Creating Confederacy Connections

Jaxton Ravos

Mindwalker of the Outer Rim
Enga Thaal had slowly but surely expanded his business, getting deals for food to feed his wide web of animal shelters and setting up shop on worlds like Coruscant, Tython, and establishing connections with Atrisia, Iridonia and Hapes. Today however Enga's journeys brought him to look for one woman who'd gain a reputation as a strong healer, a kind soul, and a powerful user of the strange Force that seemed so prevalent outside Zenoma Sekot. Her name was @[member="Feena Mason"], and she was the leader of an organization called the 'Sanctuary' or some such thing.

From what he had heard the Sanctuary was a general charity and helper for the Confederacy at large, which was a perfect ally for what he wanted to accomplish. Now, if only he could find her office in this throng of people. Why did all these non-Yuuzhan Vong have to look the same?

Sanctuary. For now, it was a large building on Adarlon. For now, it was just an organization to help those in the confederacy. But one day, perhaps years down the line, Feena knew she could expand it to the rest of the Galaxy. Someday, everyone would have a fighting chance.

It was hard to have live chats with her family from the other side of the Galaxy, so she had taken to recording messages and sending those. Updates on everything, instructions, messages of love.

"I'm not going to be home for a good while," she confessed in a holo recording she sent back to her family, "My work here is important. I have many people counting on me. But don't worry too much. I am planning a vacation for all of us.
Felicity; be a good girl. draw something pretty for mommy, okay? And practice your dancing."

She cleared her throat and paused for a moment, standing in the very center of her office.
"Keter... Come to me very soon. The baby is growing well, but... Make sure Felicity is not in the room for this, okay?"

She paused another moment, time enough for him to scoot her out of the room before continuing.

"I've been to see a doctor. He's prescribed bed rest. I'm only nineteen weeks in. I can't afford to go on bed rest yet.
Now, I know the doctors on Adarlon aren't quite as good as what I'm used to in the core systems, but... I've been tired. I need help and I need it from you.
You know I love you. So much."

She stopped the recording, hand on her stomach. For a few moments, she honestly considered deleting that last message... again. She'd deleted a half dozen so far, convinced that there was simply no good way to ask for help without appearing weak. That was something she just could not do. He pride would not allow it.

A wave of exhaustion washed over her and she sunk into the seat at her desk, head in her hands. She could not keep doing this.

Her finger hit the send button and it felt like a stab to the heart. Her precious pride....

"Lady Feena? There is a gentleman wandering around. I think he may be looking for you."

"...find him," she replied after a moment to compose herself, "and send him in."

OOC: I am extremely sorry, this got on my backlist somehow. Terribly sorry.

IC:Enga was found, and brought to a woman who was noticeably carrying, perhaps four or five months in for a humanoid. It didn't take the Force to see that the woman was a bit distracted, perhaps even distraught. Enga at heart, was a shaper, which while certainly having a good bit of biotech involved didn't really see himself as the best person to help. Yet at the same time, he saw the woman in a bit of distress, and wished to help.

"Congratulations." He began, referring to the obvious. "Has everything been going well?"

Feena sat patiently at her desk, looking over official looking documents. In truth, they were just plans on her and Keters vacation.
When the strange was shown in, Feena held up a hand to dismiss her assistant and close the door. The other woman looked concerned, suspicious, but Feena gave her a look that told her to not concern herself with it.

"Congratulations.Has everything been going well?"

"I answer no personal questions with strangers," she replied, gentler than her answer might have seemed. It was strictly business, "Names first. Who are you?"

"I apologize, my manners need some work it seems." He responded, in a friendly tone that showed he wasn't offended by the woman's remarks. She was running quite the organization after all, he should have realized such information wouldn't just be given.

"I am Enga Thaal, and I am heading up an organization that intends to provide shelter and help find good homes for the non and semi-sentient beings of the galaxy. I had intended to discuss some plans for our non-profit to expand into Confederacy territory, but if you are busy I can of course reschedule."

Feena put down her vacation planning and looked this stranger over. Well, not stranger anymore. She had a name. That was enough.

"Rescheduling is something I prefer not to do if I can ever help it. Explain your intentions and I will hear you out."

She would always listen. It was all part of being a good leader.
