Christmas, Credits, and Cherries

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
It had to come to Valik's attention that for a while now Mohc Extratives, formerly Minerals and Metals Incorporated, was undergoing a hostile takeover. Stockholders were being lost left and right, which made a holomail towards one of Valik's pseudonyms was all but unexpected. A woman by whom "Danger" was merely a first name, an empress of trade and business, but most importantly, a woman of resources. Valik didn't necessarily have need of credit or company shares, but if the woman had any more exotic resources? It could be well worth his time, and credits weren't worthless. Conjuring up a disguise in his head as he went Valik began to type up a response.

Dear [member="Danger Arceneau"]

Six percent was it? Though I am loath to part with such a share I've an inkling of what you possess, and what a woman of your position is capable of. While I am currently predisposed and unable to entertain you personally an assistant of mine by the name of Theran Adaar will be at Mohc Headquarters for the next week, and he is authorized and capable of handling this transaction. You may discuss terms with him personally or with your own agent at your leisure. I will warn you though, while credits are a 'standard' form of currency I have decidedly non-standard tastes. While some transaction might be necessary if only to keep appearances, a bargain won't be won without more esoteric items. I trust you'll have something up your sleeve.

Looking forward to doing business with you;

Sterk Heldad

Dear Sterk Heldad,

It would be my pleasure to meet with your assistant Mr. Adaar at his earliest convenience. I am also spending time at Mohc Extractives headquarters and will be honored to meet his acquaintance personally.

I believe I do have some items of value that would suit non-standard tastes. A girl always has to be ready for any situation at any time...

Regards,

~ Danger Arceneau

Days later...

Standing before the boardroom of Mohc Extractives Headquarters, Danger Arceneau would lightly rotate her wrist about the glass of low ball whiskey she held in her right hand. Alisha'ven was to wait for Theran Adaar personally at the hanger, and in turn escort the man to the main boardroom with all the pomp and circumstance one in such position would merit.

Before her lay the wide expanse of floor to ceiling windows that would survey a spectacular view. This particular headquarters would overlook Gromas 16 in all it's glory, an orbital station recently constructed to take on more warehouse space, ship docks, and provide long term resources for the miners themselves.

A small beat would tap against her glass, her mind already percolating what manner of items she'd have to offer. She had connections, some she could pull for this venture but it all depended on just what area of eccentric interests Mr. Adaar would take to.

"Threnn Adaar" was a man of an unassuming nature and an unmemorable appearance, one of the reasons Valik so enjoyed that persona, but when he got to Mohc Extrative Headquarters he was greeted by name by a blue twi'lek who could only be described as exotic. A curvaceous and shapely body, a soothing and comforting voice, subtle yet present in expression, she was the sort of woman people of power used to tempt their associates, to make their minds wander away from the business at hand allowing just the right touch to push them off course. Were it not for Anaya Fen he wouldn't have noticed, but the woman was exceptionally well-trained, though Valik himself had no interest in the woman. Twi'lek slaves were easy to come by, which meant any one twi'lek had little value for his experiments. All the better for her, though she wouldn't know it.

When they arrived at the office of [member="Danger Arceneau"] he first saw that her room was a place of power, the high room with all the windows that said "This is mine." or "This will be mine". Whether that thought was to comfort Danger or intimidate Valik he did not know, though the knowledge served him little purpose either way. He would not be intimidated by wealth, nor was attacking the businesswoman wise, far to public a figure to manipulate, assassinate, capture, or any of the other things that would be served knowledge of her fears.

"You certainly know how to treat a man Mrs. Arceneau." He said in greeting as Alisha'ven left them to their business, perhaps only in presence. "Though I fear I can't give you any leeway for it. Mr. Heldad is a verrry particular man about trade."

Danger would swivel her head to the new arrival. A smile would grace her full lips at the sight of him. "Mistah Adaar.." she'd start off, placing her glass of whiskey on a small coaster so as it wouldn't ruin the wood of the table.

Full hips would bring her slow sultry gait over to the man, a hand extending out to him in greeting. "My momma always said a girl's reputation is all she has..." she'd say with a throaty tone, keen emerald eyes sparkling with seemingly delight.

"By the manner in that she oversees her house and to the proper attention of her guests, a girl can do no better than to treat each like a King and Queen." she'd reveal, coming to a stop just shy of a few feet in front of him.

"Ain't a sapient in the galaxy that don't like to be treated kindly with respect.. and perhaps a bit of charm." her throaty chuckle would follow suit.

"Business is business... but pleasure is pleasure. Momma done taught me to separate the two a long while now." she'd flash him a wink. "Worry naught, Mistah Adaar... I expect no leeway in the former."

She'd shake his hand with a firm grip.

"A pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

The way she smiled, walked, swung her hips, the drawl, the family anecdotes, it all culminated in bringing about a 'comfortable' environment. While such attempts at comfort were common, most of them stopped at their associates, or slaves. Few executives themselves indulged in it themselves past offering a drink, not possessing the talent or inclination needed towards the art. It was quickly evident that where Valik used a scalpel or hydrospanner as his tools Danger used a wink, a smile, and the flow of credits to make her art. He matched her chuckles and winks with grins and smiles, before joining her hand with his for a firm shake. Always a terribly strange custom in Valik's opinion, but maintaining a strong hand seemed necessary these days.

