STRENGTHS
Resilient – the vessels massive shield generators can take a pounding. When they’re down the multi-layered hull can resist a serious level of firepower
Bruiser – not overly armed for its size, but the Collateralhulk sports a terrifying array of batteries
HQ – each vessel acts as a mobile HQ platform to large scale operations. Thousands of staff can work from the core of the ship to direct planetary, or sector scale operations
WEAKNESSES
Slow – the vessel is heavy with the reinforcements, and can take time to join the fray
Inner hull – the hull on the inside of the arms is far less resilient. Once the shields are down, bombers are the best bet to target weakspots in the vessel’s armour

DESCRIPTION

The CSN Serenity was overhauled and rechristened the TUS Jupitus. The original incarnation suffered from its hasty construction.

The new Collateral-hulk hull design was intended to form a template for future Battlecruiser designs, and mirrors the ancient Lucrehulk that has served the Confederacy so well. However, it took several years before the design was refined, and put into production at a greater level.

Engineers were never able to reverse engineer the [event tech] weapon. However, they instead worked on increasing the resilience of the design. Saiba provided a number of Yuuzhan Vong shapers, who reworked the design to include an outer shell of Yorik Coral, that also runs through the super structure. This makes each of these vessels incredibly resilient.

The outer ring houses a significant number of batteries, whilst also containing the ship’s fighter complement. Due to recent changes in the laws of physics, ships of the size now carry a much smaller complement of fighters.

The dedicated command station houses the most advanced command and control suite ever deployed by the Union, and it is expected to be used by both Navy and Army personnel to command operations. Outside of conflict this essentially functions as a mobile HQ/suite of offices.

The central command station has a more vertical design, mimicking the aesthetic of more recent TU vessels, such as the Scythe, Sickle, and Contention classes. This houses the command station, most of the vessels crew complement, and the reactors.

The first addition to the ship’s armament is a number of long range mass driver batteries, mounted with a prow facing firing arc. The two ionisation reactors provide a relatively flat output and provide the majority of the ship’s output. The annihilator reactor is smaller, but much more agile in output. Hypermatter can be rapidly burned to hit a peak, and charge the mass drivers, ready to electromagnetically launch a barrage of rounds.

The rest of the ship’s armaments are intended to leave it with no glaring weaknesses, but no particular strength. Heavy batteries give the vessel teeth against enemy ships, whilst the long range mass drivers can continue harassing the enemy at range long whilst the Ion Pulse recharges. Heavy fastmount turbolasers are intended to deal with mid-sized vessels that may be too agile for the heavy batteries. The final blow is typically delivered by its deck guns. An old separatist favourite, a combination of ion gun and mass driver. Each is mounted on a precision firing mechanism with a good firing arc. When an enemy's shields start to falter, these start to target key areas of the enemy ship, aiming to penetrate weak shields with the ion cannon/mass driver combo and stop the enemy's ability to fight without having to cause complete destruction.

Heavy Concussion missile tubes cover all firing arcs except for the rear, allowing with Collateralhulk to do significant harm to any vessels caught in a volley. Cluster concussion missile tubes are arranged around the outer ring, and can do significant damage to both squadrons of fighters and mid-sized capital ships.

Finally a range of point defences are included to deal with light to heavy fighters and enemy missiles.

Alright. After having reviewed this submission, I find both the armament and hanger count to be quite moderate. There are ships 1/4th the size of this that have a similar armament (It looks like you're rocking 1200 capital guns, 200 point defense, and 55 heavy launchers). At 3000x3000 meters, I'm perfectly ok with the submission's armament, speed, and durability.

However, for a ship of such insane size, the hanger seems a bit on the low end.

I think the above comment was poking fun at the 3,600 launch craft, 6,250 tanks, and 329,600 Battledroids of the canonical Lucrehulk. But it does come off a bit snarky. Since you mentioned the Serenity, I first thought you were poking fun at the current squadron limitations for starships.

All the same, considering the nature of the submission's history and the immense size of the craft, I feel that bumping up the Hanger's capacity to a maximum of 10 squadrons would be acceptable, should you wish to do so.

*prow facing firing arc?

I'm seeing 38 posts total, which meets the minimum standard of 30 posts of development for a ship above 2,400 meters.
None of the tech or materials used in its construction would require any additional development.
And the Armament is, considering the size of the craft, quite reasonable. One would almost say moderate.

As it stands, I'm ready to approve this. Just let me know if you'd like to increase the hanger rating before the final approval.

Thanks!

Snark removed

Fighter count increased and suggested loadout added

Firing Arcs added to those weapons limited and spelling corrected.

It is intended to have sensible armaments for the size, but be an incredibly tough nut to crack.

This ship's a fat lady, but her speed, size, hanger, and armament more than balance out against the smaller ships that populate the site.

Oh the whole, I think you did a good job with this and hope you get to enjoy lumbering around with it.

Approved, pending secondary.
