Commoner on Commenor

He grinned from ear to ear, a chuckle escaping his lips. She was free, she was free to make choices and she had the freedom to be happy. She could leave anytime she wanted, he was pretty sure she had a deputy president or something. Actually, he took that back, it was Lady Kay. She'd of turned down a deputy because she enjoyed doing things herself, that wasn't a bad thing but it removed that freedom from you. He watched her again lightly, sipping the tea from the mug in his hands.

"See, that's where me and you differ, I don't like being locked down, I like action! Call me young and reckless but the moment you try and lock me down I just get bored"

Kay smirked. [member="Kei Garnik"] thought that she enjoyed being tied down? It was quite the opposite. She was used to always being on the move, but now that she was running a planet, it wasn't so easy for her to go unnoticed.

"Trouble comes to me no matter where I am. So this job is hardly boring. I try to keep the Commenori safe so that their lives aren't so eventful. But there's crime lords to deal with, various governments and organizations that wish to take advantage of us and then there are our enemies. Plus my own enemies. Taking this position just means that I get into a little less trouble. And gives me extra protection when I do get into it."

Thank the Force that she couldn't have children. No doubt they would be constantly sought after as hostages.

Kei chuckled, she really didn't know how to stay still and stay out of trouble. That wasn't a bad thing, not really. She had a good security team that could protect her though, so he was sure she'd be safe no matter what happened. Alright, she wouldn't die, safe is something different. If he had the chance he'd give her an alarm to connect to his comlink if she ever got kidnapped, that'd be a good thing. He'd happily rush to her aid.

"Well, you seem to be enjoying it anyway. Too much paperwork though, the one big turnoff"

Kay shrugged her shoulders a bit. "The paperwork isn't too bad. It's mostly contracts and permits. Though I have the other Ministers to take care of writing up those. I just go over them and sign them."

She smirked a little to herself as she looked around her office, before turning her attention back to [member="Kei Garnik"] . "The drawback is all of the meetings and very little time to one's self. I am hardly ever alone, which I know is for good reason, but...it can be annoying at times." She tilted her head to the side a bot as she thought back on some of the things that he had said and perhaps why he was here. "Are you looking for work?"

He offered a weak smile, nodding. He wasn't really looking for work, he had enough going on. He was constantly testing things for Matsu and that was providing enough to get by. Yet, more work was never allowed to go amiss. Working for Lady Kay couldn't be that bad, could it? Heck, even if it was part time it'd be worth it. If she allowed him to focus on his own things and assist where he could then he'd be alright with it. He had other things to be focusing on, Noriko's to be dating and exploring the galaxy with. He shrugged, smiling again.

"Would it involve me sat behind a desk? Would I be able to come and go on a volunteer thing? I have galaxies to explore and girls to date"

He chuckled.

"If the the answer is no and yes then i'm slightly interested"

Kay laughed. Spoken like pretty much all the men that she's come across. They all consider themselves to be playboys. More than likely it was half the reason why she stayed away from the dating scene.

"Don't worry Kei. You'll still be able to sew your wild oats around the Galaxy. I'll need you to be my eyes and ears for any threats to Commenor. Most especially in Hutt space. Interested?"

[member="Kei Garnik"]

He laughed. Spoken like pretty much all the politicians he'd come across. They all consider themselves to be in danger. More than likely it was half the reason why he stayed away from politics and that scene.

"Oh yey! Noriko'll be pleased, she's very much an adventurer. You need me to report any threats to Coommenor or to you or to both? Kark it, you want me to personally destroy any threats to Commenor or to you or to both?"

Kay shook her head a bit with a smirk. So many were quick to kill with no questions asked. More than likely it was why she didn't fit in very well with Mandalorian culture. Or at least, not with mostly all of them.

"Killing should be a last resort. But I'll need information. And if the Hutt Cartel really is back, then I'm going to need to organize some missions again to disrupt their slave trades and spice deals."

[member="Kei Garnik"]

He laughed. If she was really planning to take out some slave trades he wanted to be involved. He hated slavery, slavery was stupid. Everyone had a right to be free, they didn't and shouldn't be thrown around and abused.

"Yeah, no killing. Information I can do. And if the Hutt Cartel really is back, then I want in on your missions to distrupt their slave trades and spice deals"

Kay smiled and nodded to [member="Kei Garnik"] . "Then you're hired. The White Palace on Sriluur would be a good start. Or anywhere really in former Hutt territory."

Finally it seemed that things have turned out for the better. No more was she being chastised.

He was glad that they'd made up over tea, though he was worried. Infliltrating the Hutt Cartel, if they were even still around was dangerous. They were a bunch of criminals who would turn on you the second they had the chance. Kei radiated light sided force energy as well, what that meant was that anyone with a weak force sense could detect him, then he'd very much be dead. He needed to remain careful, slow and not have any chance at getting caught. Then it hit him, when he'd first met Lady Kay, Senator Kay, she'd masked her force presence to him, if he could find a way to hide his force presence like that.

"When we first met, you did a thing where you hid your force presence from me. I wondered how you did that, I figure it'll be good to know if i'm marching into the home of the criminals. I radiate force energy, the moment anyone in there is a slight force user my cover is blown"

It was a skill that she excelled at and [member="Kei Garnik"] was right. He did need to know it.

"The skill is both simple and tough at the same time. It takes a lot of practice and while your signature is small, you'll also lose your abilities to use it. So in a way, you blind yourself from it. That's the drawback.

To do it you have to focus on your signature and how it flows around you. Think of it forming a bubble, and then focus on shrinking that bubble down to the size of a small tree nut. You'll have to maintain your focus constantly to avoid detection. However, the more powerful the Force user, the less chance you have of hiding from them."

He wasn't imaginative, not really. Imagining a bubble was hard enough, but eventually he had a picture of a bubble around him, quite large to give him room for error. The bubble was the force, and he was feeling out with the force constantly, trying to make it work with him. He tried to force the bubble around him to close in on him, nothing. The bubble wouldn't flinch, and he already knew the force wasn't moving unless that bubble did. He pushed again, he pushed hard. He wanted to make that bubble move, he wanted to make that bubble close on him and suffocate him, only then could he control the force around him.

He felt the bubble shrink, and for a brief second Kay would feel nothing, no force energy from Kei at all before he lost concentration. He could do it, that much was obvious. He'd need to refine it but he could shrink his force presence enough to go undetected for a short while. He nodded to Lady Kay, removing a small comlink from his pocket as he thanked her for the help. She was a great teacher in a number of ways, she'd never failed to not teach him something.

He dropped the comlink on her desk.

"Direct communication. I'll relay information from inside the Cartel every night, inform me before you move on them. You've been a great help, and i'm glad to be your friend m'lady. Now if you excuse me I have a Cartel to go hide in"

And with that, and a reply, he would begin to exit. He'd signed himself up for a task alright.

Kay watched [member="Kei Garnik"] while he practiced. She watched him overthink it and at times not focus enough. But then for a short moment, he had it. She smiled and gave him a thumbs up.

"Just keep practicing on your way there. And be sure to practice in noisy places as well. The White Palace and other Cartel haunts aren't exactly quiet places to be. I'll keep you in the loop. Be sure to check out their slave camps a few kilometres away from the Palace. More than likely, if it is full of slaves, that will be where we will strike first."
