Private Contained Testing: AFS-000

"I do have an upcoming project coming up, just finalizing some details before I give a prototype a try. Funnily enough your offerings save me the trouble of finding another animal to use for this prototype."

As of late, the week had been changed from the norm... With the doctor closely monitoring several aspects of the two, some were obvious such as their meals being organized so that the two remained both well fed and energized. Yet the rest was unseen, careful logs neatly sorted inside of her mind as she determined the endurance of her students, their strengths, weaknesses- Today was the day.

They would be brought to a room within the lab, finally getting to see what Vakhari had been up to all night long.

"Ah, there you both are!"

Behind the strange girl were the remains of several people ranging from several differing species, every single one had been carefully organized and cut. There wasn't a single part not on display, Jorryn would recognize some as the offerings she had given. They all seemed to have augmentations were previous standard organs had once been, a gruesome display that held no odor. All was perfectly preserved for her students to get a look at the finest details you could ever imagine- Aside from the soul of course.

"Focus now, take careful notes. You will need these soon, we have a very important test today."

Her words held no playfulness, no chipper attitude that Valaine had grown to enjoy or Jorryn had learned to find annoying.

After a moment she takes a step over to a tank, activating it so the armored plating moves down to expose a figure inside that stood in preservative liquid. A closer look shows a
heavily armored figure with no exposed features or identifiable gender, their helmet in the shape of an orb. Nothing on the suit showed that it was able to be taken off, no straps, zippers, buttons. Were they sealed inside of the armor?

"AFS, or 'armored flesh servant'. The armor and being inside of it are of my own design, I created more than what you see in this room. The goal is to make an effective fighting unit that could later be expanded upon, the ones I have today are simply prototypes. So far we have only done work here on the top level of the lab, down below are layers designed for contained testing."

She really hoped these two were paying close attention...

"The other units are down below, they have simple but clear instructions given by me. They are to kill you in the most effective way, as to what this translates to? Whatever they decide, that is a crucial part I will monitor closely."

Vakhari then activates an elevator, the doors opening to welcome the two.

"Your instructions are simple as well, destroy or immobilize all the prototypes. You may do this however you please, team up if you so desire."

Her hands reach out, offering the two equipment to monitor and record.

"I should mention, you two are going into this with more information over them... No weapons are to be brought with you, both you two and the prototypes will need to locate weaponry placed around."

And with that she waited for either questions, or for them to step into the elevator.

Valaine had entered with her Gorryn closely shuffling behind her, always with its eyes scanning and sniffing at the ground as it waddled after its creator, no doubt expecting her to throw something to the floor for it to eat; which she often did. For now though her little creation was just following around, breathing heavily as it often did before its dull thoughtless gaze shifted towards Jorryn in a brief flash of curiosity.

The Sangnir hadn't really interacted much with her fellow 'student' yet, and frankly the thought of having a fellow student at all didn't sit too well with her. Regardless her gaze shifted towards her partner instead, offering Vakhari a soft and warm smile before she'd turn her tired eyes towards the specimens on display. So her lover had been assembling some sort of genetically engineered shock trooper unit? Something about the way the armor seemed to lock in around its wearer unsettled her, but no less than anything else in the labs did.

But then as Vakhari went further into the detail of what the two would be doing she seemed taken aback by her words, tired eyes widening slightly with both surprise and concern. Vakhari could feel it through their bond; a type of stinging and brief pain on the heart no doubt caused by the fact the short doctor had essentially programmed her creations to kill the Sangnir.

The pale woman didn't know how to respond, and although it looked like she wanted to say something in protest or confrontation, her words failed her and she remained silent and at something of a loss. That pang, the dip of the heart, remained within their link through the Force and as she looked to the elevator doors opening she felt that foreboding sense of dread come over her. Doubt clouded her thoughts as she made her way towards it; of course... She'd fallen into a relationship with someone who was a part of the Sith Order, she knew what she was getting into, but it still hit her hard.

