Correspondance

Mantic placed the holorecorder on the table in front of him. It was a small machine, easy to use and a very common device seen all across the galaxy.
He, a jedi knight, was a seasoned warrior and had experienced all sorts of dangers during his life.
Yet, this machine made him nervous. He drew a comb through his hair and smoothed over his beard one last time.
He would record a message and transmitt it, it was not even a direct feed, why was he feeling nervous?

Pondering what he would say he drew the glass of water closer and drank some to help steady his voice as he finally switched it on.

The blue beam showered him and he knew his features would be somewhat dim in the recording. He still made sure to bow properly before speaking.

"Master Whitelight, I am sorry it has taken me such a long time to get to you since..." he paused. He had touched the sensitive topic of their relation. But it had to be said as well.

"Since I left you to join the jedi order of the galactic republic. I have been well Master and even though my duty has forced me to experience vast suffering and pain I know I have been able to stay true to my heart and the light."

"I have studied and trained hard and they have deemed me ready to mantle the status of knight in the order. For some time now I have taken a padawan of my own to teach. I can only strive to be as fullfilling as you were in that role master. I want you to know that this is not to a small degree because of your insights master."

"While our two orders have differences there are also similarities and you opened my eyes to many of them. Your good heart has always been a reminder to me about what truly makes a jedi. Make no mistake in that I recognize and respect that in you or the silver jedi. But I am also certain that I am where I belong. Where I can find peace and strength to keep serve the light against the everlasting darkness."

Mantic paused somewhat. His projection fluttering. Then he looked up again.

"I am well master. May the force be with you."

Mantic bent forward and ended the recording. Seconds afterward he sent the transmission through the atmosphere of Ossus, through space, and on to Voss where [member="Maya Whitelight"] would find her communication device having a message stored for her whenever she returned to her home.
