COMMENOR
851 ABY - THE GREAT GALACTIC WAR
[THEME]

Everything was calm over Commenor as an Imperial Star Destroyer and two smaller escort cruisers whipped out of hyperspace, merchant vessels and smugglers alike instinctively vacating the area to go about their business as usual. Fortunately, the Empire's business with the hub of commerce wasn't to search ships for illicit cargo or fend off ambitious pirates, but with the monarchy of the planet and by extension the galactic power that had risen from it. After idling for several minutes uninterrupted, a Lambda shuttlecraft descended from the ventral hangar bay of the main ship, gliding for the planet trailed closely by a duo of TIE Defenders.

On the surface, the shuttle's destination would be soon ascertained as the Imperial embassy that had been set up several months ago, so that diplomatic ties with the Systems Alliance could be pursued to their furthest. Landing gently on one of the landing pads, its wings folding inwards, the landing ramp lowered and met the durasteel ground with a slight thud. A squad of black, heavily-armoured stormtroopers from the elite Purge Batallion uniformly disembarked from the shuttle and divvied themselves up on either side of the ramp, effectively securing the area as regular stormtroopers came from the embassy in recognition.

Gromm strode down the ramp with an aura of authority surrounding him, partially garnered by his crisp, white uniform with gold epaulettes. An older gentleman with a few younger colleagues at his tail approached Cardan and gave a nod of indication, "Grand Admiral Cardan, I presume?" The older man queried, receiving an acknowledgement from the Epicanthix. "Indeed, I was promoted after my performance in the Chommel Offensive," Gromm informed, a small smile tugging at his features, "I see that you've had no lapse in work, Moff Erinth. I trust you've been fulfilling your duties well?"

"Of course, those sycophants in the Information Office have had quite the time of asking me the goings-on of other embassies." Erinth chuckled "It's nothing like being at the helm of a fleet, but it's honest work that pays off." The grand admiral snickered slightly "It's good to see you again, old friend. I have some other duties to attend to before I can look over the embassy, with a star destroyer in orbit I suspect my quarry to arrive any minute..."

How often is it that an Imperial Star Destroyer plus two escort cruisers visited Commenori space? Hardly ever. And so it caught the attention of the Security Forces rather quickly, given the tensions elsewhere in the Galaxy. However, the sensor sweeps revealed the weapon systems weren't online, which was good, given that the Galactic Empire were supposed to be allies.

A message was sent to Kay's office straight away. There was no doubt that something was up, and so it needed attention straight away. Or at least that was what they thought.

Kay figured that she was done her work for the day, having just wrapped up a few things when the message came through. Her brows furrowed as she scrolled through her inbox to see if a message had come through earlier indicating the Galactic Empire's intent on visiting. But there was nothing. This was a surprise visit.

After summoning a transport, she left the Royal Palace with a few uniformed guards as her escort. It didn't take them long to arrive at their destination, the Embassy of the Galactic Empire, one of the many that were housed in Chasin City. Kay sent word to her husband [member="Veiere Arenais"] of her delay in coming home and the reasons for it. More than likely he'd understand. Although he'd probably be just as curious as she was over the intent of the visit.

Kay couldn't compose herself quick enough as she stepped out of her transport. She tucked some strands of her hair behind her right ear as she walked up to the door of the Embassy, giving the guards on duty a bit of a nod before speaking. "May I come in? It seems as though an important visitor has arrived and I must greet them properly." This was her domain afterall.

Standing upon the balcony overlooking the plains of Commenor and the capital, Chasin City, his gaze was drawn skyward as the sudden appearance of a Star Destroyer snapped into orbit accompanied by two smaller vessels, dots from this distance though no doubt a protective detail of some sort. In today's light, there were numerous political powers that used the like of Destroyers within their Navy, Commenor itself was one of such powers thanks to the generosity of the Galactic Empire and his wife's ability to befriend almost anyone over a cup of herbal Tea; despite her best efforts however, Veiere Arenais had been unable to let go of his pessimism over their neighboring nations, the Empire itself closer to them than most by diplomatic standing though with War upon the lips of eight out of ten people across society today, that could soon change with but the smallest of incentive and perception of malcontent.

"Vikras, what're you seeing?".

Veiere spoke into his comm-link, seeking the Grand Admiral's mind on the developing situation; "Imperial signatures, the Galactic Empire judging by our records..." Admiral Ansion spoke curtly, The QueensGuard for which he stood upon the bridge sporting the System's Alliance signature Battle-Cruiser drifted through space coming into range of Imperial sensors, all weapon systems on standby and otherwise showing no incentive of powering up or provoking an attack; "I didn't realize we were expecting Company...".

"Nor did I...Keep me posted, I'm going to head for the Capital and check in with Kay...".

