STANDARD FEATURES
The Conquest-class features systems, computers, and sensors equivalent to other military cruisers built by other companies and governments with easily updated software and hardware to keep them to military standards.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Miscellaneous
Strengths:
  • Unleash the Hordes: The Conquest-class is a troop transport carrying hundreds of ground support vehicles, supplies, and thousands of soldiers to a planet.
  • Shield Opener: Using a Shield Disrupting Projector affixed to the ventral surface of the Conquest, the ship is designed to open a hole in Theater and Planetary shields, roughly the size of the hangar opening, allowing its shuttles and drop ships direct access to a planet to be conquered.
Weaknesses:
  • Indiscriminate: The Shield Disrupting Projector unfortunately also disables the shields of friendly and enemy ships between it and the Planetary shield, meaning its drop ships usually travel into the atmosphere with no shields until they are able to reboot them.
  • Gap in the Armor: Because the Projector is made to disable shields, it leaves the area around the hangar unprotected while active. This makes it vulnerable to lucky shots into the hangar area of the vessel.
  • Small: The opening isn’t titanic, only the same size as the hangar aperture and so not much bigger than a corvette or perhaps a small frigate will be able to pass through the opening as it's simply meant to allow shuttles and drop ships.
DESCRIPTION
A relatively simple design based on the Acclamator-class Assault Cruiser built for the Imperial Revenant in small numbers to deliver its armies, whenever unleashed, unto unsuspecting worlds. The Conquest-class is more or less the same as its ancient predecessor, using a belt-system above its hangar to move shuttles and dropships from staging holds where they can be loaded prior to a battle and identical weaponry. Most of its differences lie in modernized computer banks, life support, and support systems.

The main upgrade from the standard Acclamator-class is a Shield-Disrupting Projector affixed around the hangar opening on the ventral surface of the vessel. When activated it creates a hole in planetary and theater shields beneath it, allowing ships and ordnance to fly through the defenses and to the ground below. There are some detriments, such as the projector causing shields within its field to likewise be disabled, mostly meaning those shields of the ship’s passing through the aperture beneath and leaving the hangar unprotected while active. Another is that the projector is fixed, so that it only affects things directly below the ventral hangar, and that it’s range is limited, forcing the Conquest-class to approach the planet very closely before it is able to create an opening for its forces.

A benefit of this device is that dropships no longer need to be fitted with Individual Field Disruptors in order to pass through a planet’s shields, which can be extremely expensive to fit onto a fleet of shuttles. It could also be used to make openings for boarding actions on large and particularly ponderous ships like Super Star Dreadnoughts and Stations and allow space walk boarding actions directly.
