SPECIAL FEATURES:
Tomuon cloth treated with Thermal-gel.

STRENGTHS
Provides Protection From Blaster and Blades: Shell-spider silk was one of the two layers sandwiched between the Tomuon cloth on the inner layer and the bantha hide on the outer layer. This layer was chosen to avoid serious injury from the unseen blade(vibro or otherwise) or blaster bolt, and to offer some protection when a fight could not be avoided.

Kinetic damage: The Tomuon cloth, which comprises most of the inner-layers of the coat, with a thin layer of shell-spider silk directly against the skin of the wearer, was subjected to a blending and soaking in thermal-gel, providing an excellent impact and general making for a reliable garment both to tumble and roll in, and keep themselves in one piece during whatever fool scheme they are engaged in.

Protection from the elements: The coats are generally breathable but can keep warmth intact pretty well if needed. Usually they are enough to keep any scoundrel or smuggler (or legitimate businessman if that is the case) comfortable within most climates, though more protection is needed for something extreme like a desert or ice world.
WEAKNESSES
No EMP/Ion Protection: The coats offer no protection whatsoever against Ion/EMP weapons.

No Protection from Sonic Attacks: The robes offer no protection whatsoever from sonic attacks.

Very Weak Against Lightsabers: Though the energy conducting properties of the Shell-spider silk might provide a minimum, and almost miraculous, defense from grazing strikes, these famed coats are no match for a directed blow of a lightsaber and are very easily destroyed by a simple direct blow.

DESCRIPTION
Corellians who chose this coat are often not wanting heavy armor, but they need *something* to help with protection, thus was born the idea of taking an iconic garment and giving it a little… Something more…

Shell-spider silk sandwiched with the treated tomuon cloth results in the primary layers of protection, with a light layer of armorweave just inside the innermost layer of shell-spider shilk used as a liner for the garment taking the protection a little higher than other similar garments.

The outermost layer is a fine grade bantha hide, treated with oils and waxes to make repellent to rain and other elements and keep well in said environs. The colors range, dependent on the wearer, as do pockets and other comfort design features on the interior and exterior.

One thing almost all of them sport are bloodsteel buckles or snaps on the higher end versions, with bronzium being the more utilitarian style. Some may even come with inbuilt, hidden armpit holsters for a hold-out blaster or similar such set-ups.

Colors and cut vary slightly from wearer to wearer, but the unmistakable flared collar and long tails down to mid calf or longer are hallmarks known across the Galaxy to this garment and says something about those wearing them. Danger, excitement, chaos, profit and a good time sometimes or even most of the time follow the foot-steps of those who wear this coat.

In the description you named a few differences in holsters, pockets, and colors. Are there any other parts of this coat that fit under modularity?

[member="Adron Malvern"] - Link is added, not sure what happened there.

Honestly, this is a skeleton framework idea for people to sub custom variants of of, in my mind. I would say the protective qualities could be altered by adding things like Norris Root dye to the bantha leather to add a modicum more lightsaber resistance, replacing armorweave with a higher strength protectant weave as we see in other submissions, one could feasibly alter the length of the coat from mid-calf to ankle or shorter around the mid thigh, or even the waist (though the idea is in the name, as a "long" coat ala Firefly and the TFA concept image in the sub). The idea was variant coats would be subbed separately.

Honestly... To list all the various modalities would be a hefty task, as it's a jacket, and that's a lot. Hence why I named the various/sundry bits I did in the description, to emphasize the modularity of the garment. Though if you feel it needs further elaboration, just let me know how you would like that done. My idea would be to list the standard 'off the rack' variant with a number of pockets, holster placement, and such options, and state any variation outside of that requires it's own sub for balancing? That way is allows standard modularity, and still encourages further customization, but keeps an eye on balance?