She gulped with concern as she stood in the elevator, the Gorryn tried to follow her but she gently nudged it back out before the door could close. Tired eyes stared back towards Vakhari in silent concern.

The time had finally come for the experiment Vakhari Lutris had promised Jorryn. It had gone something like the Echani imagined it would, being observed by the Arkanian. She chewed the inside of her lip as she looked over at the woman, silently hoping that this wouldn't be the common experience.

For now, she would allow Vakhari to continue with her tests. Calling it observation for the sake of understanding.

Beside her stood the Sangnir she had come to understand, and the tiny insult to the Echani's name slobbering beside her. Gorryn's tongue hung from it's mouth as is looked up to it's lady, begging for something to eat. It's namesake turned her smirk into disgust as she looked back up to Valaine, clearly unimpressed by the creature.

"Is bringing that thing with you everywhere necessary?" The lack of camaraderie between them was apparent, still abrasive and cold with one another. "I suppose I should be flattered you hold a reminder of me so close."

The words lacked the cold charm she usually had, Gorryn clearly knocking the subtlety of the words away. There hadn't been much love between the pair before Valentine created the walking garbage bin, and less after it came to life. If there was anything that the pair could agree on, it was that Jorryn should not have been a student.

Instead of bickering, Jorryn continued to move forwards to the hanging specimen, taking in the augmentations created without any second given to caring that some of them were her gifts to Vakhari. The modifications still pulsed against the unmoving flesh, twisting in and out of muscle and sinew.

Their purpose and use wasn't clear until the fog of the containment chamber lifted, an armoured figure floating in front of them. If the being inside was anything like those strung above them, then it had been twisted beyond recognition. Perhaps twisted beyond life as well. A hand reached forward to get a feeling for it's insides, but the shall prevented decent observation.

"These beings inside of these Servants..." Amber eyes lingered upon the creature before turning back towards Vakhari. "Are they alive or dead? Do they think or just listen?"

The question was important. As much as Vakhari enjoyed the expertise of technology, the pair fighting them were experts of the flesh. Jorryn had a strength in the force, of course, but her specialty lay in causing the blood and flesh to riot against itself. Valaine was a Sangnir, a youth if her attitude was anything to go by, and her biology was created to rip and consume bodies not metal.

Taking a place beside Valaine in the elevator, Jorryn's mind was filled with curiosity over concern. The creatures seemed created to counter their abilities, perhaps as a chance to grow. It would be good training of course, but the Echani held a touch of concern for Vakhari's limits when it came to testing.

"Let's not go running off," Her eyes peered across Valaine, noting the stiffness of her posture. "Unless you think those claws and fangs of yours are enough to penetrate that armour."

The sting that rippled through the bond did indeed make the doctor feel more than she ever had before, her hand shivered as she debated all of this within the last moment... Never once had she ever done this before, it was all surgical, direct, the test was always done.

The girl's own sadness traveled along their thread, Valaine able to feel that Vakhari doubted doing this- Up until she closed her eyes, a new feeling dancing across to her lover. It sung into her pale ear as the feeling of a warm embrace enveloped around the Sangnir.

"You are better than them, go bloom."

Words only Valaine could hear, encouragement.

But why shake off the doubt?

It was simple, this was more than a testing of the AFS units. She needed to test Valaine beyond simple training droids, if she coddled her for too long she would never be safe. The doctor had many eyes, yet she could never keep an eye on Valaine every moment...

The tower... Seeing Valaine get knocked out, never again.

And so, with a gentle nod the doctor presses down the button, sending the two down into this new area.
"Are they alive or dead? Do they think or just listen?"

The sigil of house Lutris would appear on the HUD of the gear they were both given, Vakhari was jacked in and fully connected to both of them now.

"They are alive, and both listen to orders while also being able to think on their own. Today is a test to see how they preform with a simple order."

After a moment their elevator stops, the doors opening to show an empty hall. Everything seemed to be in the same style as the top level, plain, sterile.

