DESCRIPTION
The Cluvius War Claymore is a masterwork piece of weaponsmithing, forged with the utmost care and no expense spared. Created several generations ago, the weapon has been wielded by the Lakan of the Cluvius army by countless heirs, bringing dread to enemies at the sight of the sheer size of the weapon and the bright white blade. It has a reputation for being able to cut swaths through groups of enemies, like a scythe in a field. Legends tell of past Lakan of the Cluvius family cleaving metal tanks in twain, of a weapon that never loses its edge, no matter what it cuts through.

The truth of the swords creation is surrounded by darker origins, however. While originally created for the Cluvius royal family, it was under the command of a darker, more sinister ruler at the time of forging - Caius the Bloody. A leader that wasn't afraid of using the dark side, and calling on Sith alchemists to perform sinister rituals and spellcasting on the item. The Sith bathed the weapon in the blood of innocent villagers nearby, Caius murdering them by his own hand. This attuned the weapon to the bloodline, focusing the sword in such a way that only those of Cluvius descent could ever use the full power contained within the weapon. For six days, the Sith alchemists dipped the sword in the blood pool, chanting, performing incantations, channeling the dark side; and on the sixth day, after fasting and performing the final rite, the Sith alchemists completed the task with a ritual that involved scattering the villagers bone powder across the sword. The result was a powerful weapon that had seemingly become bleach-white, giving an otherwise menacing blade a deceptively angelic appearance.

Thanking the Sith for their service, Caius promptly slaughtered them, to ensure the secret of the sword - and its ties to the dark side - were kept secret. This is also when some of the Cluvius line believe this is when the blade was cursed.

For the remainder of his reign, Caius cut a bloody path of destruction, building his kingdom through suffering and fear. It wasn't until he was betrayed by his son, who had begun training with the weapon for his preparation to become Lord, that death came and an end to the bloodshed was felt. A stronger will than his father, Caius' son went on to forge alliances, improve standings with other royal families, and to bring a peace few believed possible - all the while seemingly holding the darkness of the weapon at bay, much to the surprise of family members who knew of the swords true creation. And so it was that any Cluvius able to hold those dark impulses back, could truly prove themselves among the mightiest and most strong willed members of the bloodline...

But the truth, was that Caius' son had become far worse than his father could ever have thought possible, and his cunning machinations would resound for generations to follow.

Strengths:
  • Mono-Molecular Edge: The sword possesses one of the finest, sharpest edges achievable with sword creation. This, combined with the alchemized metal, has allowed the Cluvius War Claymore to achieve previously believed impossible cutting properties, being capable of cutting into tank-grade armor and maintaining its edge. Even nearly indestructible substances feel the swords cuts quicker than most blades.
  • Alchemized Weapon: Due to being put through Sith alchemy and rituals, the blade and weapon have had a vast increase in durability, weight and cutting power; additionally, the edge has been affected in such a way that it never dulls.
  • Perfect Blade: The titanium metal used allows for high tensile strength while being lighter in density than most other metals of the same grade; it also has an edge thin enough to offer little cutting resistance against very strong materials, but is also thick and durable enough not to break on those same materials.
  • Long Reach: The sword is very large, boasting a total length of 213cm or 7 feet. This allows for longer reach than most close-quarter melee weapons.
Weaknesses:
  • Lack of Finesse: The sheer size and bulk of the sword implies a very heavy swinging style, it's made for maximum damage, not parries or flourishes. It does block well, though.
  • Really Heavy: The sword is long, wide and very heavy. It requires high levels of strength and endurance to use for extended periods of time. Being an alchemized blade, it is even heavier than other alchemized blades.
  • Bulky & Sharp: Great care must be taken in handling the weapon, especially when its sheathed on the wielder's back; one does not wish to lop off a leg doing a combat roll.
  • Impulses: Because of the dark arts used on the weapon, and the number of people it has killed further tainting it, there is a menacing aura that encourages the wielder to anger and violence. Some of the Cluvius line believe it a curse, which can drive weak Lakan mad.
  • Dark Presence: Because of the Sith alchemy involved, the sword emits a dark sensation to those capable of sensing it with the Force. This means the wielder can be located, while in possession of the weapon, despite trying to hide his/her presence.
  • Cluvius Bloodline: Only those of Cluvius blood may wield the sword to its fullest power, due to it being attuned to the royal family; in the hands of non-Cluvius wielders the alchemy becomes null and the sword is simply a titanium weapon with a keen edge, not even able to withstand lightsabers or blaster fire. It can also be easily destroyed in this state.
