Designed and produced as Koros Spaceworks' newest interceptor, while not quite top-of-the-line, the Chiroptera-class was named for its bat-like wingspan and the signature v-shaped direction that the wings are held while in flight. When not in flight the wings on the Chiroptera-class pull into the body of the ship to conserve space, ensuring that the only concerns for hangars and shipyards is height clearance.
The ship itself isn't incredibly armed, only boasting two laser cannons and two proton torpedo launchers - which only hold a maximum of four torpedoes per launcher at any given time - and it has a rather weak hull. The integrity of the hull is a result of the lightweight design meant to increase the rate of acceleration and make its ability to maneuver possible. The ship is also without a hyperdrive.
