Finding it too dangerous to send actual people to raid and find the Cortosis located in the DMO base on the equator(Duro Mining Operation) on Duro, doctors, engineers and technicians sent droids. Usually these men and women did everything by the book, however, realizing how much profit they could make by stealing the material instead of buying it they settled on swindling the half dead Qaeth who had suffered irreversible injuries in an assassination attempt. The droids they sent were 4 HK-47 assassination droid, 2 restored Magna-Guards, and an astromech droid.
After dropping the droids down a few kilometers away from the Cortosis vaults, the droid hopped on their speeders and made haste to the vaults. Reaching a central heat vent shaft for the main ore oven, the droids cut their way through the bars covering it and slid down. The HK-47's went first, followed by the astromech and the Magna-Guards. A few meters down the shaft, one of the HK's began to cut open the shaft. After a great deal of cutting, the wall gave way to reveal a long hallway. Their programing had told them this would be the mot dangerous part yet.
After waiting 15 minutes a guard passed by the open duct but did not notice it. The HK closest to the entrance retrieved a stun rifle. Aiming it at the passing guard, the droid shot with lethal accuracy and the guard slumped over, knocked out cold.
The droids all jumped down except for the astromech who needed assistance from the Magna-Guards. The droids stealthily crept down the hallway until they reached a large set of doors. The doors were controlled by a large terminal connected to the wall. The astromech began to hack into the terminal, the droid must make haste for another guard would patrol that hall in the next minute.
Still hacking the terminal, another guard rounded the corner and was met by the barrel of an HK-47's rifle (set to stun, they were under strict do not kill orders). A few moments after the guard had been stuffed away in a maintence supply closet the astromech finally got through the security system.
The guards inside had little time to react to the opening door, when they were reaching for their blasters they were dropped to the floor by two HK-47's who, like the other guards, had stunned them into submission.
Walking into the room, the astromech scanned several large slabs of Cortosis before finally signaling one that was on a lower shelf. The two Magna-Guards walked over to it and picked it up with a bit of strain, realizing it's true weight, two of the HK's moved in to help.
Now came the hard part, the astromech moved to the terminal which accessed the ariel hatch and began hacking. Slightly less difficult than the door to the vault itself, the ariel hatch was open in a few seconds. With this now done, one of the HK's radioed to a third Magna-Guard waiting in a nearby freighter.
After many difficulties getting the 8' by 8' by 2' meter slab in the rented freighter the droids were off. Their escape was perhaps the easiest part of the adventure, arriving on Raxis Minor without any major events.
