CNI

Corellian Naval Intelligence, originally a branch of CorSec, was the Corellian Confederation's main intelligence organization. It became clear with the attack by Ella Nova, a Sith agent posing as a New Republic Senator, that the Confederation truly could count little on its allies in the world of intelligence. As a result, the Office of Corelian Naval Intelligence was formed. Comprised of several main and support branches, CNI operated its own Fleet of covert warships, the Tactical Response Team - which operated with its own rules of engagement and top secret clearances, and the Special Operations branch which operated numerous black operations units that were entirely secret. On top of their military and surveillance operations they also oversaw secret programs and advanced weapons research and development.

Ranks

  • Lieutenant: The lowest rank of CNI.
  • Captain: Could command single ships or small squads within CNI.
  • Commander: Commanders held the ability to command small flotillas or platoons of soldiers.
  • Agent: Agent was the highest rank afforded to field operatives. At the rank of Agent one could supplant most ranks within the Corellian Confederation if they were in the way of an investigation. [Approved ranks were exempt from this]
  • Colonel: One of the highest ranks one can achieve. It offered substantial push and pull over most of the Corellian military and held extremely high security clearance. They commanded cells of the CNI and were the highest authority outside of the Admiralty of the CNI.
The following ranks require staff approval and are given to those who prove themselves IC to be competent leaders.
  • Admiral: Admirals worked directly under Deputy Directors to see their visions and missions come to fruition. With one of the highest ranks in the military Admirals of the CNI commanded respect. Admirals were in charge of several Colonels and their cells.
  • Deputy Director: Reporting to the Director only, Deputy Directors were not field agents, but often led their own projects and small groups within CNI. Much of what they did was classified even to other Deputy Directors.
  • [NPC] Director: The Director was the authority on any and all matters within the CNI. While technically he shared power with the Grand Admiral and Marshall when it came to the War Council, even they often deferred to the Director. The Director served the Corellian People first and was not a position to be challenged or taken lightly.
