Private Count On You

It was a sad day
One of her older council members had passed in his sleep. The man was old, had been there she first came to be the monarch of zeltros, she had grown fond of the man and when the news came he had passed she weeped

Even if her memories werent all there, she remembered zeltros and imahalyan...honestly she was surprised she was a queen! It was quite the shock to hear! However now she had the problem of finding someone to replace the position. Taking the time to first bury him she moved onto the task at hand.

She searched around, putting a request out, interviews would be held to choose the right one, they'd have to be both approved by the rest of the council and herself. Few days would go by, none seemed to fit the bill at all and stardust was growing tired...however she had a meeting with one more for the day a younger gal so maybe there was a chance...

You ever find yourself up really late at night browsing the holonet?

Yeah, that was Kyra's mood lately. Ever since the battle of Kintan, sleep wasn't coming easily. She was missing home. Big time. So when the saw the sweepstakes to run as Zeltron's new Countess?

It was one of those late night, sleep-deprived decisions, okay? She didn't expect her application to get anywhere. She hadn't even put that much effort into it. Honestly, she had forgotten she had even submitted. So when the holomessage came back requesting her presence on Zeltros for a follow up interview by the Queen?

Her poor teachers had to deal with a lot of excitement.

As it turned out, it wasn't a sweepstakes, but a full blown interview. The levity of that surpassed Kyra as she fluttered into the room. The quarter-Zeltron ignored all manners and went right to Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae , thumping into her in an enthusiastic hug. She was crass, but she was genuine. When she pulled back she uttered so quickly it might be misheard, "Oh my gosh, you're actually the queen!"

Was she suppose to curtsy? This question hit her over the head, her wide eyed expression crumbling to mortification.

She curtsied.

She knew the person in question would take a bit, they werent even on planet, didnt matter stardust was trying to catch up on what she forgot...mostly half the names of all the dignitary and those on her council oh and those...ugh it gave her a headache. A lot worse then the ones she was getting from the hit to the head.

But finally day came, stardust was dressed rather casual, just a casual dress youd wear for work, honestly she liked it seemed different then what she saw herself wearing in photos of the past...she wish she could remember it

Adjusting her chair, she fidgeted a little bit, standing as the doors open and went to greet the person before suddneky she was hugged? The council presence to listen was confused, star was confused, star didnt know this person least...what she could remember. The woman sounded excited to meet her stepping back as the woman curtsied star bowed a little

well um, eager I see
Kyra Perl Kyra Perl

Kyra smoothed down the front of her dress. It was becoming for her age, neither show off her body or down playing her years. Kyra was still young in many ways, but from the mouths of children flow truth.

She had never grown out of that.

"Well yeah," she said, a bit of abashed excitement hitting her cheeks. "You're The Queen. My queen. It's overwhelming, but so very cool. You need help? I'm here! Hi!" She stuck out her hand, her posture straight and confident.

"I'm Kyra. Kyra Perl. I loooove your coloring," she droned, authentic in her glee. "It's so rich. I'm so pale." And indeed her human heritage had left her more of a soft pastel pink than the typical Zeltron hues.

None of that mattered upon first meeting. Kyra just spoke her mind. Before the queen could have time to process and respond, that prattling girl pointed to the chair besides her.

"Can I sit?"

Good lord this girl had energy! Stardust could only look at her and blink as she tried speaking several times but yet couldnt hey any words out. Stepping back and chuckling she nodded to he question and motioned to the chair as she sat down herself

yes yes please do so

This girl based off her energy might be a good selection...however that was to be seen. Clearing her throat she sat back I'm her chair and stared down Kyra Perl Kyra Perl

first off I wanna thank you for traveling to here for this interview. Now then, onto the businesssof the matter. Let's start with why you think youd be a good choice to sit upon the council of zeltros

Kyra sat, blinking at the woman’s words. Oh. So this really was a job interview. Well alright. She sat up a little straighter, not taking the moment a quarter as seriously as she ought to. It was just... well wasn’t this so exciting? Whether or not she got to wear a crown after this, Kyra did feel passionately about things and she did like telling others so.

“Oh I’m probably not. I mean let’s face it I’m like. Almost 17. I don’t know much- but jedi training teaches me what’s wrong and right and unlike you adults, I can’t be bought. Why are you guys so careless? It’s not like I’ve met anyone MY age that sees bad things and looks the other way. So why do you? Buncha hypocrites if you ask me. I always say me and my friends could do better.” She grabbed a brisket, biting eagerly into it and getting crumbs on her lap.

Her response was...well it had stardust...ok stardust didnt know at all how to react. She merely stared for a moment and glanced to her council then back to Kyra Perl Kyra Perl . This one stumped her, she was passionate, most jedi were it seemed, If anything she was quite gunho about this, Smirking stardust sat up clearly interested this one had a fire

it's good to admit your not, that's always a right step, however you say you cant be bought at all? That's a bold statement and then to point and say we the older generation is careless because we turn the cheek time to time...do tell me more ms pearl

"Tell you more about what?" Kyra countered, genuinely confused. Did the woman want her to babble about her beliefs? I mean she could do that any day she supposed, but with all these eyes on her it just made her uncomfortable. She picked at her cookie, crumbling it in her fingers.

"It's pretty black and white, I mean you learn about it all in the history books..."

ahhhh you say black and white like that's it.. what if you mix those two hmm? You get grey

She said as she poured some tea and then took a long drink, the council was right this was her favorite tea

given how young you are, you've yet to learn about that grey area, and that's fine

Kyra reeled back, a look of affront about her. “What’s so gray about helping people? You do, or you don’t. You can or your can’t. You want to, or you don’t. I’m sorry your highness but if you make it about anything else, then maybe you shouldn’t be in the field of helping people to begin with!”

she munched her cookie with a purposeful bite, a bit of sass leveled at the poor Queen.

Kyra didn’t have a filter. You could always trust her on that.
