ADVANCED SYSTEMS
- Pilot Droid with Pilot and Co-Pilot capability
Strengths:
- Un-manned transport: Standard with the CR-10 as a interstellar travel vessel was a pilot droid.
- Navigator: As a co-pilot, through a collaboration with Industrial Automaton, the pilot droid has the same memory capacity as their recent G5-series Astromech droid
- Un-Manned Transport: If the shuttle is being piloted by a droid it will be easy to tell based off of its flight patterns and if weapons are being used. By design the pilot droids do not have access to the CR-10's weapons systems and they cannot be used if the droid is in Pilot mode.
- Ion Weapons: Ion weapons can disable shields, internal systems, and disable the pilot droid
- No Teeth: The CR-10 was not designed as a combat vessel. In fact it was originally designed for interstellar transport of peoples and their cargo. Even the CR-10a variant [The version in use by the Corellian Confederation] lacks anything more than the stock point defense lasers.
The CR-10 also came equipped with several laser cannon turrets all of which were commanded from a small gunnery station on the bridge. The ship also came stock with pilot droids that could hold a vast amount of travel data and hyperspace coordinates. The droids were able to make decisions on their own and were docile enough to follow orders and relinquish control as long as regular memory wipes were given. The CR-10a kept these droids as it freed up an already strained military to reallocate pilots elsewhere.
Notably, the Corellian-based luxury travel company "Errant Ventures" used these vessels to ferry passengers to and from their small flotilla of privately owned star destroyers after cruises completed their routes.