Everything was silent for now, with only themselves and the idle clicking of the elevator light.

Aside from the door at the end of the hall, there were three other rooms. One being a sealed containment room, the two able to see through the window that a single
container sat on the table.

Another room had no window to peer through, however the door seemed partway open, unlocked.

The last room had an armored door, a keycard scanner adjacent to the door signaled that the intended way to enter was by used of the card.

But what else was there?

They both held strengths, Valaine's keen senses could hear the faint humming of ventilation. Able to hone in on what panel hid the grate on the ceiling that would lead into it, but was it the right call?

Jorryn held a similar connection to flesh like Vakhari, and much like her teacher she would be able to feel that inside that rather sealed and plain looking container was something alive... Dormant, unending hunger, potency. But much akin to the previous finding- Was it the right call? Whatever was inside was dangerous for sure, with Vakhari's own touches making it obvious who made it.

The clock began to tick, the prototypes were set loose somewhere else in the lab.

The comfort the young Sangnir felt through the shared bond with her lover was felt, the encouragement heard, but Valaine still had her doubts, concerns, and that lingering pang of sadness that came with her partner ordering creatures to kill her if they could. Perhaps Vakhari had all the confidence in the galaxy that she'd be fine; but it was the act of it that caused her emotional turbulence and distress.

The elevator doors closed and began to descend and it seemed that the entire test had now put Valaine in something of a foul mood as she side-glanced Jorryn and huffed in annoyance. "Gorryn isn't a reminder of you, you're a reminder of it. Really, you're so full of yourself, thinking you're more important than it..." she answered plainly and with no lack of venom in her words before turning her gaze forward once more as the elevator continued to descend.

When it came to a halt and the doors opened Valaine was rather swift to exit the elevator, not seeming to wait for Jorryn at all as she walked forward in arrogant confidence despite her concerns. She wasn't certain Jorryn even knew about her claws, the ones Vakhari had made and implanted in her, but she had a feeling they'd be capable enough. When she approached the window revealing the container inside one of the rooms she paused to study it for a moment. Just a container? No doubt it'd be useful for something...

Her tired gaze turned around and noticed the armored door with the keypad besides it; great... a puzzle. She hated puzzles. Her shoulders slumped slightly before turning her attention to the door that was slightly open, deciding that it was best to check that one first. If any of the other doors opened they'd perhaps hear it do so, but this one? She didn't like that it was already ajar.

Upon her right hand her metal razor sharp claws extended from her fingers, bearing runes upon the alchemized blades. She approached that slightly open door and moved to place her left hand upon it, if it was jammed at all she'd use her inherently enhanced Sangnir strength to pull it open and reveal what might be waiting inside whilst keeping her claws at the ready.

A vein surfaced on the forehead of the former Lord Inquisitor's brow and the Sangnir spoke up. This pale skinned neck-biter always seemed insistent on provoking her, granted Jorryn hardly helped with the relationship between them. Bickering had been far more common in the laboratory than any true work, but perhaps this offered an opportunity to move past such pettiness.

"Why do you always act like such a little bi-"

Perhaps not.

The words had been cut off by the loudness of the door prying itself open and, with a huff that matched Valaine's, Jorryn decided it best to allow the words to fall away in silence. Instead she moved forward, amber eyes peering amongst the walls of the chamber they found themselves in. As Valaine pushed past the Echani, another tally marked itself in her mind.

The immediate call of the small container pulled her towards the window, an attempt to reach forward with the force to better understand exactly what was sealed within. It was hungry, an abyssal yawn in the pit of this laboratory. Whatever it was held a strength to it, though she was unsure if releasing it was the right call. Either way, there was no rush. The servants that were hunting them hadn't beared down yet, so they had time to discover a plan.

