OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Clan Australis Outpost
  • Classification: Generic
  • Location: Kadia
  • Affiliation: Kei Raxis, Kaine Australis, House Raxis & Clan Australis ([member="Kei Raxis"] & [member="Kaine Australis"])
  • Population: 30,000 Clan Australis Soldiers, 2000 Clan Australis Naval Officers, 100 House Raxis Soldiers
  • Accessibility: Based within a volcano upon the planet of Kadia, the outpost is difficult to spot unless you know the exact location. Even then, only a small stone building would be seen as the majority of the outpost is hidden deep within the active volcano itself. No-one who isn't affiliated with Clan Australis or House Raxis wil be able to access this building.

Description: A stone box, that's all this base would appear to most. To most, this outpost is just a small box built on a volcano. However, deep inside is where the base becomes a full militaristic outpost. Inside are control rooms, armories, training rooms and canteens as well as fully equiped bedrooms with refreshers built in as standard.

POINTS OF INTEREST

The Main Lobby:

The Main Lobby is all that most people get to see. A stone box on the outside of a volcano, the main lobby is an empty room. This is because the door to access the rest of the outpost is hidden on the back wall. However, it isn't as simple as just pushing the back wall as there is a hidden finger print scanner as well as iris scanner to ensure that only people who should have access to this building are allowed access to this building. Anyone who attempts to access the building who shouldn't be there is instantly greeted by a small automated blaster hidden within the wall.

The First Corridor:

Right behind the main lobby, once the main door has been opened is the main corridor. This corridor, commonly known as The First Corridor allows access to many major areas within the base. The corridor runs deep within the volcano and is made of reinforced glass in some places to allow a view of the molten lava that surrounds much of the base. The entire corridor is lined with Distruptor Security Beams hidden within the walls and the celings to prevent any intruders from accessing things that they shouldn't.

The Observation Room:

Basically a big glass room in the centre of the volcano, the Observation Room allows for a view of the lava surrounding the base as well as the camera's that are dotted around the outside of the outpost. This is achieved via wireless signals being recieved by holoscreens within the room that allow for security to moniter the surrounding area for any intruders (miners from the planet) who may be accessing the base for any reason. Within this room, the hidden blaster within the Main Lobby can be operated.

The Medical Room:

The medical bay within the base is a basic medical bay. Equiped within the tools required for advanced first aid and basic surgery, the medical room can save a life however treatment will be required from other hospital outposts off planet should the injury be serious. The medical room isn't equiped for long scale recoveries or advanced surgeries due to the fact that many men based within the outpost are unlikely to see any sort of battle or any sort of war.

The Command Room:

A room dedicated to the command of soldiers carrying out training exercises and recon missions within neighbouring systems, the command room is lined with holoscreens and communication tools including encryptors. Within this room, two chairs are located for [member="Kei Raxis"] and [member="Kaine Australis"]. This is because this room is used as the main bunker should the base be invaded. Due to this, the room has a thick, solid door and a number of security weapons including Distruptor Security Beams, Null Gas and Metalic Spikes hidden within the walls and floor.

The Sleeping Quarters:

The main sleeping quarters, full of double rooms so that soldiers share with other soldiers. The only single rooms are those belonging to [member=Kei Raxis"] and [member="Kaine Australis"]. These two rooms are both fully secured with thick doors and have communication access to every other room within the outpost. Both rooms have meeting rooms attached as well as private refreshers unlike the shared refreshers the others have to share. Both Kaine and Kei also have private kitchens unlike the rest of the soldiers.

The Hanger:

Located atop the volcano, the hanger is a well hidden room. The very top of the volcano has been drained, replaced with some very well pained doors. These doors open to allow ships access to a high tech hanger where shuttles and fighters (X-Wing fighters) are stored and fully fueled at all times. Attached to the hanger is the pilots ready room, the ready room for all those training pilots to hang out and have fun with each other, chill out with each other.

The Training Room:

Attached to the main base via an underground corridor, the Training Room is more a large area of land with targets and different training courses set up. Soldiers can be seen here every day training and making sure they are at peak fitness. Also located here is a small building containing a pool area for [member="Kaine Australis"] to enjoy should he feel like it. The training area can be adapted at any time to ensure that soldiers face a variety of different training missions.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Built on the orders of Kei Raxis, the outpost acts as a training centre and forward outpost. The building took a year to be fully completed and it was built and paid for by House Raxis for Clan Australis due to their loyalty to the family. Designed to act as a training facility and a last resort military base should everything go very wrong, the outpost contains a number of internal defenses as well as constant staffing by members of both Clan Australis and House Raxis (their armies and general members). Built within a volcano, there is a large amount of technology in play to prevent the molten magma from burning into the base itself and causing severe issues including death.