While the Admiral would go about the appropriate welcoming procedures of such company, Veiere's attention would be turned for the The Commenori Pheonix intent on having Terrac whisk him off for the Royal Palace with prompt haste. His attire, lacking any armaments nor sign that he was expecting a fight to come of all of this, yet his expression portraying something of suspicion given the timing of the guests arrival.

A stormtrooper lieutenant, as indicated by her rank pauldron, approached the group and saluted them, T-21 strapped onto her shoulders. "Moff Erinth, sir. The queen has arrived at the embassy and is requesting to meet the visitor." She informed, voice filtering through the electronics in her armour's helmet. Erinth nodded and glanced at Cardan "It would seem as if your deduction proved correct, let us not keep her waiting, shall we?" He marvelled.

The Imperial stormtroopers at the entrance to the embassy had complied with the queen's queries well enough, informing the rest of security to the situation so that it may be handled. Nearly two minutes had passed before one of them brought their hand up to the side of their helmet, nodding along to orders until he signalled for his compatriot to open the doors of the embassy for the queen and her entourage. Inside she would find the lobby, where Grand Admiral Cardan, Moff Erinth, and the rest of the Imperial ambassadors stood waiting patiently.

Gromm stepped forward in a non-threatening manner, which was somewhat difficult due to his height, as he was a good foot taller than the woman thanks to his species. "Greetings, Your Highness. I am Grand Admiral Gromm Cardan of the Imperial Navy, a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He beamed, bowing in respect to the monarch, "I apologize for the abruptness of my visit, the Moff Council would've sent a warning of my arrival were they not concerned about the Alliance intercepting the transmission."

Major Lorik, current commander of Purge Squadron, stood proudly at the side of the Grand Admiral as the shuttle arrived at the Imperial Embassy on Commenor, and remained so as they proceeded inside, he and his men acting as the Grand Admiral's bodyguard. As the High Queen arrived, Lorik's men quickly took up ceremonial positions, stood to attention while Lorik remained beside the Imperial Grand Admiral vigilantly. "Area secured, sir.", he said politely, before going silent once the Admiral and Lady began to speak.

Those two minutes seemed to tick by ever so slowly. Kay stood there waiting patiently, although inside her mind was still racing. Why was she a bit nervous? It wasn't as though they had done anything to harm their relationship with the Galactic Empire in any way. Nor have they interfered with their interests. Perhaps the reasons for her worry were just for the fact that the Empire and others were at war with one another. There was a good chance that they'd be asked to take part in some way.

Finally Kay was granted entry. She walked inside with her guards following suit, hands at their sides and not on their weapons. This wasn't their first time in the Embassy. They knew the protocols.

The lobby wasn't far off, and it was there that she saw everyone assembled. Kay bowed her head as she was greeted. "Welcome to Commenor Grand Admiral Cardan. To what do we owe the honour of this visit?" The fact that the Galactic Alliance could be spying on them was a bit far fetched. They have hardly had any contact. Yes, General [member="Aryn Teth"] did visit to try to coax her into supporting their Alliance with the help of her own forces, but as she had told others, their numbers couldn't support that. She had her own people to protect. Angering one side or the other was a good way to ensure they became overwhelmed.

Trade was the important thing. It kept their economies going and food on the table. It allowed them to continue to build up their defences. It allowed them to prosper. It kept them safe in an otherwise dangerous Galaxy.

Her eyes drifted to [member="Lorik Rygan"] momentarily. He was new. She hadn't seen the Purge Squadran before. There was no need to.

She turned her attention back to [member="Gromm Cardan"] and Moff Erinth. "The Emperor hasn't fallen ill or anything, has he?"

Before the Kingsguard could get close to the Royal Palace, Terrac had radioed ahead to let security know of their impending arrival. It was then that he was told of the Queen no longer being there. He looked over to [member="Veiere Arenais"] . "Kay's not at the Palace anymore. She took a few guards and hurried over to the Empire's Embassy. Do I even have to ask if you want me to change course?" The old man smirked and banked the Kingsguard to the left towards the Embassy district. He knew Veiere enough to predict some of his movements now. Kay was a magnet for trouble, afterall. It was better to have her husband there to try to keep her out of some of it.

Veiere had not visited the Embassies in a good many years, not likely since their first being established upon Commenor. It had been a three day celebration in which had included their announcement alongside the presence of numerous nation's representatives, not all upon the same side of the political alignment so to speak yet all having set aside their grievances in order to adhere to the Trade World's want for peace and good standing with one another. From memory, it was the Silver Jedi's that he had visited last, back when they had sought to strike a deal with Commenor in the exchange of Financial import yet the favor seeming very much so in their end and less so in Commenor's interests had seen to the meeting's conclusion rather swiftly.