"We should check all the rooms first and decide which way to g-"

A hand collapsed against her face as she turned and saw the Sangnir already attempting to brute force herself through the most suspicious of the doors, accepting the unprompted invitation of the small crack. Jorryn had already passed it off as too obvious, wondering if the reason there had been no window was to obfuscate threats. For all they knew the armoured opponents lay in wait there.

And yet, there was something worth noting. Her eyes watched as the muscles of the Sangnir tensed, an eyebrow raising as she saw the strength of the vampire. Sangnir had only been examined from afar by the Former Lord Inquisitor, though it was clear their natural strength was no joke. It was only enhanced by the claws that pulled forth from the girl's nails. A hint of alchemy penetrated her nose as she smelt it.

With another sigh, Jorryn drew close behind the sangria, away from where the door swung open. She didn't exactly want to get slammed in the face.

If the Sangnir bothered to notice, she would feel the Echani's gaze examining her instead of whatever lay beyond the door. The scientist in Jorryn was curious about the nature of this being before her, and she looked upon Valaine without irritation for once, but instead a curiosity.

As Jorryn focused on that container for a moment, she would understand that the power held within could help eliminate their problem- The only issue being that whatever hunger was put to rest by the doctor was endless, you solve one problem for the potential of another.

The door that Valaine wanted to get past was no issue, with the observant former inquisitor seeing as the brute strength of a Sangnir easily shoved the door into the wall. The metal sticking out from the wall as this approach made a fair bit of noise... But what was in this room?

It appeared to be an office- Or well, was once one. Several terminals lie dormant, most being damaged in ways that suggested action had happened. Burn marks, old stains.. They dotted places in the room. Were they the first to be sent here? The markings seemed to be rather old, suggesting that other tests had been done here.

One of the terminals appeared online, an opportunity to slice into data or valuable intel provided one of them knew how to do such a thing with no tools to make it easier.

Aside from this, many of the desks held random items. Some being useless office supplies, yet one desk held a card. 'Sec-001' being labeled onto it.

The young Sangnir appeared to be paying very little attention to Jorryn as she opened the door to reveal the room within. Cautiously, despite her opening of the door, she made her way into the office-like room as her tired grey gaze shifted towards the terminals, slowly pacing by the desks until she came to a halt at the one that appeared to still be online.

Valaine wasn't the most tech savvy girl as she glanced back to Jorryn instead, finally acknowledging her only when it suited her need; "Hey, do you know much about operating these?" she asked as she gestured to the one online terminal. Whether she got an answer or not she turned to start examining the rest of the room.

The claws on her right hand were still extended, just in case, as she glanced over the desks and lightly shifted through various office supplies until finally she came across the card. She picked it up and turned it over in her hand as she examined it; no doubt it was one of the cards, if multiple were needed, to get through the locked door in the hall...

She'd turn to briefly flash the card towards Jorryn to let her know she had it before she started making her way back out of the room, no doubt she'd be eager to just see if it was what they needed. As far as she was concerned the faster they got through this the better.

As the door was drawn open by the Sangnir, Jorryn herself shuffled in behind the woman as they made their way inside. It was an office, or at least had been one before whatever went down here. There were signs of a battle and a small part of the Echani had wondered if Vakhari had trapped the pair inside a kill room, but the thought quickly passed.

As Valaine finally addressed her once again, Jorryn moved to the final open terminal as she sought some information. Sitting down, she wasn't exactly skilled with slicing or computers in general, but hopefully she managed to gain something.

"Not exactly, I usually have people that can do this stuff for me." As she typed away in the terminal, it seemed pointless. At every turn files were hidden behind passwords or some type of other security. "You've been in Lady Lutris' care longer than I have, any idea what type of passwords she'd use?"

The Echani fell back in the chair and looked back towards the Sangnir, watching as the card was flashed back towards her. A thought for which room would be security pondered for a moment, but none of them screamed out towards her.

"Give that a go while I try to mess around in here." Jorryn turned back to the terminal and continued her efforts to find anything of use. "And please do give me a shout if you run into any of those armoured servants, I don't think this could be called a success if either of us died."
