Chiss Friend

[member="Celiana"]

How long had it been since Thema had seen Celiana? Half a standard year? Maybe more? It was too hard to tell. She'd never been too keen on time, but with the Republic fallen, that disorientation had only been heightened. For months, she'd lost her purpose. Now... It was slowly coming back to her. Slowly, but surely. For now, her main objectives were to see her friends. Her master, her fellow padawans, and now, her... Well, now one of them was a knight, it seemed.
When Thema got the news, she wasn't too surprised. Even if her morals were questionable, Celiana did have the makings of a Jedi Knight. But within her happiness laid just a twinge of bitter envy- She was almost master-less now. A full knighthood seemed like more of a distant dream, than an upcoming reality. Maybe, had she not been with the Republic, things would have been different.

Still, the negative emotion wasn't too large enough to influence the hug she enclosed her fellow Jedi into as she stepped off the ship. Face dug into her neck with a grin on her lips, Thema had to contain a cheer of joy, heart fluttering at the feeling of reuniting with one of the tethers to her past. "It's been so long, Celiana!" She exclaimed in a very un-Chiss-like way, before pulling back from the hug, and taking a more composed look at her.

Although Thema herself had changed, taking on a more... Rough look, to say the least- Celiana nearly hadn't. Just as warm as the day they'd first met. That was good. Thema didn't need change.

Grinning as I was pulled into a hug I waited until Thema released me. "It's been too long Thema, last I recall I owed you a race against me and the promise of a new fighter if I'm not mistaken...Before we get to that though walk with me and tell me how you've been." I remembered the first time I'd run into the young Chiss padawan. Looking back now I still could've done something a tad different in terms of her rescue while she hadn't frozen in the vacuum of space the way I'd rescued her left quite a bit to be desired. It'd taken me awhile to find the parts to a Chiss claw-craft then even longer to modify it past all reasonable standards. But in my opinion one couldn't put a price on a good friend.

I wasn't sure what all Thema had been up to but I was definitely happy to see her especially after having spent the last week in bacta and kolto tanks aboard the Valkyrie. The duel against Connor hadn't gone well and now I was in need of travel to the Silver Jedi's mobile archive station to replace at least one saber, and most definitely replace the crystal chamber of my second. I'd crawled away from that battle and now all I had to show for it was the blade that'd stabbed me above the breast and below my collarbone...

With a light tread, the apprentice stepped alongside Celiana, beginning to follow her thoughout the path of her walk. As she was reminded of the promise of the swoop race, Thema could only muster a weary smile, having almost forgotten about the promise so many months ago. "We'll get to that sometime, Celiana." She said patiently, sighing as past memories set in. "It... It's truly been too long."

But before Thema could come to tears (or worse), she shook the depressing nostalgia out of her mind, and focused on the path ahead of them. "I've been fine." She began, before pausing, and reconsidering the place holder response she'd given nearly everyone concerned about her well-being in the past month, or so. "I... Well, I'm as well as I can be with my government gone." She forced out, with a bitter frown on her features. The pit of her stomach was now filled with lead, and you could almost feel the anger irradiating off her. "I'm sorry for not maintaining communications. In the past few months, I've been a bit... Jumbled, when it comes to my personal life."

Ahhh yes the Galactic Republic...I'd been away from civilized space for so long I'd only recently heard about that development. Looking towards her I sighed and said "I know the feeling about personal life, I've only recently come back into civilized space from a good length of time away. I only heard about The Republic recently...I was sorry to hear about it when I got back." Pushing the unpleasantness away for a bit I continued. "So what brings you back by Voss other than to meet with me? Thinking about joining adventurous Jedi like me?" I had to admit that when we'd first met Thema had seemed a bit put off at my invitation to stay on Voss awhile. I'd never meant to make her question her loyalties, but now that The Galactic Republic was gone it made me question where she could go for training or to continue her training...

As we walked I realized that we had quite a bit more to talk about. If it were up to me then I'd be driving Thema to dinner right now. It was her call though...Looking towards her I said "Care to hop on my bike? I mean I don't know about you, but I could use some good food to accompany a good friend. Plus your surprise is waiting back at my ship, and we'll have to drive through the plains out towards the wildlands to get you there. Dinner just seems like a good idea before anything else ya know?"