"Yes, please..." Veiere answered Terrac rather simply. His wife was fast on her feet it seemed, perhaps having expected this arrival far sooner than he himself had done; it was reassuring in a sense to know that they weren't being dropped in on without some form of warning. While the Empire was responsible for it's embassies grounds and continued maintenance, those of Commenor still preferred to provide them with the appropriate formalities that came with a guests visiting the capital of the Systems Alliance, especially those whom had been so generous in the past.

Between the 191st Clone-Trooper Infantry and the Vessels within their Naval Fleet that had been built upon the blueprints offered up to them from [member="Tanomas Graf"] himself, the Empire had thus far given more to the Systems Alliance than any other before them and arguably received little in return having yet to make requests of their own. It was for this reason that Veiere found himself feeling somewhat curious as to the nature of their visit today.

A minor smirk flashed across the face of the grand admiral for a moment at her shot in the dark. "Emperor Kardal is in quite perfect health. In fact, it was he who suggested my little visit to Commenor in the first place." Gromm assured her, nodding slightly.

"It has come to my attention that the technical readouts of a few ships as well as several already-completed vessels have found their way into Commenor's defence force by way of the Empire's generosity." He clarified. At this point, he began walking around the moderately-sized lobby, admiring the architecture of the embassy.

"As the freshly appointed Chief of Naval Operations for the Imperial Starfleet, it would behove of me to make sure that these warships are being put to good use." The Epicanthix reasoned, looking back to the Commenori queen. "It is not a demand, merely a request. Although it would be quite saddening to have come all the way to the Colonies for no reason."

Kay nodded as [member="Gromm Cardan"] let her be aware of the Emperor's good health. Although the brief smirk that he gave made her wonder if there was something else there. Was he fond of the Emperor? Or no? She didn't have much of an opinion of him. They merely shared some tea and negotiated an agreement that so far, both have upheld their parts of the bargain.

She watched the Grand Admiral as he moved about the room while speaking. He came to inspect the purposes of the vessels? To what end? Why would it matter? It wasn't his place to take them back, was it? Not when they had done everything within their agreement, surely.

"Well, Grand Admiral, once the ships were constructed, we had them added to our defensive fleets to patrol our borders and maintain the security of our trade routes, including those specifically designated for the Empire. If you would like I can see if there are any nearby for you to inspect, otherwise you may have to wait a while for them to arrive to you. Your visit to CSA space will not go to waste, I assure you."

Terrac smirked as [member="Veiere Arenais"] didn't quite ansser his question correctly. No doubt his mind was all on the Empire that had decided to boldly arrive unannounced. So he just left it at that, steering the Kingsguard to the Embassy district, and touching her down on a public landing pad. He lowered the ramp for his boss to disembark. "Try to keep her outta trouble, will you? The last thing that we need is for her to piss the Empire off." He shut down the Kingsguard, the hum of the engines dying off while he reached for his flask of whiskey and swallowed a gulp of it down. "I'll be here to save your hides if I need to."

[member="Lorik Rygan"]

"I don't expect we will see any trouble from the Empire this day..." Veiere responded to Captain Terrac moving to disembark from the The KingsGuard and step down onto the landing pad for which he would soon be greeted by an Officer of Imperial rank and a duo of Stormtroopers, the Empire of which was of course responsible for it's own embassies security. His face was instantly recognized, even within the Empire's Embassy, Commenor's head of government was intel most common among their Officers. With [member="Lady Kay"] having already been present in a meeting with [member="Gromm Cardan"], the man of whom Veiere had not yet had the pleasure of meeting, the welcome party for which had come to secure the unknown vessel were more than prepared to lead him on into the Embassy, though not allowed to roam free without an escort of course. Whether the guard at his back was there for his protection or the best interests of the Empire itself, Veiere couldn't help but remain skeptical.

"Your visit to CSA space will not go to waste, I assure you".
Veiere entered upon his wife's reassurance to the Grand Admiral, the Systems Alliance was known to host a large number of varying government embassies, some of which held conflicting interests with the Empire and most certainly vice versa yet forever had their world been secure, void of attacks nor confrontation between the small plots of foreign soil for which these government residents were plotted upon. Kay and Veiere had maintained the utmost security across all residing guests to ensure their better relations between the world of Commenor and the neighboring powers so often at war with one another beyond the CSA's reach and control.

"You'll have to excuse my interruption, alas when the Empire's Destroyers appeared overhead I could not ignore the prospect of meeting with a delegation of Tanomas Graf's..." Veiere announced his presence in the most casual regard, his gaze sweeping across the two before searching the rest of the room and finding no such figure accompanying the visiting Admiral, "Though it appears I shall be disappointed, hm?" He lifted his head in a half nod, his gaze falling back upon the Empire's leading Naval officer with intrigue.

"Most unusual that he wouldn't come here in person. Pray tell what needs he has of sending a representative in his stead...".