"Likewise Ms. Arceneau." His first words. "Though I must admit you have me at quite the disadvantage. It is clear you see what I can offer." He said, extending a hand towards the windows that showed Gromas 16 and it's operations. "But I don't know what cards you bring to the fold."

“Well first things first,” Danger would begin, offering Mr. Adraas a chair for his comfort. "Would you care for a drink?" dependent on that, she would continue with the following, gesturing to the small but quality bar. "Pick your poison?"

“I know we discussed a six percent purchase of the stock. And I’ve an offer for that specific amount.” she would slide into her seat, a slender digit reaching out to the holo-array.

“I’m able to procure the odd and the rare… but for that six percent I am willing to offer the following.”

A tap of her finger would bring forth a particular image. It was a rather curious and interesting bloom. A plant. While normally such things wouldn’t be so blatantly obvious as a rare commodity, this one would.

“If we are looking into the rare and interesting...” Danger’s voice would drawl out in a soft coo. “The Murakami orchid.”

“The Oiran Guildhouse recently established a new chapter in Silver Jedi Territory… and the most interesting of flora was found.”

Details of the Black Orchid would scrawl out in aurabesh letters. It was a Force-sensitive planet with a high midi-chlorian count.

“They say that it is a Force-Sensitive plant with a high midi-chlorian count... able to bond only with people who had a similar concentration of midi-chlorians, and could "speak" with the bonded person telepathically.”

Valik seated himself, at the behest of [member="Danger Arceneau"], before motioning to the bottle of 798 Glen Tuk'ata scotch, a rare find from a distillery that operated on Korriban before it was shut down to make room for more practical enterprises during Moridin's Empire. Or perhaps Varanin's. Dates were sketchy at times. Presumably since Danger had him seated before he sat down she'd be pouring his drink, before sitting across from him and showing him a holo-display, of quite the fascinating little plant. Taking a small drink of the scotch, he used his skill of Art of the Small to analyze the materials as they entered his body, ensuring that no poisons or sedatives were hidden within, and diluting them if they managed to make an appearance. Not that Valik suspected Danger of such tricks, but he was never one to let lack of suspicion create lack of caution. He spent a few moments scrolling through the display, reading the systems notes on particularly useful plant, before raising his eyes up to the businesswoman and taking another drink.

"This would certainly be worth trading for. I assume you have had it's properties authenticated with such a 'high-midichlorian individual'?"

[member="Valik"]

There would be no attempt at his life. That made for poor business and an equally poor reputation. A smile would curve, "Oh there is no lack of hoodoo study involved."

"A few of the Companions more inclined have indeed bonded to other orchids." she would tell him, "The use of a Force detector as well as a sampling of this particular orchid for midichlorian counts has it at approximately ten thousand -- give or take a couple here and there." It wasn't a normal blood test like that of a regular force user, but it did the job. It was a respectable count, certainly not the twenty thousand of recorded history of the highest, but reasonable.

"I have kept this one separated from any with the inclination of the Force to prevent it from bonding."

Valik listened intently as the woman signified her testing, with her 'companions'. If that thought what he thought it meant . . . it seemed interesting that [member="Danger Arceneau"] would keep force-sensitive among them. Sure he supposed that 'creative uses' of telekinesis could have their benefits for such a craft, but if anything he suspected that meant some of her 'companions' were more than that. Mentalists to prod and poke for a sentient to reveal sensitive information, assassins of the night that needed not sneak in weapons whilst indulging in pleasures. He wondered how she regulated them.

"One of these orchids, along with a data-trail of a more 'standard' credit transaction, and you have your 6 percent Ms. Arceneau." He said, before raising his glass. "To exotic tastes, extra-ordinary items and enormous profits."

[member="Valik"]

"We have a deal Mistah Adaar," she would say, might pleased with it. "I am happy to transfer a suitable amount for the stock." It would be six point sixty seven million in total for 6.67 percent, the same share price she paid Darth Odium and Mrrew for their applicable 10 percent each at 10 million.

"However..." she would start to drawl out, "If Mistah Heldad would so desire to sell another five percent more..." she would press a small button. There the image and information of the Neura-neutro 9000.

"Along with another five million . . . there is this interesting trinket I'd be willing to part with. From the recent expeditions into Companion Esk Galaxy." She would say.

"If it suits Mistah Heldad's fancy." there was no need to be greedy. She only wanted enough to do what she had to get done.

The Neuro-Neutro captured Valik's eyes and he spent a moment analyzing it's capabilities and functions. Fascinating piece of technology.

"Your offer is very tempting, but I fear I've only been cleared to bargain with the 6%." Valik replied. "I'll make sure your offer is relayed to him and get you a holomail in a week tops on what he'd like to do. I can't guarantee he'll bite, but I'll definitely pitch you for him." He said before finishing his glass of scotch and laying it on the desk, which was presumably stain resistant or had a coaster or some sort of protection.

"Thank you for the drink, it's been marvelous Ms. Arceneau. Until next time." He said, and took his leave. A Murakami Orchid. Oh the things he could do.
