcotics Ring: Specialists Narcotics Rings consist of all other types of narcotics not covered by the Major Narcotics ring. Minor Narcotics Rings do not make as much money because of the smaller demand and need for specialist dealers to maintain a more varied stock. Examples of Specialists Narcotics are Slick, Pyrodene, Dreamdust and Luna-weed.
Hijacking and Pirating: Exactly like it sounds. This is the act of stealing from others and selling said goods on the black market.
Arms Dealing: The buying and selling of illegal weapons. This criminal activity uses the rules for buyers as defined in the basic guide.
Sentient Trafficking: The Slave Trade either for labor or 'escort' services.
Specialist Activity: This is things that don’t fall nicely into above categories or you wish to make simply for a unique feel. An example could be a small illegal casino set up in the basement of a restaurant or a small press counterfeiting republic credits or maybe an organ farm...
Establishing Criminal Activities;
So basically the only mechanic for this is a 10 post thread describing how you establish your business and then posting the information asked for in the territorial update thread.
Any outside players you hire, smugglers, thieves, ect. will gain you a bonus wealth point for that particular operation. Get more people involved get more points. Establish a supply via smuggling and gain a point. Do you require a special chemical to produce death sticks? Hire a ‘crew’ to hijack a shipment in your thread and receive a free point. The sky's the limit for role playing and going above and beyond the 10 post minimum will earn you rewards.
