Faction Coruscant Calamity Clearance (SMA)

It was a normal day in the Casualty Department of Galaxy General Medical Center. The station was still relatively new so they were nowhere near capacity. News of fighting in the core had staff constantly wondering if they would be called upon to help in the aftermath. Today it seemed they would be called on before it was all truly over.

"Galaxy General, This is Captain Eva Rostova of the civilian transport vessel Stardust Drifter. We have just completed a retrieval operation of a disabled transport originating from Coruscant. The transport is heavily damaged, and we have many injured individuals on board requiring immediate medical attention.

We are currently en route to your location and anticipate arrival within the next standard hour. Please prepare your medical bay for mass casualties. We will provide a more detailed manifest of injuries upon approach.

Your immediate assistance is crucial."

Stardust Drifter was a small tug assigned to this area by some Outer Rim Corporation that was not recalled by the medical staff. They dropped in on occasion when a crew member had a minor injury. This time it was nothing of the sort. In its tow was a medium civilian transport. Engines aflame and from the report of Captain Rostova, they had many injured.

The charge nurse for the Casualty Department was in charge of receiving the incoming emergency transmissions over the comm. The veteran Mirialan nurse was quick to move to the comm to reply. "This is Galaxy General. We have received your message Stardust Drifter, we will be ready to receive patients when you arrive. If you can get rough numbers ahead of arrival of major and minor injuries that would be helpful, but I know you aren't trained for that. We will be prepared for the worst."

"Thanks Galaxy General. We haven't been able to make contact yet with the crew. We are trying to board to get more info for you. We have heard civilian chatter over comms and it doesn't sound good. See you soon Galaxy General."

With a sigh the Mirialan nurse switched from comms to stationwide announcement system. "Attention all on-call emergency personnel report to the Casualty Department immediately. We have a mass casualty situation. ETA under one hour."

This would be the first real test of what the SMA had put together. How the team would handle a disaster was going to be discovered soon. The staff was led by veterans so it wasn't that they lacked skills or even know-how. But this would be the first experience for most of them together. That was always going to be a troubling thought until they got through their first test. Now was the time for them to put up or shut up.
