Intent: The Chimera class Carrier is intended to provide the Chiss Ascendancy with a dedicated carrier to bring into battle the Nssis class Clawcraft. The vessel itself while not capable of standing toe to toe with large or similar sized vessels is intended rather to provide a distinct support role through its fueling, launching and supporting of starfighter squadrons throughout the battle. Likewise it is equipped to protect vessels around it and itself against starfighter attacks, however must rely on support from ships nearby to defend it against capital ships.

Modularity: Unlike the Nuruodo class Stardestroyer or the Cheunh class Cruiser, this vessel is incapable of any modifications. It was designed and constructed with the strict focus on Starfighter support and defense. Any modifications to the vessel would otherwise compromise this purpose and would cause the vessel to no longer be capable to fulfill its primary role.

Material: The primary materials used in the construction of the vessel are Durasteel and Alusteel to provide the vessel with a durable hull that will allow it to withstand contact with smaller vessels and be able to stand against few vessels the same size. Further materials included are those that are generally seen in other vessels that are more common. The starfighter racks on the other hand are made of a Titanium alloy to allow the racks to be durable and strong to prevent them from being easily torn away from the vessel.
Description:
The Chimera class Carrier is a dedicated fleet carrier capable of bringing a full wing of Starfighters to bear against an enemy. While it is a slower and more vulnerable vessel to larger capital class vessels and well equipped vessels of a similar size; it more than makes up for this with its capabilities. Many of those capabilities stem from its simple use of a tactical map to track, give orders and study the movements of the vessels starfighters as well as the movements of enemy and friendly vessels. This allows the Chimera class to give overall support to the fleet by ensuring that openings in an enemies formation are taken advantage of through the use of the starfighters to further open the hole in a formation.
Likewise it is also capable of assuming an anti-starfighter role through the use of its point defense laser cannons and its flak guns. In a more dire need, these weapons can be turned against enemy vessels approaching the Carrier; however they are often less effective. Meaning that the vessel heavily relies upon its ability to launch and support starfighters for both its offensive and defensive capabilities.
