The Chiss Ascendancy Plasma Dagger was made after a soldier crash landed in the middle of a battlefield. Unable to escape the wreckage in time, he was irreversibly burned and unable to continue his service. Determined to prevent such a thing from happening again, the Chiss developed this dagger with the intent on all soldiers having them. The plasma edge can be lit up for a short amount of time, allowing the user to cut through most materials quickly so they might escape burning wreckage.
Of course, this comes with other advantages. Being able to quickly cut through steel walls can help with infiltration missions and the like. Otherwise, it functions as a normal vibrodagger, giving soldiers a melee option when their blasters are no longer viable.
Strengths:
- Plamsa edge to help cut through wreckage.
- Vibro-generator keeps the weapon from being cut through by lightsabers.
- Can cut through a multitude of general substances such as durasteel, though not very quickly for dense materials.
Weaknesses:
- Electric attacks are conducted by the blade and can electrocute the user... or even cause an explosion of the vibro-generator that causes its sharpness.
- Ionic blasts can disable the generator and make it lose its edge entirely, as well as it's Plasma edge function.
- Plasma is still hot. Prolonged usage can damage the weapon. It's meant only to help cut through metals quickly.
