DESCRIPTION
Since the advent of nuclear technology and the movement of various species into space, radiation has been one of the pre-eminent concerns of galactic society. Various of these societies have manufactured their own version of radiation resistance boosting drugs, but Pharmstar Industries has standardized it. Many biological systems are unique, with life forms being carbon, silicon, and other based. This has always posed a problem with standardizing medicine, as different biological systems had different needs. Thus, Pharmstar Industries has made aseries of potassium iodide based radiation resistance drugs tailors to the base of each form of life. This one is for the majority of the galaxy, which is carbon based.
The carbon based variety has shown to be toxic to silicon based life forms, with a standard dose capable of putting an adult in the hospital. It allows a carbon based life form to resist a large amount of radiation for a 6 hour period with little side effects. Imbibing it too regularly, or in too high a dosage, however, can lead to a carbon based biological system to develop resistance to the potassium iodide that is the base of the drug. It has also shown to increase the possibility of swollen extremities and has shown to upset stomachs of those with weak systems.
