- Appearance: Despite being from the southern isles Chujo is pale, her skin barely ever tanning and hair that is black with scented oil in it that gives it a darker sheen. Black pupils in her eyes and a standard Northern Academy uniform she is usually wearing with her class pin.

Chujo was sent to the prestigious Northern Academy of Kansai, her skills with engineering from an early age impressing the four academies recruiters who brought her in compared to the more martial and naval focused south and western Academies. From a young age she presented herself as a resolute and steadfast student wanting to improve the standing and placement of the academy within the system created by the Onyx empress to forge the strongest Yovshin. That led her to the battlefield to fight against the rising group within the Western Academy that had been naming themselves the Western Wolves.
The one who rose to the top was Unchou No-Kami often called the warrior goddess of Kansai's Academies. She and Chujo fought several times and it was considered next to impossible to beat her in a direct fight which she always pushed for. One of the time as her team encountered the Western Wolves. Unchou wiped the floor with them and capturing the commander took Chujo as her "prisoner" mostly back to the Western Academies faux jail. Usually it would be for the rest of the day and she would get released that night with a little shame since rarely others were captured. While there she and Unchou developed a sort of friendship and outside of the academies they met.
In secret of course, it wouldn't look proper and using the cover of the city the two started a relationship behind the scenes but still presented themselves as rivals between their schools to everyone else. Unchou suddenly taking an interest in capturing Chujo several times in their mock battles and making a point that she was the superior fighter compared to the Northern Academy. This only pushed Chujo more and more to increase the engineering skills of the Northern Academy and increase the divide when they assimilated the minor academy within the district and used them as a fodder in the mock battle but got improved equipment.
