Description:

The Cilghal-class is designed to serve as a more commonly available version of, or supplement to, the unique Reconciliation-class Medical Frigate. Its modular medical bays are available in the following configurations:

• Relief/medical supply transport. This configuration allows for an additional 200 tons of cargo space. Theoretically, several tanks could fit, but the Cilghal-class is not a military transport.
• Medical evacuation. This configuration allows the Cilghal-class to evacuate and treat an additional 100 people.
• Full medical ward. This configuration allows for intensive surgery in six operating rooms.
• Medical research. This configuration involves major scanning equipment and other specialized medical and scientific gear. It reduces the ship's cargo capacity to 70 tons and its passenger capacity to 60.

The ship is designed for a minimal operations crew, relying on heavy automation. This makes the Cilghal-class expensive, though still cheaper than a full Reconciliation-class. The ship has no weapons; its sole defenses are redundant shields, paired tractor/pressor beams, enough speed to evade even the fastest capital ships, and the armored panels which can slide into place over its windows. The vessel is operated, not from an external bridge, but from a lightly armored holograph-intensive pod within the ship.

Like the much larger Remembrance-class Battlecruiser, the Cilghal-class was designed, or at least heavily influenced, by the Mon Calamari diaspora on Eshan.
