Description:
"Class" is the second of the two items created by Valik to curry favor with Lucien Cordel and the Fringe, and introduces a revolutionary idea into Sith Swords, namely the use of Laminanium for the blade. Laminanium itself is an alloy that could melt and solidify at will, along with being 'programmed' to retain a certain shape. With these self-healing properties Laminanium was primarily used for the armor of YVH Droids and Jedi Expeditionary Suits in the Yuuzhan Vong War, but was rediscovered after the Gulag Plague by Warren Valik in order to create a prosthetic arm for Ashin Varanin(Dev thread and Sub lost in purge, but can be verified). With Valik's experience with the metal and Sith Alchemy he thought to combine the two in order to create a metal that molded itself to a 'programmed' form, and could be 'reprogrammed' on the spot with use of the Force, in addition to the normal characteristics of Sith Alchemized Metal, namely lightsaber immunity and Sith Lightning absorption and dispersion through physical contact. "Class" is the result of this fusion, a rapier that can, at Lucien's command in the Force, change forms to become a back blade, whip, shield, gauntlet, etc in a matter of seconds. Naturally this ability is limited by the Laws of Conservation of mass, the Rapier cannot become a greatsword for example, a backblade would naturally be about half as long, a cat-of-nine-tails could not be created, any shield created would only be about .2m in radius, etc. In spite of this the weapon is still arguably the most flexible in existence, with the decision of the weightless blade of a lightsaber or the changing blade of Class having no wrong answers.