Both House Raxis and Clan Australis have access to the base, however the main base is operated fully by Clan Australis with a few House Raxis soldiers dotted about every now and then for basic training. The number of men permenantly stationed in the base is but a fraction of what can be truly housed, however the base is unlikely to come under attack and therefore is housed by the minimum number of soldiers instead. Many of these are currently undergoing training however and probably aren't the greatest fighters.

But, it does the job.

Hey there, I'll be overseeing this submission.

  • Please put each link onto its own line for ease of readability. Also ensure that they link to the relevant pages, as currently they do not.
  • The population numbers feel particularly high for a newly formed Mandalorian Clan. Do you have anything which can back up those numbers which tie to Clan Australis specifically - and not just the Mandalorian Empire in general?
  • Kadia is a planet with a destroyed biosphere; added to that the placement of this outpost is inside an active volcano. Nowhere in this submission is there mention of systems to control the atmosphere/air production, water, or heat management. The structure is described as being just a stone box on the interior of the Volcano, meaning it is subjected to intense heats. As it stands this reads as a facility without air/atmosphere, and water, which makes no efforts to counteract the intense temperatures brought about by its location. Adding in a paragraph or even just a sentence about how the facility is controlled by technology which counteracts these issues would make a whole lot of sense.
  • Similarly to the above point, the tectonic disruptions would lead to frequent activity within the volcano itself. Having the base within the volcano is not advisable, but what I take most issue to is the placement of the hangar bay. You state that the top area of magma has been drained to allow the access in and out of the volcano, but given how destabilized the planet and its plates are this would constantly be changing and any form of eruption would collide with the hangar itself. I'd recommend relocating it, perhaps to the outer side of the volcano with access through to the main structure, if you want to be able to use it even when the magma levels rise.

1) All the links are linked to the relevent pages. House Raxis is not a fully fledged faction and therefore doesn't have a faction page. It is more a collection of many small factions.
2.) Seperated.
3.) http://starwarsrp.net/topic/124955-clan-australis/(From Kaine Australis)
4.) I'm gonna be honest. This submission is there to act as a training ground. It's very unlikely that this will see anything like war or an attack. I'm not a geologist, I don't know how techtonic plates work or how lava flows. I'll add in the line about the technology but I'd like some leyway with the hanger. It's pretty easy to assume it's made out of something lava resistant, and I'd put money on the fact there is something within the Star Wars universe that is lava resistant.

Neither of these actually hyperlink to the pages^

Thanks for the further information on the Clan, please link it under the Links category.

My issue with the hangar is not whether or not it's lava proof, but more how it would be accessible if the lava levels rose to cover it/if the volcano erupted. The planet is noted as having plenty of seismic and tectonic activity which means that at some point this already active volcano will blow. While you may never end up writing it as erupting, it still doesn't make architectural sense to have an access point for ships that could be completely covered by lava.

If, despite this, you're fine with the hangar realistically being out of commission every now and then then it can be overlooked as an architectural fault. I'm not asking you to be a geologist/etc, I'm simply explaining that the location is not at all optimal and could easily be remedied.

1.) Already explained that House Raxis won't hyperlink to a faction page :)
2.) Clan Australis links to the Clan Australis faction page. No clue where you want it linked otherwise.
3.) Added
4.) That's completely fine by me. I'll be 100% honest, the hanger is there because in my head ships coming in and out of a hanger looks amazingly cool.

Very well, as for the hyperlink issue... This is what I mean:

You see how Kadia has an underline? That means it links, if you click it it will take you to the relevant page. House Raxis and Clan Australis' blog and faction page are not underlined, meaning they will not take you to the page if you click it. Please make sure that they link to their relevant pages. Then this should be good to go.

They're working 100% fine my end, Pretty sure it's just your end.

Relinked them anyway. Try that. If not, then I don't have a clue cause they're 100% fine my end.

I am rejudging the Clan Australis sub. Regardless of that, it seems infeasible to have the body count of a modestly sized city packed into an underground structure, inside a volcano no less. Please reduce the Clab Australis troop numbers.
