Common Festival

It was the Summer Festival in Chasin City on Commenor. Flowers, food and fun were everywhere. Hundreds of booths were set up with people all over the place selling their wares. Concert stages were set up with various styles of music playing to pertain to everyone's tastes.

It was a great atmosphere. Given that war had hardly crossed their borders, securrity wasn't so tight, giving everyone a sense of ease.

Kay was escorted by a couple of plain clothed guards, herself not dressed in any gown, but simple slacks and blouse, armed with just her tiny holdout pistol the Diplomat (in bio) and her wits. Her Force Signature was shrunken down to that of a small tree nut, a habit that she had formed long ago. The Force and politics weren't a trusted mix afterall.

She headed over to one of the merchant tents, one filled with various wooden crafts and carvings. With such a wide mix of people, it was easy for unsavoury characters to pass through.

Lao was one of those unsavory characters wondering through the market place. He wasn't looking for anything in particular. Just going from stall to stall perusing at his pleasure. He really wanted to find some herbs and perhaps some tea, but it wasn't needed.

This was his first time to Commenor so he decided to keep it simple and easy, and was open to just about anything happening. The best way. He really didn't have any signs or other was to show his affilication with the various Factions he was apart of. He knew it was the best way to get by most places.

Lao was clad in some dark orange robes with his lightsaber. The robes were not consistent with the Jedi Order and his lightsaber wasn't visible. His hair was down so one could see his face and his horns. He did not hide his ancestry nor his past.

The Common Festival was full of people from various form of life. The hangar bay was still taking in guests that came either from their own ships or with the transports that were sent to them. The people were given different forms of entrainment to enjoy themselves. Soon another two guests came out of a ship of them came out of the ship. One, an older woman in a wheelchair and alongside that woman was a young man with similar features as her and a droid.

Barr Vexos, his mother Ellen and the droid alongside them came out of the ship and moved on the docking bay platform. Barr looked around the hangar bay and the other guests.

“How long will your meeting last?” He asked while looking around, checking to see if anyone or anything look out of the ordinary. His mother was involved in an important meeting to better relations between diverse groups.

“I honestly don’t know Barr. ” She answered, “Meeting like these will take time. ”

Barr grunted, he didn’t like waiting around but he took solace in knowing he will be entertained. He wondered what the meeting was going to be about. His mother wouldn’t tell him anything about other than it was important. He hated being left in the dark like this, but he knew he shouldn’t be surprised. She has been doing meetings like these for as far as he could remember. The group walked out of the hangar bay and went to the reception desk and after a few minutes, the three enter inside a transport ship along with others people. After making sure that that the max number of people are inside the ship and that everyone has been seated and secure, the pilot slowly moves the transport ship out of the hangar bay and drove toward the festival.

Kay wasn't sure of what she had wanted for so many of the wooden carvings were so well done. She picked up a small pair of hair pins, ones that could be perfectly fitted in a stylized bun. They were fitted with tiny polished gemstones that weren't expensive, but gave off the effect as though they were.

She paid for them, not really being the type to accept freebies, and then wandered off towards the next tent. Her guards kept near to her, but far enough away to give them some space. Kay glanced over to [member="Lao Tzu"] briefly. His robes were an uncommon colour, but they clearly seemed to indicate that he was a Force user. Which side he served, if any, she wasn't sure. But it wasn't as though she judged people on that basis. The Commenor Systems Alliance sector was neutral, and she had people from all sides working in her government, to help her have a better understanding and different points of view. So far that had provided a huge benefit for her people.

The smells of the tea hut drew Kay towards it. So many varieties lay within it, most especially her favourite, Sapir tea. Today however, she thought that she'd try something else. Now it was all a matter of which one.

Hmmm.

Decisions. Decisions.

Lao went from stall to stall but noticed the plain clothes guards before whom they were escorting. He quickly decided upon a course of action. Something direct.

Lao continued to look through the various stalls until he found something that was mildly interesting. Honey, made from one of the local planets. He didn't want to pronounce it because, well he was bad with foreign languages so didn't want to offend anyone over his botching of the local dialect. He grabbed two medium jars of it and paid the attendant the credits that she asked for.

He walked right up to her,[member="Lady Kay"], and handed her one of the jars and mentioned...

"It will go will with that tea."

And then continued to walk past her with out hesitation, yes it probably flustered the guards. But they were in the middle of the market place. What were they expecting?

Kay chewed the inside of her cheek as she studied the various teas. Maybe something a little hardier would work. Hmm. There were red teas, green teas, greys and gold. Finally she settled on a red tea that included a mixture of nuts.

It was when she was just selecting it off the shelf that [member="Lao Tzu"] approached and handed her....a jar of honey? Without missing a beat he just continued on his way, leaving Kay a little dumbfounded. "Thank you!.. " she called out after him. Yet she wasn't so sure if he had heard her.

Quickly she paid for the tea and then walked out of the tea hut with her wares in hand, though her eyes were darting the crowds for any sign of the orange robes. At first she thought that she had caught glimpses. But there were so many people milling about that it was hard to say. "Well...I'm sure that we'll see him if he wants to be found." Some people were shy, while others just weren't fond of a lot of interaction. It was hard to say where this stranger belonged.

Only time would tell.

Barr grunted, he didn't mind being in a transport ship with strangers, but he certainly did mind having to wait for the ship to arrive at the destination. He looked over at the people in the ship with him and his mother, unbeknown to them of the meeting that will be happening during the festival. He tried to get information on the meeting and what it will be about but his mother would bludge on it one bit which leave Barr annoyed. He wondered who was more stubborn between her or his father a voice could be heard over the speaker, "Okay everybody we are now the designated area. Please make sure you have all you're belongings and are seated as we prepare to land."

Looking outside the window Barr saw the festival and some of the people there. He realized that the festival was going to be is the only form of entertainment and check the information on the festival to see if there was anything he liked. In the end, he just figured he was going to walk around and check out the place after he took his mom over to the meeting area.

Meanwhile, over at the festival, people are enjoying themselves to varying degrees. One person looks up to the ship that Barr is on and smiles. "One of the last targets has finally arrived." He through to himself. "Soon...." was the only word that came out of his mouth as he walked along with the crowd, his trigger finger getting itchy from the lack of using his blaster. He didn't show it, but he was in bliss as he had waited for this day for a long time. He and his group were not about to let this opportunity go.
